I chose to stay at Solymar based on all the pictures that I saw of the wildlife that seems to live on the hotel grounds and we were not disappointed. According to the staff, there are 4 resident sea lions that like to "hang out" at the hotel, sleeping on the benches and around the bar, even occasionally taking a... More

Stayed at Hotel Solymar as part of our 5 week honeymoon in Central America! We had just come off a small boat tour of the North and South Galapagos Islands, with a group. It was great to come to Hotel Solymar to class up our Honeymoon. The rooms were fresh and clean, gorgeous balconies, air conditioning, and friendly and extremely... More

This hotel was clean and simple. It is on the water, but no beach. It is right in the center of town, perfect to walk to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel staff remembers your name and room number which is good because they can keep the key at the front desk in case you don't want to carry... More

The best service! Good restaurant, we guess the best at the island. We stayed for 6 nights, and recommend it! Very helpful staff.

We actually stayed at the brand new hotel built by SolyMar directly across the road from the current hotel and it was amazing. We got an incredible price for the hotel and they were able to customize an itinerary for us an accomodate all requests. The view from both hotels is amazing although the original location has all Oceanview rooms... More

We stayed at the isla sol hotel which newly opened across the street from solymar. The staff were all incredible and so helpful. They also were all fluent in English. The rooms are beautiful and modern though they need some more soundproofing. The meals at solymar restaurant were delicious. Fresh local food and some north American favorites. Location is within... When you're in the Galapagos, you definitely won't want to spend too much time in your hotel. This hotel was a clean, comfortable spot to return to after a day of exploring! There are nearly always sea lions lounging by the bar or resting on lounge chairs, which in my opinion is the only reason you need to choose this... More

I was traveling by myself, so it was lovely to have the benefit of sitting on my deck looking over the water in the evenings instead of feeling caged in. The room was lovely and clean. Nice boutique hotel: small, quaint, nicely designed -modern, very tropical. Rooms were adequate, not large or luxurious, but clean - high ceilings make room appear larger - good feature. Nice little balcony. Beautiful setting on the bay. Second story rooms have excellent views. Very pleasant, accommodating staff. Great sleeping atmosphere - open the patio doors and let the sea breeze... More

The room was really good, but we accepted a sort of "package" that included half pension and some trips, which were quite useless... with regard to the meals, the choice was very poor and it was quite annoying to choose in advance what to eat; with regard to the trips, the only one that was worth it was the visit...
