Nestled in a prime location with picturesque views, the Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh is a favorite for its proximity to Naama Bay and private beaches. Guests often commend the resort for its lively atmosphere and chic decor, alongside a plethora of amenities, including beautiful beaches and diverse dining options, even as some renovations continue.
While the vibrant entertainment and culinary experiences are seen as valuable, a few find them loud and pricey. The staff's attentive and friendly service is routinely celebrated, and cleanliness is generally upheld, although room sizes and thoroughness occasionally come under scrutiny.

We were staying at Movenpick for 10 days and really enjoyed our vacation there. Despite some sharp moments, hotel is a wonderful place with a great people working there. We always had a smile starting from our room which was always clean, through the restaurant, which provided delicious food for us and prepared extra dishes for our 1 year daughter, accompanied by the cleaning territory staff and offcourse animation team.

We stayed for 9 days, it was awesome from beginning to end of our stay. The hotel overviews Naama Bay (special twilight views from Indian restaurant and from the roof top terrace). Rooms are spacy with Arabic touch, Aircon/Fan, Fridge, Balcony, It is equipped with a Gym, Beauty/medical center, 3 restaurants, and large pool area, ATM incl. FOREX. 4 dedicated Hotel beach, spacy, clean and access to coral reefs (snorchling). The Animation Team was active but not intrusive. The hotel staff is overly friendly and attentive, special mention to room service (Mr. Ahmed who looked after our room) and restaurant team (breakfast service under lead of Mr. Sayed). Booking through Accor site was easy, subsequent invoicing/payment accurate and according to booking . All in all a great and rememberable stay, highly recommended, .

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The location and the premises are absolutely great. The personnel tries really hard, to. But the food is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. If there is anything tasty, it's finished in the first half an hour. Not a five star holiday. And the constant nagging: this is not included, this is extra (espresso?!?), alcohol (beer!) before 12AM is extra. Not that there is another, higher all inclusive level you could have bought. I want to repeat: you cannot get an espresso at any time of the day, unless you pay for it. Five star all inclusive my a$$.
Cleanliness. Uf. Room and toilet were almost OK at best, again not a five star grade. I believe cleanliness doesn't have the same value in Egyptian culture, but at Rixos this was absolutely spot perfect.
Oh, and it's FULL of Russians. Although probably a constant in Sharm El Sheikh. Maybe it's them that caused the alcohol ban in the morning :) It's weird to see Egyptians speaking Russian by default.
The main asset is the personnel. They are really friendly and try to help. And probably thanks to the bay area, you can swim in the sea on Christmas, no shivers. Really unexpected, this wasn't the case 15km further north at Rixos.
The location is great, the personnel is great, but the policy: "give'em sub-par food and charge for all the little things" leaves a sour taste.

Thank you for your insights regarding our buffets, although we lament reading that we weren't able to meet your culinary wishes on this occasion, please rest assured that your comments will be shared with our Chefs to enhance our future guests' dining expériences. We understand reading your review that apprently you were not properly informed about your All Inclusive type of meal plan upon reservation and would like to take the opportunity to point out that,as reported on our website, the All Inclusive is related to drinks, meals , snacks and the entertainment program; the room safes, the Parking and the Spa are reported to be available against an extra charge. Rooms are nice and clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, although a bit bored due to very little guests in the resort.
Food in the main restaurant is of very low quality (breakfast and dinner) and prepared a long time in advance and kept warm till served. The Indian Restaurant is very recommendable, food is prepared fresh and is very tasty. Snacks at the pool bar are ok, Horizon Bar is a beautiful location but unfortunately drinks are expensive and not of good quality. Bar-Tender mostly bored and not attentive. Rest of the Food and Beverage Outlets were closed. Most of the time we went outside the hotel for dinner and skipped breakfast several times.
Only one of 4 beaches was open but it was never a problem to get a nice place at any time of the day. Unfortunately the beach restaurant was closed also and only a small selection of drinks was available at the small bar. 4.30pm we were kicked-out of the beach, they "close" the beach!!! As the animation team and spa team and other "sellers" were all the time around, we would have wished for a bit more of "hassle free" time at one of the other beaches...
We missed the ecological aspect a bit. Although the hotel informed, that rooms are done only every 2 days (which was absolutely ok for us) housekeeping came every day and changed all towels every day. Thanks to our housekeeper ElSayeed who has done a very good job.
Over all it was an "OK-stay", but far away from our expectations or from being outstanding.

I loved the space/architecture style, the beach and the corals. Had a room with a sea view on the top floor, which was perfect! The Indian restaurant was a pleasant surprise. HOWEVER 1. Apart from the Indian restaurant, the general food quality of the hotel in general is not very high. 2. While you are relaxing next to the pool or on the beach, you get asked every 10 minutes by people from the resorts offering massage/manicure/photo shooting/water sports ect. Room service/cleaning staff members also regularly 'inexplicitly' ask for tips (i.e. when there are tips, you return to a room with 'towel swans' with flowers on the bed; when there is no tip, no fresh towel). 3. We stayed around xmas and new year, so in Sharm there are lots of outdoor parties with loud disco music going on, and some lasts until 3am. Although the hotel is at the end of the bay and away from the 'party district', the level of noise you can hear from the room was shockingly high. For 3 nights in a row, we could only sleep for a couple of hours. When we asked for earplugs, but the reception told us that they don't have any ... Despite all of this, if I have to come back to Namma Bay, I probably still choose Movenpick, because other resorts nearby can only be worse.

We chose this resort because of the architecture and on that note it did not disappoint. Other high notes entail the pool and beaches (although beach 2 is kind of useless). You can snorkel and see stunning reefs and fish right off the beach. We also found most of the staff to be friendly.
Now for the negatives:
You can’t just enjoy yourself on the beach or by (or even in) the pool. Staff from the spa, aquatics center, etc make rounds trying to get tourists to spend more money. Most take a simple no thank you and carry on, but some are more persistent. We even had an offer to get tattooed by a tattoo master. The animation team has events throughout the day but even they do a bit of heckling to try to get you to participate.
The rooms are outdated and have an old musty smell. The air is at a set temperature and our vent started making a dreadful noise in the middle of the night for quite a while one night. This thankfully subsided or I would have requested a fix or different room. The furniture on the balcony is outdated wood that I did not feel safe sitting on, which was a shame because the view was beautiful. Housekeeping only cleans and changes sheets/ towels every other day (you may be able to request more but this is what the paperwork listed). This meant that during our four night stay that we only got fresh sheets and towels once. This normally isn’t a huge deal, but when dealing with sand it can get annoying.
We were not given any kind of orientation or instruction on the protocols so we didn’t understand how the beaches worked or how you need to sign for your meals (we assumed since it was a buffet and we gave our room number that was sufficient). The beaches and pool both close at 6 PM.
Lastly and truly worst of all was the food at the main restaurant/ buffet. Nothing seemed to be cooked properly. Most things were over cooked with some things being undercooked (like the potatoes). Most food lacked seasoning and flavor and was truly abysmal. Worst of all, one breakfast I received a plate of moldy Gouda cheese. It was visibly hairy and had blueish/green spots. We were appalled when we received a check for two dinner buffets that cost 800LE, around $27 USD a person for the equivalent of bad cafeteria food. We promptly made reservations elsewhere for the rest of our meals that weren’t included. On that night, we highly recommend the Indian Restaurant, Rangoli.

I came with my wife for her birthday celebration, so I tried to contact the hotel in advance by sending and repeating, emails, for over a week, to ask for restaurant reservation and other details, such as a cake with candles.
Nobody answered my emails, moreover when I checked in, and claimed it, the front office, arrogantly said, the matter would be solved now.
To settle, they gave us a room in first floor with problems of shower flooding and terrible smell and dirtiness.
I asked them to come and settle, repeatedly calling for over an hour, and nothing.
Finally someone came, no tools, and dirty hands, on our amenities, I demanded them to change us room, immediately.
They didn’t want, so they said, on an empty hotel , they only had twin bed rooms, no king size bad.
Once again with a very bad attitude.
At this moment I wanted to leave.
Only didn’t because at check in they charged me all stay and not refundable.
So we changed to another mediocre room with twin beds.
At same time I asked to speak with the Duty Manager, explaining the sad situation, he told me , after dinner he would settle with a proper room.
Once again nothing.
I’m checking out today and nobody contacted us again.
Arriving to the restaurant, Rangoli, a good Indian, we had our dinner, a table next to us , also celebrating birthday, with cake and candles, and nothing for us.
They said front office didn’t inform about the event.
Restaurant tried their best, with a complimentary desert, but nothing changed our miserable mood about the hotel attitude.
After this many other episodes showing the total absence of management of staff, such as every morning housekeeping leaving on our beds designed hearts by dirty towels coming who knows, from used towels of other rooms.
I had to tell them not to do it again.
Empty gel dispensers around the facilities, no masks enforced at restaurants, close by the food, dirty and not maintained facilities.
A total disaster, for a place claiming to be 5 star.
My criticism goes to the Accor Group Management.
Where is the Accor’s Critical Mass on inspections?
I am a loyal guest of Accor hotels.
We choose Mövenpick as a brand to be assured of a standard level on facilities and services.
During our trip around Egypt we stayed at Mövenpick Resort Aswan, where we also cruised at Movenpick Royal Lily , and all was impeccable.
Hard to understand how this terrible place , focused on cheap tour guests, carrying the Mövenpick brand , and cheating loyal guests.
My trust to Accor is not the same anymore.
My second rate star goes only to the beach and Rangoli restaurant, a very good one.
The other facilities , breakfast, pool bar....bad, bad and bad.
And bad attitude.
If you know the meaning of Mövenpick, don’t come to this hotel.

We stayed one week in this resort.
5* is the room and the pool, the beach and as well as the sport facilitating company Scorpion.
Really disappointing is everything about food and drinks.
The buffet restaurant is a cantine not worth 2*.
All main courses available, not many, are either a kind of stew with meat, chicken or veggies. No taste.
The grill station in the cantine served two evenings liver, one evening a whole completely dry tuna and one evening a completely dry turkey. The pasta station over cooks the pasta continuously.
The question why the management is punishing the customers in the hotel? No money? Eventually they want that the customers are going to the restaurants in the hotel which are not all inclusive?
Why are the drinks so poor quality? The beer is without bubbles completely flat. Is it so difficult to serve a proper Lager. The gin is from the cheapest quality and caused stomach burning.
I was scared to taste the wine so I did not.
One thing more. The music in the cantine is in the way that you want to be out asap. Who is thinking that jazz music is appropriate music for a dinner. Eventually for a cigar lounge bar yes but not for a romantic dinner or family dinner. Somebody or many people in the hotel do not understand their job.
Usually I love Movenpick in Europe or Dubai.
Sorry here in Sharm el Sheikh never ever again.
Instead to have so many supervisors and managers bring some people who can cook and serve drinks, which are good quality. This cannot be excused with corona. Either you do a good job or close the hotel if you are not able to.
Really a shame of a hotel brand like Movenpick. I valued the brand but not anymore
5* is the room and the pool, the beach and as well as the sport facilitating company Scorpion.
Really disappointing is everything about food and drinks.

Good:
The hotel is really beautiful and in a great location. The bedroom, bathroom, pool and restaurant all felt really luxourious.
Most of the staff (apart from the bald man in the restaurant and the man at the pool bar) are very nice and friendly.
The price was very reasonable.
Bad:
About half the food was good and half was poor. The inedible creme brulee, falafels, rosti and sausages come to mind.
No fresh juices offered at breakfast and no mocktails at lunch (although alcohol is served?).
Room was not cleaned for two consecutive days, I had to call and request this.
Only three mocktails on the menu.
Don't use the hotel taxi service! I was quoted 280 pounds for a journey, I then walked out of the hotel and a taxi driver said 150 pounds for the same one.

Excellent views, location, and beaches. Staff incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. We loved the character or the rooms and buildings with all the woodwork. We took the all-inclusive option, and recommend always reading through what it entitles. For example, they don't serve wine on the beach, unless you pay extra. They also don't serve alcohol until 12 (unless you pay) which seemed to be a problem for some guests. My favourite thing was to swim in the sea and look at the corals. Lots of options of what to do including diving, parasailing, horseback riding. Also a gym which we used everyday. Options of massages and use of spa. Prepare to haggle there, as we realised that they gave different prices to different people. Thought it was rather pricey. The entertainment staff such as Vika and Seba were very friendly and active. They went around always inviting us and informing us of different activities happening. Such as stretching on the beach, volleyball, and the programme for the evening. They also entertained the kids. As for meals, at Liwa restaurant there was always lots of options to eat. Pizza and pasta were always available as a good option for kids. Lots of differenty types of bread, salads, desserts and fruits. Have also read that some people have written that only if they gave a few dollars did they recieve their drinks. I can say that sometimes it took time to receive drinks, but otherwise we always so greeted the staff and we never gave any money to them and found them always willing to help us and take care of us. Naama bay was within walking distance.

Hi There, Yes the hotel is renovating half of the property as mentioned on their web site, it is not too bothersome especially if you're out and about. But if you want quiet moments during the day then that's not gonna happen. As mentioned in my review, they use loud speakers at the beach and pool to play non-stop music to drawn the construction noises. However the rooms are quiet.
Cheers
