We booked The Seaview Residency for a night stay through the Booking.com (ID No.3886850900) in Feb 2020, before proceeding to Havelock and stayed two more nights on return from Havelock . The property is located just ten minutes drive away from the Airport n within walking distance from the ferry point. All the prominent tourists locations like cellular jail, Central sectt., Tourism office, all the museums, marina park etc. are located with in a radius of 2-4 kms. The property has an awsome view of the Sea from each floor. The food is really homely. In fact this was our third trip to the Islands.On both the occasions we relied on Tour operators for our stay n sight seeing which was a total disaster for one or other reason. The accommodations arranged were having no view at all and faar off from the ferry point n other attractions. As regards sight seeing we were offered with a stereo type tour package which offered no flexibility and the Tour operators took 90 percent advance six months back on both the ocasion. This time around Mr. Vijay, the Manager took care of our tour itinery with various options and due flexibility without taking any advance except the payment for the cruiser tkts for our inter island movements. We were provided with a Tata Hexa vehicle which was truely lovely and the driver acted more than guide by closely taking care of our movements till we were seen off. Our trip was entirely hassle free and all credit goes to Mr. Vijay & Mr. Prakash the cook. The cost involvement was also substantially very low as compared to our earlier trips. I feel proud to recommend this property to any one, more particularly the middle class travellers which offers a safe n perfect homely ambience.

Recently we visit Port Blair and adjacent islands. We stayed at Hotel Seaview Residency for four days in Port Blair. It is a budget friendly beautiful B&B facility to stay. Its location is nearer to the Airport and as well as the Jetty with a view of the beautiful wide sea from the every room of every spacious balcony. Everybody can enjoy clear sunrise in every morning. There is a beautiful side walk in front of the hotel for morning walker. The owner Mr. Abdullah, a nice and helpful person treats his guest as his close relatives. Mr. Vijay, the Manager, truly a gentleman will help you in every aspects from sightseeing to car booking to Govt. Permission to visit restricted islands. Prakash, the Cook, always ready to cook as per your taste. Dilip, the attendant, always be in your doorsteps to carry out your desire. We are so happy with our stay and would highly recommend for comfortable staying here to anyone for value for money.

We traveled in the first week of March 2021 when Andaman Tourism was barely recovering from the pandemic dip. We booked 3 rooms, one on the first floor (for the elderly members of the group) and 2 on the third floor (bay view and mount Harriet). The view that the room named bay view had is practically hard to beat. The ceiling to floor sliding doors would give a specular view of the bay that you can enjoy from the bed itself. And they had these nice seating on the balcony where you can simply sit and enjoy the turquoise bay of Bengal, and the ocean breeze. There wasn't much of a view from the mount harriet room just a lot of greenery which was pleasant too and the room was extraordinarily large. The rooms were neat and maintained. Mr. Murugan was in constant correspondence with us and made sure that we got the rooms we wanted and he was always a phone call away for all our travel arrangements needs. He had become our go-to travel advisor at Port Blair. The food was homely and was served on a dining table that was available on every floor. The cook would personally attend to us and take note of what we would like to eat and the food would be always ready on time (we would get a phone call when it gets ready). The view, the rooms, the food, and the hospitality by the staff altogether were more than satisfactory. The location is not very close to the market area but the view you will get overpowers that. It is also very close to Haddo jetty (like 10 mins drive), so if you are traveling to Havelock by Makruzz or Green Ocean, that would be convenient. There was only one hiccup when we found that the egg curry we ordered in the evening had fish bones (that was served to us for lunch and we were concerned if the food was cooked fresh). But we let that slide because our experience otherwise was very fulfilling and we will definitely book there if we visit Port Blair again.

We r delighted to hear that u had enjoyed ur stay with us n given ur real time experience, wonderfully detailed. As regards the only hiccup madam u had cited, we had seriously introspected over the issue highlighted among our cook , manager n helpers but could not figure out the lapse. As u r aware, our kitchen is always open to our esteemed guests and we prepare the food customising their preferences. Normally, the guests keeps close touch with the cook n even personally assist/ guide him in cooking their own food . U may appreciate that the volume of cooking in our kitchen is limited to our esteemed guests only n strictly not open to non -guests. With full responsibility i can say Ma'm we never ever serve food which were prepared for lunch, during dinner. Whatsoever be the reason, i express my regret over the concern u had expressed n assure u that our system will be more careful/ sensitive to such issues in future.

This is my third visit to Andaman Islands. Every time we stayed in hotels paying double the tariff we paid in The Seaview Residency. Not a very high end property where u cannot find a Bar or high end Restaurant, this property provides a very homely environment which provides an awsome view with abundant sunight n natural breez besides homely food away from one's home. Earlier, one or other member of our family was falling sick during our last trips , being dependant on hotel food continuously for 5-6 days. For certain it is not the case with this property, where u can even have the option to guide the cook, the way u wanted ur food. The manager of the hotel , an educated local guy, will arrange ur sight seeing the way u wanted at the most economical rates, not at per head cost,which we had been paying all along to the Travel agents, with total flexibility. The driver of the cab assigned to us was acting as a Tour guide at no extra cost. I have no hesitation in recommending this property particularly to middle class travellers who looks for a homely and clean environment to enjoy ur holidays hassle free to ur fullest at a very reasonable cost.

This is the best place to stay in port blair both the manager and owner of the property are extremely friendly and made us feel like home incridible view from the hotel room with great food and very location I wish I could rate this property 10 out of 5 stars. Don't think twice just book (The manager will also help you with local bookings) ❤️ -Aninda Banerjee Stayed from 30th November till 3rd December. I am sure I will visit again very soon.

Location of hotel is very nice and sea facing. Haddo jetty is around 400-500m walk from where green ocean and makruzz depart and arrive which is other plus point. Book a sea facing room which are bigger. Staff is helpful and food is basic but like home cooked and tasty. Approach to the hotel is a steep 50m incline followed by steps to reach room, so if you have elderly people they might face some problems. Taxi can come to the hotel front but not auto will drop on the main road.

As regards the size of our rooms, except one of our Super Delux family room which is 25x15 ft in size, the size of the rest of our rooms range 16-18 sq.ft, which is considered the best in size in Port Blair city espesially at the given tariff structure. As regards the elevated location of the property, appreciate that the geographical landscape of south Andaman is not flat in n but hilly/ uneven in nature due to which the properties which r considered the best in Port Blair and which are holding 5* status are located at elevated points and the approach to which r narrow n steep to which normally autos hesitate to operate. As far as The Seaview Residency is concerned, only 10-12 mtrs from the main road , the approach is narrow ( viz.10 ft) width after which we have our own approach road to reach the property. It is not that all autos refuse to operate, but ofcourse, some autos with heavy luggages do hesitate to operate. It is true that currently we do not have lift facilities, as being located in a vulnerable siezmic zone -v , generally lift culture is absent in the Port Blair city , though some of the new new properties do have lift facilities.

This hotel has a beautiful view of the sea if you pay the extra to face that way. It was glorious to wake up in the morning and see the sun glistening on the ocean. The staff were friendly and it is close to Haddo jetty if you are taking a ferry. This is where the positives end. It is quite far from the centre where all the restaurants are. It is also far from the airport which means taxis are more expensive too. And the local mosque meant a VERY early wake up call which normally would not bother me but when you are on holiday and in need of R and R it was not helpful at 4am. Also for a western tourist, some toilet paper in the bathroom would have been helpful as well as a kettle (which was provided when asked for). Also it is not disabled friendly, there are no lifts or ramps and we were on the fourth floor and the hotel itself is on a steep hill. Not good if you struggle with mobility.On the whole it was good enough to stop the night and view always incredible.

Thanks for the feed back and for appreciating our location , staff and the view . As regards the other comments, it is stated that we are located within walking distance from the ferry point and 4.5 KMs from the airport and just 3 KMs from the main city. No property exists within the Port Blair limits which is closer to ferry point as well as close to the city/ Airport. If it is closer to airport it will be far from the ferry point and vice versa. As regards the morning prayer call from the nearby mosque, believe me one cannot find a hotel in Port Blair which is not close to close to a Masjid/ mandir/ gurdwara from where bhajan, keerthan, azaan are being heared . In some locations one may hear all these together. No escape from it. Andaman is widely known for its castle's society and famous for its rich diversity where people from all sects and religion lives in perfect harmony and If any one can't bear with its diversity, I am afraid Andaman is perhaps not the right place to visit. As regards the toilet paper, we find 95-96 % of our guests do not use toilet paper though we provide it who ever require it.as regards the statement that the hotel is located in a steep hill, appreciate that geographical nature of the south Andaman Island is hilly in nature and not flat unlike other cities. Even the best hotels in the Island are located in hilly places with narrow approach. And any one with mobility issues will definitely have difficulties in sight seeing tooo which ever hotel he prefer to stay. As far as we r concerned, we are located abt 10-15 mtrs from the sea level which is not only advantageous from the safety point of view but will have a very beautiful uninterrupted view of the sea . So one may appreciate that certain issues may have advantages and disadvantages. Finally I wish to submit that keeping in view of our tariff structure we provide the best ambience and services for a budget Traveller and the enormous response we get from our esteemed guests are clear vindication of the same and I may request my prospective guests to realize the ground realities and balance their expectations. A& N Islands being located abt 1200 kms from mainland India, everything we consume here ate imported from mainland and are quite expensive.

The location of the property is very close to the Jetty poet and a decent 15 mins ride from the Airport. The property manager Monojit and the Chef Prakash makes this place very unique and hospitable Clean and hygienic place with awesome food males this a beautiful place to stay, Whilst Andaman has so much to offer to the tourists but the guidance, humility and the food at Seaview mlaes this journey and experience very memorable and lasting, Thanks to both the gentleman for their hospitality, Overall an exciting and energizing trip. The Seaview Residency is a guest house with a beautiful view of the sea. The price is affordable, the rooms are clean and well-maintained. View from the balcony is mesmerizing. They have decent food and wifi on all floors. The service is good as well.
The Bay View Suite has one of the best views of the shoreline in Port Blair, you can sit in the room all day and you won't feel like going out. The location is amazing as well, there is a place right outside where you can walk right by the sea. There is a nice dining area on each floor with a beautiful view of the sea. The staff is courteous as well, they arranged breakfast at 5 AM for us so that we could board a morning flight. They even arranged khichdi for one of us who had a stomach upset.
The only issue I would like to point out is, all the rooms on a floor do not have the same view. Some rooms are more spacious than the others. Please contact the hotel directly and check the availability of rooms before booking.
We had a really helpful guide in Port Blair as well, Gopal Bhaiya. He arranged ferries for us and took us around the island in his auto. You can get in touch with him at 9933202151, 9531918600.

Seaview residency is a great place to stay in Port Blair at a very reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Manjit at the reception took care of whatever we needed and Prashant (the cook) cooked delicious meals for us everyday. It's probably one of the few places in Port Blair with an in-house cook, so you can enjoy homemade food at a minimal cost. It also has complimentary breakfast and a great sea side view. The location is great too with most jettys and the airport very close by. Overall, would definitely recommend staying at Seaview residency.
