Location is great and safe. Very charming hostal. At the end of the street there is a bench were you can seat and watch the ocean. Breakfast is ok. Our room had a partial ocean view, nice and clean. We felt home here.

Nice little hidden gem. We are backpacking around Ecuador and our flight came into Manta at 6:45AM. We arrived at Hostel María José around 8AM and they got us a room right away. We went to Hostel Blue Pacific first but they were overpriced and said they couldn't get us in our room until 3PM. We have a gorgeous ocean...

We had a wonderful stay in this hostel! It feels like at home, they make you feel welcome, for sure warm and nice people! The rooms are clean, nice and there is a pool to relax and take a little swim. The location is near to the beach and close to the center! I think the best pick in Manta!

We arrived in Manta by the bus, coming from Bahia de Caraquez. It was a 70's style home that has been converted to a hostel. The owner/manager was very friendly, and when we saw the rooms in the lower section, deemed them too dark and small, we were immediately shown to upstairs rooms overlooking the pool. There were some things...

It feels like being in your own home as the family is about, very friendly although they don't speak English. turned down low the second day.A/c sseemed An...

Spacious room, close to town, good breakfast (although eggs would have been nice). Good value overall - we bargained a deal for more than two rooms. After asking around in a couple of places this was the best deal around. If you don't like dogs this may not suit you. Owner has two dogs around but they are generally well...

Friendly seaside hotel with small pool and loungers. This hotel is clean and comfortable and good value for money. The breakfast was good but basic although we could have had additional food if we wanted. The showers had power and were hot, great beds. This hotel is very central for night life but far enough away to avoid the noise....

After searching Trip Advisor for decent rates and amenities in a Hostal or hotel in Manta we found none. We took to the streets and on the same street(Calle 29) we found Antares Spa for $58 and across the street we found Maria Jose for $50.00. We stayed at Maria Jose for 5 nights and had a very comfortable stay...
