The Doubletree By Hilton Sharm El Sheikh - Sharks Bay Resort garners mixed feedback. While the hotel's cleanliness and proximity to attractions like SOHO Square are highly praised, the value for money is often questioned due to extra charges and the quality of the all-inclusive packages. Guests enjoy the range of amenities, including multiple pools and activities, yet some find the facilities aging. Service and atmosphere receive varied responses, with commendations for staff friendliness contrasting with concerns over noise levels and service speed. Room quality is generally appreciated, despite occasional maintenance and decor issues.

We stayed for 10 days end of June beginning July. We found check in really quick and wizzed to our room by golf buggy. We arrived about 1030 at night but was given food in bags - very nice. Bar open upstairs till 12 so managed a couple drinks on the first night too. We found all the staff in the Hilton amazing. All the bar staff, cleaning staff, shar-mania staff and life guards. We did 2 trips from the pier and both were amazing we loved it. Shar-mania staff were especially nice to us and very informative. Syeed especially was a lovely man and we really enjoyed talking to him and booking out speed boat trip with him. Abdul the life guard always helping us get our sunbeds and putting up our umbrella. Housekeeping young man was very good making us different animals everyday from the towels. Always polite and always asking if we needed anything. Fresh water, tea coffee and milk left in our room everyday as well as a bed change and new towels. We had a king size bed and it was lovely and comfortable and plenty of draws and wardrobe space in the room. Free room safe also. Restaurant staff were amazing especially Azez who got us a table and drinks on every visit. Food for me was amazing. If you don’t like what is out you can always ask for something. Barbecue nearly everyday. Kebabs, rice, curry, chips, pizza and pasta on offer all the time plus always a roast dinner Turkey Lamb or beef. I would say get in the restaurant at near enough opening time if you want to beat the rush and be relaxed. Free beach bus to take you to the other side where there is a pool and pontoon to jump off into the Red Sea. All the staff were really nice and polite and helpful and they made our stay very comfortable and very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely like to return one day for another lovely holiday. Please ignore any bad reviews we loved our stay and also walking distance from soho square which is a lovely place to visit in the evenings and take pictures. We also met some lovely people from around the world around the pool and in the bar. Thank you for a very enjoyable holiday to all the staff.

As it was our 7th stay in Hilton Sharks Bay we have a lot for comparison. It feels that management is changing from time to time and not always in a good way.

As we are returning customers we emailed hotel upfront with some small requests on our rooms. Nothing special, just location of room, bed types. Unfortunately, receptionist who is in charge of communication via emails wasn’t very customer oriented and we only were able to get answers for questions we also asked on 3rd or 4th email. Templates are good but at least try to make sure they answer all of the questions.

It was our first time of staying on the 2nd line.
Pros: rooms are much better as they are newer; a lot of space around the gigantic swimming pool, really good place to relax and enjoy sunbathing; restaurant as well is much lighter and more pleasant to dine.

Cons: if you want to go to the beach it will take 10-15 min to walk, but there is a bus every 30 min, just make sure you catch it; swimming pool is great, but water is quite cold, in windy weather it is a no-no, or make sure you have enough “fuel” in your glasses.

One big cons this time was a beach.
To make sure you’ll have some spot there you need to come there at 6 or 7am, 8am will be too late, most likely you won’t find a place there. Problem is that hotel has a rule that reservation is forbidden, but they are not paying any attention to it. And thats a pity as some people just reserved it at 7am and come to beach at 10 or 11 am, so somebody may have used it and already left the beach.
Another thing is their new towel system. If you have taken towel at one spot you must return it there. Quite frustrating if you have got it at 2nd line and go to the beach so you will need to bring it back to the second line, which is really annoying. Also 2nd line restaurant needs a bit more stuff as it is usual that tables won’t be cleaned until you’ll ask. But thats just lack of stuff, guys are doing very well there. Just give them some help.

Things worth mentioning are their SPA, Kan Zaman beach bar and Barracuda restaurant.
SPA was just super relaxing and helped us getting smooth tan and not getting a sun burn. At the beach bar try ordering Tequila Sunrise on fresh juice, it was amazing. And shrimps from Barracuda restaurant was so good that we had them twice. It was worth every cent.

The biggest treasure of Hilton Sharks Bay is their stuff (not all of them, unfortunately). It feels so nice when you come and they recognize you and start smiling. That makes you feel that you’re having your best time.

It was truly great time. So, if you want to have a lot of sea, select first line. If you just need to relax - 2nd line will work better.

My husband and I were honestly really disappointed with the entire establishment. listed that there are multiple pools , easy transportation and free wifi but really they only allow 1 and a half pools to be opened and the “free wifi” is only available outside your room. The wifi is spotty and weak. when you go to your room they block the wifi to make you pay a daily fee to use the wifi.

The transportation is unpredictable and I ended up walking the huge campus most of the time to get to other pools or restaurants.

Ants were everywhere in our room. Room service only came because we called them. other than that they don’t come. Also they try to sell you stuff constantly even calling our room at night to get you to order room service.

The employees seemed unhappy. They look short staffed and we saw daily arguments and yelling from the staff members at one another. We speak Arabic so we knew the content of their arguments.

Food was okay. VERY expensive.

Oh also if you need a corona test to fly they have a clinic on sight but will charge you 75-120 dollars a person to take the test.

All to say the atmosphere was not that great. Pretty annoying surprises that felt like either laziness or like they are trying to cheat us. they try to charge you every chance they get. also its old and there’s a lot of walking.

We left feeling like we needed a vacation from our vacation.

So the hotel has a great location where you have a nice beach with great sea view from most of the rooms, a huge shopping area with places to eat and do other activities "Soho Square" is 5 minutes away on foot.
Was my sister's anniversary during our stay so I wanted to do something nice to her. went to the concierge and all I had in mind was sending a fruit basket to their room.
Met Mr. Wael El Sayed and told him it's my sister's anniversary and before saying anything else he said I can send a cake to her room and I can ask the room service to do some decorations in the room.
I really loved the idea. and before I even tell him so, he continued and said I can also book them in the Italian restaurant which will be less crowded than the main one.
Then he dropped the bomb and said that this all is FREE. I was really speechless, from a fruit basket to this. Couldn't ask for more. People like Wael are the reason I am loyal to Hilton. He made our stay very special and memorable, it really wouldn't have been the same without him. Thank You.

My partner & I are just back from our stay. For a start the staff are so friendly and kind, we had a little package of food ready for us as we arrived after dinner.

We were taken to our room with a garden view by a little golf buggy and it was utterly spotless and well as nicely laid out etc. Our housekeeper, Mohammed, was great. He made adorable or funny shapes out of towels every morning and it was cleaned to a very high standard, as well as leaving us a little potted flower and plenty water each day.

Food was good. I’d have possibly expected a bit more choice but my partner & I found something we liked each day. Mr Asem Ali looked after us for each and every meal, bringing us drinks and remembered what we both wanted. It was a bit hectic, especially the evening meal but to be expected at a busy time of year so just try and go earlier if you don’t want to be hassled.

The entertainment was disappointing. There was a few things through the early day such as darts, water polo, water aerobics etc which was great just a shame this didn’t continue into the evening. We were all inclusive so didn’t plan on going out each evening but mostly had to. We were disappointed to find out there was a show on in the Chill Bar at Hilton 2 that we had to pay entry for so we didn’t bother. We did have great fun on the arranged night out I have to say but was expensive for a ticket and expensive once out. Special mention to Amanda for chatting to us.

There was also a few water slides shut with no explanation when asked.

If you’re wanting to do any external trips, water experiences, quad biking etc, ask for Mostafa. While they all have a commission to make, he enabled us to get a great price and wasn’t forceful. Also, buy your headscarves and cheap sunnies for the trips in the hotel shop. They are far greater quality while being far cheaper than anywhere outside.

Not the hotel you want for nightly entertainment. We could see over the water from the beach that the Four Seasons had fire breathers and all sorts so likely that’s where we’ll stay if we go back to Sharm.

We stayed here for a week in October, and having booked a late deal, we arrived with slight trepidation as the reviews are mixed.
We had no need to worry, as we were immediately upgraded and asked if we wanted to stay at the beach side or the quieter inland part. We chose the inland, and never regretted our decision. Whilst the hotel does need some updating, the rooms were comfortable and kept immaculate, and we appreciated that having had very few customers for years, there isn't any investment. However, the staff more than make up for this, and treated us like Royalty, its amazing what saying please and thankyou achieves, when they are not used to this from the mainly Russian guests.
The beach is around a 5/10 minute walk, but there is a bus there every 25 minutes if you don't fancy the walk. Snorkeling off the jetty is very good, one of the best house reefs I have seen. It can get a bit crowded down there, but once in the water, you soon find space.
Soho square is a 5 minute walk away, and well worth a visit.
Food was pretty good, fairly typical for an Egyptian hotel, but at times above average. We never struggled to find something we enjoyed, usually a choice of fish, chicken or beef, with a pasta station too, and the sweets were definitely tastier than in many Egyptian hotels we have stayed at.
Dive centre at the beach is above average, and we enjoyed 3 days house reef diving and a couple of boat trips. Very reasonable too. They are called Sinai dive club. They arrange snorkeling trips too.
We travelled with Easyjet holidays, absolutely no complaints, and very reasonable too. The Hilton was a good deal cheaper than the others, and whilst you can nit pick about one or two things, for value for money, we don't think it's beatable here. We have booked again, if that says anything.

OK so I don't do reviews too often but this is worth doing... I'll start at the beginning the staff at reception were welcoming and very professional. As soon as you arrive they are looking after you taking your cases and being informative but get you quickly to your rooms. The let down was the restaurant was closed at 2130 so if your flight is a later one you could go hungry, we did get room service and had really very good gourmet burgers with chips and they were not expensive especially with the extra 20% off. The view from the room was of the pool and was really nice to wake up to. The rooms are roomy and the bathroom is a good size with bath and walk in shower with plenty of shampoo shower gel etc... There are plenty of pools to use with a heated pool if the others are too cold.. Swim up bars are good and the staff helpful and friendly. The restaurants are busy as buffet style restaurants usually are but don't think for one minute you don't get good service the staff are probably the best staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, friendly hard working courteous funny entertaining.. I could keep going but I don't want to bore everyone. The food varies to a degree and is of good quality.

Now the entertainment is a bit all over the place not very well organised but if you have little kids the mini disco is good but beyond that not too good. The best entertainment was the Latin dancers that were on our last night it was like strictly on steroids.

There is a bus which takes you down to the beach down a fairly steep hill and the driver is a very friendly chap and was really nice to our little girl.
Room service is consistently good and the towel sculptures are good.

There are plenty of things to do during the day and the entertainment team and lifeguards are friendly and helpful in fact they can't do enough for you. There are a few chaps that come around offering excursions and os on and they are quite good we did the parasailing and that was great.

All in all the hotel and staff are all friendly welcoming respectful hard working polite and professional and are a credit and we will be back.

the first time we entered the hotel room we experienced a great disappointment, the rooms are unfortunately old and worn out for the HILTON Hotel !!!! We were in room 1055 the guy who was cleaning our room made us happy every day with towel figures (see pictures) and asked how we are today which has slowly improved our mood. The kitchen is ok, unfortunately for dessert always the same cakes that spin in a circle, nothing new. All praise for Mr. Mohamed Metwali who does his job very carefully and with a lot of love TOP service.
Now we go to the Restaurant on the beach, our favorite place .. all praise for the guys in the restaurant (bar) who are always in the mood and smiling, there is also fish that was phenomenal that the chef personally served us.
All the best for Guest Relation Manager, who always meets everyone's needs. Greeting

I have just got back home from a one week stay holiday here. I previously stayed here about 11 years ago. We again stayed in the deluxe side of the hotel.

The staff were all so helpful with nothing too much trouble and they all seemed genuinely pleased to welcome back British holiday makers (Ateef in the restaurant, Mohammed life guard round the pool and Zaby (?) at the Splash pool bar were stand out for us). I must say all the staff have a lot of patience with some of the clientele from other nations. A simple smile, please or thank you wouldn't go amiss from said holiday makers and it does go a long way and isn't unnoticed from conversations we had with many of the staff.

The food was simple but was all very tasty and plentiful (not a great deal of variety but that wasn't an issue for us)

We ate at both the Italian and Fish A la carte restaurants where the food was excellent.

The pools were all spotless and the whole place was always busy with people looking after the grounds. Could the rooms need a refresh (possibly) but don't forget the whole tourism industry has been under pressure with COVID and other restrictions in Egypt so I am over looking this. Each country is different don't forget.
Would i come here again - yes I would and hope to very soon.

Hi, I'm not sure about the gluten free option. The food was good. There was always a variety of things to eat every day. We didn't go hungry. They try to be very accomodating, so I'm sure if you asked they would try to meet your needs.

Dear Sirs or Madame, I wish you incredible honeymoon! We were married for many years, but that hotel's staff treated us as asked questions as we were really on honeymoon! That was nice. Answering your questions, I recommend to contact main reception when you arrived there, or simply send email to them. They may offer upgrades, decorations, meals delivery to the room, making loundry, ironing, etc. For sure, they make nice decorations on your bed, and ask what more should be supplied into your room. In case of late check out also I recommend to contact main reception - they made notes and share information with kitchen, and others, etc. I highly recommend to remember about tipping policy in Egipt. It's nice to appreciate them, it makes them happy and more enjoyable their hard work. Egypt is a good choice always. ;] In case of any questions please do not hesitate to contact with me! Wish you all the best. PS: When is your honeymoon? I'm going back to amazing Sharm after 2 weeks again, but try another hotel this time for short trip :)

The new rooms are beach side and its more likley if you are from the UK you will be in the hillside section but these are fine. There are lots of young children there so not unfriendly just make sure you ask for a ground floor room.

I didn't see any just one draft option and that had some alcohol in it but a low percentage. There are plenty of carbonated soft drinks though.
