Great staf, great hospitality. Great food .laundry facilities very clean. Guest house is very clean. Food Was very tasty . Especially the fish was very tasty. Well maintained. View from the balcony is super.
i would first of all tell people who choose this place to stay ... that the only reason i liked the guest house was the warmth and goodness of the guys who served and cooked for us... the Guest House has no proper lobby, no elevator and often, nobody at the desk. It is the guy who works in the kitchen and Guru, who carry your luggage and fetch and .. all this with a broad smile, who made up for the others who were of no help. The common balcony on the top floor gives you a sense of openess .. and the bathrooms are clean, and guys please do not take suggestions from Pradeep for travel agents. They fleece you and are not required. do your homework before your trip.
Kokari guest house was a choice for my friends and I based on the suggestion of an avid traveller. We had a wonderful 2 day stay. Joel, Shaheb and all the other staff were exceptionally nice, polite and very welcoming. They were very professional, but also friendly. They suggested places to go a visit, gave us important information about timings, ferry bookings, went the extra mile to help book autos / cabs and even allow us to use their reception computer to make payments and other bookings. The view from Kokari Guest house is spectacular! Overlooking the vast water, the balcony has the most stunning sunrise views! This place is a great choice for solo travellers, friends or families!
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel on our recent vacation in Port Blair, Andaman. We were a little hesitant when we booked this hotel as it is classified as Guest House/BB. But we chose this place because of the location and we were not disappointed. The view of the sea from the room is breath-taking especially at the time of sun-rise. The room is neat and clean with a huge wash room attacched. Other facilities are a huge sea facing balcony where one can sit and relax. There is also a common hall cum dining room with some interesting collection of books to read. Mr. Pradip the owner was very helpfull and knowledgable. Also the Chef Mr. Deepak dished out tasty food. The only drawback is that the rooms are located on 2nd/3rd floor and there is no elevator facility. But we did not mind this little inconvinience as we really had a 5 star expirience.…
First of all let me tell you why one shouldn't book this hotel. - No lift. ( reception is on first floor and best rooms are on third.) So, if you have knee injury or lazy ass, don't go there. -No room service, no TV, no full fledge kitchen. With so many drawbacks one may wonder, why 5 stars ? Because this place have a heart. We stayed there twice and both times our stay was memorable. rooms are big and well furnished washrooms are modern, spacious, common area ( on each floor) has tv, dining space ro water, wash basins, tea and coffee supplies. view from the balcony is amazing and people there are just like your family. Though it is almost perfect place but can be improved by adding more options to eat. That's the only downside. My advice to fellow travellers is to book sea view room on third floor for best experience. Thank You.…
Kokari Guest House was the first Guest House stay for me. So I was little hesitant while booking it. But after having experienced the place, I was happy that my decision paid off. We booked the sea facing rooms. The view of the Harbour and the Sea was so good! For most of the time we were in the hotel, we ended up sitting in the balcony, and soaking the views. The service and the food were good and the staff was pretty friendly and more than happy to guide us with our itinerary. Keep the up the good work!
We stayed at kokari for a night . We checked in the morning and checked out to leave for havelock island next day Pros: 1. Homely atmosphere 2. Beatiful view of jetty where you can spend a relaxed time sipping coffee 3. Homely meals served. The staff cooked oats , also arranged for milk packets for my two year old which was indeed very helpful. They also made non-spicy curries to suit our toddler on request. 4. Microwave and fridge were very useful for travellers with babies/kids 5. Guided and arranged us tickets for signtseeing Cons: 1. No lift which is not suitable for elderly people 2. Meals be it for lunch or dinner have to be ordered in advance since this s a homestay.
We stayed for 1 night and found the rooms quaint and clean and staff incredibly helpful. The only con is the rooms are on the 1st/2nd floor and you need to climb stairs (small concern for my mom) but the view from the balcony is worth it. The breakfast prepared by the chef was scrumptious! All in all, would recommend!
Kokari guesthouse is a very distinctive and unique property. It's located on the northern edge of the city and offers great sunrise views out to the sea (although it requires one to wake up at 5am :) Sahib and Pradeep were exceedingly friendly and helpful. Sahib especially cooked us a lovely meal on the first day, gave us an great overview of the island and the culture, helped us get ferry tickets to Havelock, organized cabs to take us to Chidiya Tapu and autorickshaws to take us to the jetty early in the morning. The rooms in the guesthouse were very comfortable. The common areas including the lovely balcony were a treat. The only con to the place is that most of the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor making it hard for older people to get to their rooms. It would be ideal if this was mentioned clearly in listings.…
The staff was very helpful and accommodative. What surprised me was the food and as a chef myself I learned something new from the house chef and change my impression of Indian cuisine. I only hope next trip we can have more selection of beer as beer there have higher contain of alchohol.
