The Imperial Shams Abu Soma Hotel garners praise for its friendly staff, who are frequently mentioned for their professionalism and engaging entertainment. Guests are charmed by the hotel's stylish atmosphere and enjoy the array of amenities, including stunning beaches and lively poolside activities. While the rooms are appreciated for their spaciousness, some visitors suggest that they could benefit from modern updates and better furnishings.
Despite the cleanliness being a highlight, with well-maintained spaces, the value perception is mixed due to additional costs and service concerns. The hotel's location is widely appreciated for its convenience and proximity to the beach.

Detailed Reviews
I spent 7 days in this hotel with my family.. the first impression is that the hotel is full of local people. They don't have a culture, if you go to lunch they lie down on your sunbeds on the beach, they leave trash everywhere, they come in big groups and you can never have peace. I immediately want to praise the staff of the restaurant, which I liked the most. The guys who work in the restaurant immediately clean up tables, if you need anything you can ask them and they will do everything to make you satisfied 👍🏼 The food was average for me. there were a lot of traditional dishes that I'm not familiar with, but there was also always fish, chicken, rice, macaroni, so we never went hungry ..
The lobby and the hotel in general are clean, except for the pool, where we never swam. At 6am the towels are already on the sunbeds and the water gets a lot dirty during the day. The beach is clean, the water is shallow and can’t swim there but we certainly enjoyed it..
The worst impression for me is the room. There is no real air conditioning in the rooms, but something similar to ventilation. It the air at the room never cools down. I was in room 57, the room is on the ground floor and have a nice view of the pool. The valets of that room are terrible. if you are not there when they arrive, they will not change your towels. For the last 3 days, they haven't changed our towels even once. I left them in a visible place so that he would know that he should replace them, but he just stacked them and put them back as if they were clean. That annoyed me the most 🤯
I'll just add that wifi costs $20 for seven days, I think. Free wifi is not available in the lobby either. You will get water in small bottles when you arrive at the hotel and then you refill those bottles yourself at the water dispensers, you will not get a new bottle during your stay.
In my opinion, compared to European hotels, this hotel deserves at most 3 stars.
If you have already decided on this hotel, good luck... you will probably go on trips and tours like us, so your vacation will pass quickly. When we come back everything bad are forgotten, I just wanted to use this comment to guide people who are still thinking about hotel..

At the end of September 2021, we spent two weeks in Imperial Sharsm.
We've been to Egypt a lot for the first time.
The hotel is clean, the sea is slowly deepening, it offers a wonderful warmth, a huge opportunity for surf lovers and newcomers.
The restaurant is clean, with a wide variety of dishes from which you can always find something you like.
The food is delicious and tastefully served.
Everything was always enough.
The staff is friendly, clean and helpful.
We met a particularly good and attentive person with a good heart in the person of Chef Serif Gebely!
The great value of the hotel and the guarantee of quality.
The carabies were adequate and clean.
The wellness team is fair and expert.
We did a wonderful quad battle with only one accompanying couple in the desert to the living sea, it was beautiful.
On the downside, it is far from the center of Hurghada and the hotel does not organize affordable freight trips there.
We will definitely be back!

I visited this hotel in August with my family. I have to say, I liked this hotel from the first moment. Beautiful surroundings, everything was very close to each other: restaurant, rooms, swimming pool, sea... One could enjoy a peaceful holiday.
I was curious about the animation team because on such types of vacations I like to be involved in all activities. Their offerings were varied, the most liked aktivity for me was dancing and zumba. Their animation team was great. They were smiling, witty and helpful. The pity was that too many people didn't want to get involved, which I don't understand. On the other hand, it was really hot, fortunately the wind was blowing too.
The beach was sandy, sometimes the rest of the coral bedrock in the sea, but no water shoes are needed. The sea is shallow, you can't swim much. Local businessmen walk the beach trying to sell you something, but if you tell them you don't want anything, they move on. We used massages in the hotel SPA centre. The masseurs were skilful. If someone wants to lie on the beach without any interruptions, there is a relax ing zone where it is quiet.
There is a fitness area above the SPA centre, where there is free access. I liked the view from the treadmill to the sea.
The food in the restaurant was typical of the Arabic way of cooking. Plenty of choice and I have highlighted to season and spice up meals, I have comparisons with other hotels in Egypt or Tunis and here it was the best of them.
The cleaning in the room was done every day, always tidy, clean towels.
All the hotel staff were nice.
I would recommend this hotel for a quiet holiday when people want to relax, not deal with anything and relax while doing some activity with animators.

My family and I stayed at the Imperial for about 8 days this past July. I've been to many parts of the world and I always go with an opened mind. I understand every culture is different and separate regions have different standards. However, I can honestly tell you that this hotel has a lot to fix in order to maintain the standards of other hotels in Hurghada. I kid you not, the menu never changed. NOT ONCE! It was the same meals every night, even though they advertised a different theme night every night. There was no ice at any of the bars. The temperature was at around 38 to 41 Celsius and not a single drink came with ice. Only the beers were cooled. The beach restaurant only served the same two items everyday. Worst restaurant management I have ever seen. Building maintenance was also lacking. The elevators were broken just about everyday and the AC in the rooms was not effective. No AC at any of the common areas (bars, restaurant, conference room, lobby or hallways). Additionally, there is a "clinic" on site but it is so poorly equipped, and operated. Just hope you need to use their services. Also, too many additional cost for an "all Inclusive" resort. The Spa was charging 10 Euros just to use the hot tub, WIFI was 20 Euros, Mojitos, Pina Colada or any known cocktail was additional 5 to 6 Euros. Also, the slides for the kids only open between certain hours. There were some positive nd it was only due to the staff. The Lobby personnel, some of the bartenders, waiters and animation team worked really hard. They were all really helpful, pleasant and went out of their wats to make you were taken care of. Sadly they didn't have the equipment or management to make them more successful at their job. I cannot recommend the Imperial Shams Abu Soma.

Hotel very small, old and dirty.
The hotel was typical for Arabs, the rest of the guests were treated worse, e.g. we were given old, washed towels and the Arabians new ones, and they were often served without queuing. The rooms were old, worn out and dirty - you had to ask for a large or small towel, the air conditioning cooled the room for 3 days. The lunch box contained a hard-boiled egg, processed cheese, an old roll and a bad juice. Breakfast in this hotel is a mess - old, dry bread, no cold meats, no vegetables, basically only an omelette or fried bread was edible. Lunch and dinner, huge queues for everything, sun loungers at the pool occupied from the morning. Nice beach, no reef.
The ala carte restaurant was booked a week in advance with no chance of having dinner there.
Advantages:
The bar is open until 6 a.m. and serves all alcohol from the menu
Beer poured from bottles
Defects:
1 bottle of 0.5 l of water per person only on the first day of your stay, then you have to refill it or buy it - the Egyptians had it every day. Small dirty swimming pool, no reef, poor animations and useless music during the day, no room cards, only keys. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner very average, small selection and huge queues for everything.

Ok, clean rooms, nice service and atmosphere. Great dive sites. Shallow access to the water. Lots of sun loungers on the beach. Animations ok, not too intrusive. Somewhat windy weather in May. It's worth seeing the local life in Safaga. Towels are changed every day, it is worth writing to ask the staff to deliver water to the room.

Excellent service, amazing price for everything you get, rooms cleaned perfectly, good pools, gym, spa is cheap too. Drinks could be more to choose from but the ones that they have are really good. The food is amazing with different cuisines every day. Close to the beach. Lovely water, great temperature, no jellyfish and no other fish which makes the whole experience so much better. Bars are open all day and they are everywhere. Great experience! Beautiful hotel and big too.

A very good holiday, the room was average, not completely clean, but we didn't go here because of the room. The sea is beautiful, clean, gradual entrance, you could snorkel, you can see small corals and fish. The food was very tasty, although there wasn't a huge selection, but you can still choose and everything was well seasoned. A large selection of local drinks and mixed cocktails. All staff throughout the hotel: smiling, welcoming and helpful. The animation program is good, different every day, the animators tried very hard. I recommend buying boat trips directly from the sellers on the beach, they are very nice, and the quality of the trip is very high. I was very satisfied from start to finish. We will definitely come back here again.

+1
Hotel frankly on top. The host, despite being mostly with a German, Czech and English clientele, makes an effort to speak French. The place is superb, accessible to people with reduced mobility, and impeccable cleanliness.
The restaurant is really top, offering very varied meals and themes. The food is very good and the staff very pleasant.
The first price rooms are not of any youth but are very large and clean. We were very badly placed (above the technical room and the supply - room 426) but it absolutely did not taint our stay, the rooms were well insulated and above all, we made many excursions.
Evening activities are rare out of season but there are (we were from 2 to 16/11)
The beach in front of the hotel is nice but you have to put your towels down before 7am if you want a place (don t worry, people respect and do not touch your towels) only the sellers of excursions on the beach are a little too present and insistent from 10am but they remain quite nice overall.
The environment is really relaxing.

Basically everything is there in this hotel, but it still doesn't feel "finished". The rooms are very outdated, there is a lack of maintenance, it is unclear whether this was caused by Corona or simply by poor management. The staff at the pool/beach are helpful and the chamberlains are also very friendly. The reception is very businesslike, we did not really feel like a welcome guest. There are several swimming pools, the smallest of which appeared to be heated a bit and the rest were not. In January it is quite cold and there is a lot of wind. The water at the slides and the adjacent resort is also not heated. The food is present in large quantities, in terms of taste it is not refined. We mainly found it disturbing that smoking is allowed in many places (both indoors and outdoors). Keep this in mind if you want to go with children! On the beach there are many sellers who try quite persistently to sell their wares. There is a spa where you can get a massage for a reasonable price.
There is a kite surfing school next to the hotel and you can go snorkeling on a boat.
