We stayed 4 nights in Cucuve Suites. Positives: 1. Air conditioning! It was very hot and humid and the air conditioning in our room ensured that we had a good quality sleep. 2. Breakfast. Basic European style but very good. The Bircher muesli was excellent. For those looking for a more American style breakfast (bacon etc) this might not suffice. 3. Rooms are clean and quite spacious. Negatives: 1. It lacks the friendly atmosphere of many of the other hotels we stayed at in Ecuador. The staff are polite and efficient but I did miss talking to the local dueño which we did in many other hotels in Ecuador. 2. No swimming pool. They have a beach club near the water but if you want to swim it is very open-water there and does not make up for the lack of a swimming pool. Overall this was not a bad base in Puerto Ayora for what we paid (about 300 AUD per night).

This is a small, boutique hotel (7 rooms only) that is located very convenient to the main street (Ave. Charles Darwin). The hotel is clean (spotless) and the rooms are spacious. The staff (Ana and Christian) were available most of the time and responded to all our needs. Breakfast was excellent with fruit, breads, cheeses, sausages, eggs, and coffee/tea. The breakfast room was just outside our room so we could have expresso coffee or tea at any time. The decor is modern and the bathroom was reasonably spacious. There was a desk in the bedroom and I was able to do some work on my computer. Security at the hotel is very good; they lock up at 7 pm every night and access is only through a key fob. We enjoyed ourselves immensely during our stay in Puerto Ayora (6 days) and definitely will go back to this hotel again when we return in a couple of years (we are planning to do so).

We came off a scuba liveaboard arriving here needing some serious R&R and a good shower. This hotel is so comfortable, clean, quaint, and the service is wonderful. We slept like babies and seriously enjoyed the spacious rain shower and big fan above the bed. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and obviously made with care. We were getting up early for scuba diving and the cook made sure we got a little something to eat and run with on the days we didn't sit down. I definitely recommend this extremely central location and hope to return to Galapagos and stay here again. Thank you!

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. We did a DIY Galapagos trip and Santa Cruz was our last island. We arrived at the cruise terminal from San Cristobal to Puerto Ayora. The hotel would have picked us up but i didn't realize there were two ferry ports so they didn't know which one to get us from. Not a big issue, the hotel was within walking distance from the pier. When we arrived we did not have to wait too long for our room to be ready. we arrived a little after 9am. i really liked how the hotel provided us with our room on arrival. The room was nice and a big size. I thought i had pictures of the room and bathroom but apparently i do not. the pictures are the same as the others. Good size safe also. The bathroom is a nice size and the rainshower is awesome. good hot water and pressure. There is a mini fridge in the room. there is no microwave in the room, but you don't need one the breakfast kitchen area has a microwave and a toaster that is available for use 24/7. i loved the breakfast room area. not only do they have a good breakfast, but they offer coffee/tea and various snacks and cookies 24/7. I wish more hotels provided this amenity. I loved the coconut cookies. They have a variety of teas however black tea (English Breakfast) or similar) is limited. we had our own so that wasn't much of an issue. They offer filtered water as well but only at the water cooler or in the kitchen. They give you a carafe of filtered water in the bathroom which is filled every day. The breakfast was great, a variety of options, breads and spreads along with made to order eggs. They also had this muesli/oatmeal which was soooo good. I ate that every day often getting more than one serving. I should have asked for the recipe. Fresh fruit was also provided. If i ever visit Santa Cruz again i will definitely stay at Hotel Cucuve. The staff especially Ana at the front desk was a delight. She was very helpful with every aspect of the stay. The hotel has a boutique type of vibe. It is a small hotel not many rooms but it feels like a hotel (not someone's house like some hotels in the Galapagos) and truly was a relaxing stay.It is not recommended for those with mobility issues. The hotel is on the 2nd floor. The entrance has a flight of stairs with rooms either on the 2nd floor or 3rd floor of the building.

The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and several tourist shops, as well as the water. They provide a small pitcher of water and a glass in your room, and there is a place to refill the water in the breakfast area. Concerning ADA, as soon as you enter the hotel you go up one flight of stairs to the lobby. The hotel provides a robe and slippers, as well as a tote bag and water bottle. They provide an airport transfer (for a fee) and also provide detailed instructions on navigating the entry requirements for the Galapagos, which was a life saver. There is laundry across the street as well as a convenience store a couple of buildings away. Overall this is a fantastic hotel and I would stay there again.

We could not have asked for a nicer hotel! It was our home base for 11 days in Galapagos. The room was exceptional and the hotel is very clean and has all that you would need. It is centrally located. Breakfast was wonderful and Henrietta prepared it perfectly. All of the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. A very special thanks to Ana who gave us excellent recommendations and Shaina who also helped us when Ana was off. Cucuve is truly your home in Galapagos. We are looking forward to returning.

This hotel is wonderful in every way! Not only is this eco hotel comfortable, spacious and very clean, but the staff is phenomenal. Ana Isabel was so communicative and thoughtful along the way. She was especially empathetic when we missed our initial flight to the Galápagos. She was able to give sound advice to help us maneuver through the last minute changes before we even arrived at Cucuve. Shania was also very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again should we return.

The hotel is right off the main road with a door that opens to walk up stairs. The stairs take you to a clean, refreshing modern lobby. The staff is polite, helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our room was clean and had a huge bathroom. The best was all day coffee/tea and snacks as well as a central “mini bar” where you could grab a drink or soda at night. The breakfast is buffet style offering the typical breakfast: bread/toast & butter/jam plus fruit, scrambled eggs, juice & coffee/tea. All good. Definitely a nice, safe and convenient option for Santa Cruz!

This was a fabulous stay at Hotel Cucuve Galapagos! We stayed here for 1 week, and always looked forward to coming back to our room after a day of adventures. We always looked forward to the breakfasts, including eggs, various cheeses, yogurt, and of course, self serve coffee. Staff made our stay extra special as well, including Hanna and Christian. So many great things within walking distance, including the Fisherman’s Wharf where you can watch seals, Frigate birds, and Pelicans wait for fish scraps. We also walked to the Charles Darwin Research Station; the docks to see seals sleeping on benches and baby sharks swimming in the lit waters; Tortuga Bay; and many great restaurants and souvenir shopping. Many great memories! They also provided dark chocolate in our rooms every day, which I enjoyed, and free water bottles.

The suite is really nice, with a central location. Service is good. The rooms are well prepared and the best part is that they have slippers in the room (which is not common to see in Galapagos, at least according to my experiences). The snacks and breakfast are also great.
