I stayed in this hotel in 2012 and 2013. At that time its manager was Mr. Amin, a very nice and collaborative gentleman. Staff were nice and helpful. Of course the bathrooms had problems due to lack of proper maintenance, however, we were offered to choose any empty room we liked . I read other traveler's review. What people need...

Location: I've been to St Catherine twice and stayed at different hotels and after asking several tour leaders it is clear that there are simply no "proper" hotel in this small town. That is a sad reality especially considering the location is breathtaking, with rock mountains majestically surrounding the place and it is not far from the St Catherine Monastery....

Dreadful experience. A tremendous amount of flies enjoy your (stale) meal even before you taste it. A cat wanders in the dining hall, begging for food. Dry garden, empty pool. Literally in ruin. Please do not talk about "local standards"...much more better sleeping with a roof of stars...

This is a terrible hotel and you should avoid it. The pictures look good but that's not reality. It's in a good location with good views and that's about it. The rooms were okay. The food was terrible. The bathrooms dirty and the worst of all the staff was rude. They seemed to be doing us a favour.

There were hairs all over our walls and the floor. There were dead mosquitoes also covering the walls. Regardless of whether you got your room cleaned, it stayed dirty. And it was noisy as hell. The staff is badly behaved and the General Manager, Mr. Amin Abdul Ghani, wants to marry all married women. Poor service, smelly staff. Yuck!

Dirty: There were hairs all over my room and in the smallest bathroom Arabs could have built. It was noisy as hell, this hotel is not for peaceful retreats in St. Katherine. The staff is ill-mannered, and if you're a woman and you dare to use the balconies at this place, the staff members would literally stalk you. And they...

St Catherine's is not a resort town. Ideally, this area should be an place for pilgrims making their trek to visit the monastery. Of course, this is not the case and people are expecting 5 star hotels and amusement parks when they visit here. I found El Wady El Mouqudess Hotel very pleasant. I was here with my husband and...

The front of the hotel was very nice with beautiful reception area and rooms. Unfortunately, as I was travelling with my Egyptian husband they gave us an older room on the back. The room was not very clean, towels were provided for 1 person only, and the door would not lock. I even found a pin in my bed. An...

It's all about expectations and mine weren't particularly high. So I was pleasantly suprised to find that the hotel is perfectly okay. Hot and cold running water, AC, fridge, cooked breakfast, plenty of parking space across the road. And all for LE150 for a double room - excellent value for money. We only stayed 1 night for a trek up...

Well, the first thing you must know is that St. Catherine's village is not a huge resort town! It's at the foot of Mt. Sinai and people come here for basically two purposes: seeing the monastery and climbing Mt. Sinai (Mount Musa), and perhaps ride camels or go on a jeep desert safari. And that's it. It is not a...
