No one was there when I arrived and when the owner showed up she took me to a room that was dirty, and smelled very horrible. She did give me a different room when I told her I would have to leave. Eating area was dirty, very loud & inconvenience neighborhood at night. The owner is very kind and helpful which made up for a lot and she did give me a good room but only after I was really freaked out. She also did arrange a very nice and reasonable tour of incredible areas on Santa Cruz.

I enjoyed talking to the couple that runs this place and they are insanely helpful and friendly. I also got amazing breakfast and even a dinner once. The only downside is that the rooms are not that comfortable and dark. They'll give you a bike to cycle to the port. Five stars for the host but less for the quality of the rooms. Also five stars for Luna, the dog.

Great place with amazing hosts! Nelyza treated us like family and helped us organize things to do all week. Rooms are large with a/c, hot water, and private bathrooms. Couldn't ask anything more from a host or property. Thank you Nelyza!

Nelly's place had a lot of character, you walk in and the main area is open and filled with plants and flowers and murals. The rooms are comfortable with ac and hot showers, your clothes and towels are washed and folded every day, and Nelly lets you used her big kitchen and will give you as much space and privacy as you want to cook and use the common areas. She had tons of recommendations of what to do, and offered to arrange trips for us, and always jumped up to give us a ride into town in her pickup (even though it's only about a 10 minute walk). We were weary of getting charged for things she offered to lend, like wetsuits, but when we asked the price beforehand she let us use them for free. She treated us like family, helping us cook, giving us fresh fruit and bread and afternoon snacks, and she taught us how to marinate and grill fish and make ceviche! Truly we've never had a host so generous and helpful, we felt completely at home and highly recommend staying there!

We loved staying at Nelyza. Her place is not right in the port, it is a little more north, 10 minuts walk from the bay. We loved being there, as we felt we living like galapagos inhabitants. The place is absolutely cute, many trees, plants in the courtyard, the rooms a perfect: an equiped kitchen, air conditionning, hot water... we loved this place Nelyza was always there to help us with any thing, sharing some excellent food (her fish recipe is excellent), telling us about the galapagos, some very interesting story that we loved to hear, and changed our galapagos experience.

Good room with kitchen, shared garden/eating, barbecue, shared big kitchen. Room are easy to find once you know the way. You can use bycicles, snorkeliing etc. Nelly is an excellent host who helps with everything, can give good travel trips, arrange things etc. Supermarket close by to buy for breakfast and dinners. Good affordable accomodation.

My mom and I decided to come to the Galapagos since it was her dream trip and I had been studying in Ecuador and we loved our stay at Nelly's! The location is a little far from town but is still walkable or you can get a taxi back. The room we stayed in was very nice. Two beds, a table, TV, kitchen area, and a bathroom. They provided drinks to buy as well as fresh fruit that they grew and gave us breakfast twice. They helped us book tours for our week and made sure we got the best deals! On the mornings of our tours Claudio would drive us to the pick up point and make sure we made it to our groups! I was able to speak decent Spanish and talk with them but they were not able to speak much English. Their son speaks very good English though! They do include a pick up from the dock area but I think we arrived before they were expecting and had to borrow a random girl's phone to call and figure out where they were. I would 100% stay here again the next time we are in the Galapagos!!
