Seashell Port Blair garners high marks for its cleanliness and inviting atmosphere, especially for the rooftop restaurant's live music and picturesque views. While some guests consider it pricey, the consensus is that the value is justified by the quality of food and vistas. Its central location is often highlighted as perfect for city exploration amidst tranquil scenery.
The service receives accolades for attentiveness and professionalism, and while rooms are sometimes described as snug, their cleanliness and sea views are widely praised. Amenities, including the tasty cuisine and stunning views, are also well-regarded.

Hotel's Favourite
The Sea Shell hotel is a charming hotel with excellent breakfast included and a rooftop restaurant and bar that has live music at night from 7:30 until 10:30 PM. The rooms are very comfortable. I had a room with a partial view of the ocean. Fredy assisted me to my room and helped me plan for that afternoon and evening by answering all of my questions and determining what would work best for me with the time that I had available and my interests for my last night in the Andaman Islands. I went to Chidiyatapu beach for sunset, however, it was cloudy so the sunset wasn’t good to watch. It was a beautiful beach that it was definitely worth seeing. I met several folks while there and enjoying the opportunity I had to see it. Their rooftop restaurant and bar had phenomenal food and service. I tried their spicy chili wine fish for lunch with the local Sula sauvignon blanc. Superb! The only problem that I had was I requested access to their wifi when I first arrived and was given a code to use. The wifi was horrible during lunch. The server, Anup, tried resetting it and entering my code again but it never worked properly. When I returned to the hotel around 6:30, I tried using the wifi again in my room without any better luck. I went to the front desk and spoke with the gentleman on duty who said this is an island ma’am the service is slow. I explained to him that this hotel is not a cheap hotel and that I could have saved money booking somewhere much cheaper. I expected the wifi to work properly. He tried doing a few more things and we tried restarting my phone. I requested to speak with a manager because it was imperative that I have a strong wifi connection at 12:05 AM the following morning. I am staff for an airline flying standby back to the USA. It was imperative that I was able to list for my flight 24 hours prior or this could make me miss my flight and be stuck in Delhi instead. I was able to speak with Fredy who immediately resolved the problem with my wifi. Fredy even provided an extra code for up to 3 people just in case I was not able to connect using the code that was working for any reason. Not only could I check in for my flight on time, I had access to upload many pictures and small videos from listening to live music at their rooftop restaurant and bar that evening while eating prawn skewers and trying some of their local Indian bread with a sauce to dip it in. From watching many other people eating, their sizzling seafood platters looked and smelled amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at their rooftop listening to live music and talking to the singer Henry Alfred who sang a wide variety of music that everyone had a fabulous time listening to. I enjoyed dancing and talking to many new friends who I met there until closing. Their breakfast that was included downstairs and was delicious. They had lots of different foods and fresh juice shots to choose from. I thought that everything I tried was excellent! Their staff was very friendly and accommodating with anything that you may need. The next day when I checked out, I found an envelope from this hotel that they must have provided at checkin with a different wifi code for up to 3 people attached. I didn’t realize that I had this envelope and code until I checked out that morning. Most likely I wouldn’t have had the wifi problems if I would have known and used this code instead of the code provided to me while checking in. I returned this and the extra unused code that Fredy gave me in case I needed it during the night to Fredy and thanked him so much for everything. I had a comfortable evening. once wifi was working properly I was able to do everything that I needed to on line without interruption. I was very pleased with the breakfast included, as well as lunch and dinner at their rooftop restaurant and bar. Their staff was very helpful and friendly! I recommend staying here anytime you are in Port Blair.

We stayed at the Sea Shell on a recent family holiday to the Andamans. I must be honest in mentioning that this property wasn’t our first choice and my booking experience wasn’t exceptional.
But once we reached the property, all our concerns vanished. This is a 14-15 year old hotel but it has been maintained very well, it feels more like a 5 year old property. The staff are well trained and courteous at all times. The food is great, doesn’t mess with your stomach and tastes good. The GM Mr Parvez Rana and the Operations Manager Mr Subbiah are available almost round the clock to attend to any concerns or requirements.
If you are on a vacation or business trip to Portblair , The Sea Shell is definitely a property you should consider for your stay.

Very nice location over a hill top, overlooking the bay and nice view of the city from rooftop.
Very well managed by its GM Mr Parvez it scores much better as compared to ITC hotel next door where i happened to stay for a day.
Mr subbhaiya went out of his way to make our candle light dinner a memorable experience. The service by Khalida was excellent as if he knew what we wanted next. The location of dinner was in total privacy with a great view of the city and live music.we could also have a private dance . This was one of the best private dinners I had .To top it up the chef had prepared excellent food especially the sizzler.

We were a group of 11 and stayed in the hotel twice during our Andaman trip (2+1 nights). Checkins and check outs at both times were smooth. The property is well maintained and is strategically located close to all major attractions including Airport and Jettty.
We had booked standard rooms which were perfect for a family of three (2 adults and a child with an extra bed). However on our return journey, they had upgraded our rooms to executive rooms which we found smaller. These rooms had balconies (which you rarely use) but very small to place the extra bed. The bathroom especially were very badly designed and inconvenient when compared to bigger bathrooms of standard rooms.
The food here is amazing. Must eat: Andaman fish curry and chilli crab. The service at Salt and Pepper restaurant is slightly slow and room service required repeated follow ups as they tend to forget the orders.
The hotel provided clean linens and towels. The rooms are well maintained.
Make sure to book standard rooms (bigger bathrooms) and eat chilli crab from Amaya.

Please do not book this hotel. Some photos are misleading. People have posted photos of other Sea Shell resorts that are on Havelock or Neil Island. This is literally just a hotel with a rooftop and nothing else. The deluxe room has partial view of the ocean, but if you look at the photos the partial view means you will see something through the trees in front of your balcony.
commute is also tough. Its up on a hill and there is nothing closeby. Yes you can walk to a market, but how will you come back up. Rickshaws dont take more than 2 ppl, so you need to get a taxi to get here and you will end up paying 300 Rs everytime you want to come up.
The hotel is in bad shape. The carpets are literally black. The cleaning standards are poor. There is a restaurant downstairs that also serves breakfast but its not lavish.
Overall, I dont think its worth paying 10K per night to stay in this hotel. Its grossly overpriced and not worth it. If you are forced to stay in port blair due to your flight schedule or ferry, you are better off in a cheaper hotel because this hotel does not offer anything so special that you pay so much for it.
Please avoid. Dont waste your money. Rather save it in port blair and invest it well on Havelock or Neil where you get real legit 5 star resorts for the same price and amazing food with lavish breakfasts.

Responded 26 Mar 2021
Dear Mr. Prashant, Thank you for taking out your valuable time to review us. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. We accord the highest priority to genuine feedbacks and would request your kind understanding and prudence. TripAdvisor is an open platform where guests can post pictures over which we have no control. However if you visit our website, the pictures and the description give you the factual portrayal of the views from the room. Our location is very clearly mentioned on Google maps (showing the distance of the hotel from various landmarks), should you have desired to stay in the market area, there were many hotels to choose from. The hotel is in top condition and was in fact renovated just before we opened after the lockdown. Regarding the cleanliness of the carpets, we have Patterned Loop Pile carpets of high density, which are of the highest quality and they are cleaned every night. If you look closely the dark shade observed on the surface of the carpet is the shadow of the pile when it changes direction. We are saddened to hear that you did not like the breakfast spread. In fact our breakfast spread is quite diverse to cater to the different pallets of our well-travelled guests. If you had desired something else in the breakfast buffet, we would have happily catered to it, but unfortunately we did not receive any such requests. Taking this forward, we hope that all your concerns have been addressed and look forward to welcoming you back again. Warm regards, Zoha

We had a wonderful stay at Sea Shell Port Blair. The rooms have an amazing view of the sea and one could sit out with a book and a cuppa and simply enjoy! But that wasn’t all- the cherry on the pie was the rooftop bar/ cafe. Again a brilliant view and the in the evening the live music was outstanding. One of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had. My teens loved the food- fried fish and chips and according to them the best crispy bhindis they’ve had. The menu had a surprising array of vegetables much to our delight.
We would definitely come back here. Our stay at Sea Shell Samssara was also lovely so I guess this chain of hotels has nailed it!! Worth mentioning is their refillable water bottles in the rooms- not the disposable ones which many

This is excellant hotel situated in the central location on marine hills Portblair. We stayed here for one night and our room no was 102 which was reasonably spacious and having sea view. The staff at the reception was very prompt caring and cordial. The best part was their roof top Bar at third floor having wonderful scenic view. The quality of snacks etc both veg , non veg , including cocktails and mocktails was superb as also reasonably priced . In the evening you will find heavy rush on this bar lounge .The morning buffet breakfast was very good .Mr Vinod and Tilakraj were very caring at the buffet breakfast. However the dinner servings were not up to the mark .

SeaShell Hotel is a Port Blair gem located minutes away from major attractions in Port Blair.
Room 102, with a picturesque sea view, is where my mom and I rested after short day trips. If you enjoy outdoor running, you are up for a retreat. You can reach a breezy sidewalk along the coastal line in less than a quarter of a mile on a calm 3-mile out-and-back run. The best part of this hotel is its Salt and Pepper restaurant. I had to mention that Tilak and Vinod, the attending staff and Sujay server, were not only caring but preempted if the dishes testified differently than expected. The team at the front desk was amicable. Delectable food from the hotel restaurant Salt and Pepper was the highlight of our stay at SeaShell hotel. Irfan jumped over the balcony to fetch my track, and Praveen helped my mom with the phone since she missed packing her charger. Outstanding service.

I must say, Sea Shell Port Blair is one of the best property that i have stayed in. Special mention to the entire staff including front office, housekeeping, restaurant and also the manager for making our stay comfortable & making us feel at home, considering the fact that we had our 18 month son travelling with us. The team ensured that all his requirements were aptly fulfilled.
Property is extremely well maintained, rooms are neat & clean.
Buffet breakfast & dinner has exotic spread and is very tasty. Also, their top floor terrace lounge is a good place to be in, with live music, good drinks & tasty starters served, overlooking the sea.
All in all, highly recommended place.

Manoj,
There is no swimming pool and it is not walkable to sea side (Port Blair - Sea Shell). But the Sea Shell in Havelock has a wonderful swimming pool and is right on a beach (rocky).
Generally tourists do not stay in port Blair more than necessary. Try to give most time to Havelock if you are planning a trip.
