The Galapagos Chalet is one of Puerto Ayora's best kept secrets. Hidden away on a quiet peninsula across the bay from downtown, Galapagos Chalet has a feel of quiet, tropical seclusion in one of the town's most convenient properties. Located along the footpath leading to the iconic Las Grietas, you are literally only steps away from fine dining, a beautiful white sand beach, and the 24 hour water taxis ready to scurry you back over to the hustle and bustle of Puerto Ayora's touristic downtown. The rooms are spacious, have stunning water views off expansive private hardwood decks and include a small kitchenette for storing sundries and doing light cooking (a full kitchen is also available in the common area in case you wanted to do heavier cooking). Pilar, the owner and manager, treats each guest like family and makes herself available for your every need, from booking adventure excursions to recommending the best traditional seafood in town. My stay at the Galapagos Chalet was much more than a visit to a typical hotel or resort, it was like coming home to the most beautiful and nature-filled place on Earth. To quote The Terminator, "I'll be back"!…
Pilar, our host, was extremely gracious, helpful, and friendly. Her Chalet is a bed and breakfast feel. It is very spacious, romantic, and peaceful. You can see the stars at night. It's a scenic 1-2 min boat ride from the main port (Puerto Ayora). She went out of the way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. She made wonderful recommendations for food, sights, and general tips on getting around the Galapagos Islands. We are recommending this chalet to our friends who want to visit the island.
I recently stayed at Galapagos Chalet and I very much enjoyed my stay. A friendly welcome by the owner, a clean room every day and a nice breakfast. Located near a remote beach where you can relax and enjoy a nice swim. The Galapagos Chalet stands for peace and quiet. The owner is an excellent guide and knows all the best places to visit and enjoy the islands. Sabine (Belgium).
I stayed at Galapagos Chalet for 5 days and i loved it! The environment in which it is located makes it a quiet and peaceful stay. The personell were great and the hotel's infrastructure made the room stay cool during hot days. Personally, I'm an eco-friendly person, and the fact that the hotel is an Eco-hotel, makes the stay very pleasant. The hotel is for various types of people ex: Married, Family or solo (like me) because it's suited for all these different purposes, specially the rooms, which for the prize I paid I found the room to be very satisfactory.
