We stayed at this hotel twice. The first room we had was ok aircon worked well. The rooms aren't huge but we still managed with two suitcases. The staff are really friendly and are happy to make your bed up everyday (we said it was not needed) but clean towels were provided everyday without asking. The plunge pool is ok and it gets the sun just before midday for a few hours. It did get very dirty but it was then emptied a day later and refilled. On our second stay our room smelt a little mouldy and the aircon was not that great but still good enough. The pool was green and cloudy for both days I was definately not risking getting in. The hotel had good WiFi in the rooms both times. Downside is the curtains are thin letting all the light in from the outside. No breakfast available and i did not see a games room as shown in the images. …
The staff were super helpfull here, and the dining and entrance areas are super nice. However, the room I got was horrible. Not all rooms are like that, as my parents room were way better. So if I had had their room, this review would be different. Only good thing about this room is, that I was able to connect to that belonged to the entrance area. The other internet access for the rooms didn't really work. But that is common all over Galapagos. My room was located just next to the pool - and if you consider staying at this hostel - ask for a different room! Things that were not working right: - There was a window just about the door with no curtains - every time anyone would walk in the entrancearea at night, the light turns off and goes directly into the room, disturbing your sleep. - The room was very humid, and full of small flies in the walls - I guess because of humidity. The bathroom was even more humid. Because of the humidity I was not able to dry any clotes/bikinis in there, and had to bring it to my parents room. - There is a crack between the wall and the door which means, that when it is dark outside and light on the inside, you will be able to look inside from outside next to the wall. Make sure you consider that if you are changing your clothes! - The safety box weren't functioning. we were allowed to store our cash by the counter - however they are not open at night and early morning.…
Breakfast was simple, but included. There was toast and something hot each morning, along with juice and coffee. There was a water jug where we could refill our water bottles with cold water, as much as needed. A staff member went to a pharmacy around the corner with me to help me get some medicine to put on my bug bites! So nice! The room was small and basic, but the beds were comfortable. My kids enjoyed the small pool after our hot days. Housekeeping was great and helped us once when we somehow locked ourselves out of the bathroom. Air conditioning worked well. The location was within easy walking distance to the port, shops, and restaurants, but taxis were only $1.50, when we were too hot to walk. There was hot water in the good-sized shower. I did have to hang our towels on the windows to keep the sun/light out because we only had a super sheer curtain, but it looked like other rooms had blackout curtains. Our room was on the 2nd floor and there was a light coming into our window from a gym across the way. It was fine after I hung our extra towels, though :) There was a small table with two chairs and some closet space and drawers. It was not luxury, but perfect for our needs.…
We stayed for 4 nights and were not really happy with our stay. The room was big, as we had a 4 persons room so that was a plus. The location is good, close to the main road with all shops and restaurants. Also 10 minutes walk to the trail to go to Tortuga beach and 10 minutes to the dock where the ferries to the other islands leave. The room was not clean and smelled musty. There was mold in the curtains and corners of the room. A good scrub of the bathroom and room would really improve things! We did not had warm water for 3 nights. We asked about it but it was only fixed after the 3rd night. But it did not help. Breakfast was fine and the ability to refill your water bottle was good. WiFi only good in the lobby, not really fast but this seems to be everywhere on the island.
We enjoyed our time here, for a great stay close to town, and a very accommodating host - Janina was super nice. Air conditioning worked great and we were able to sleep well. The only thing was the water went from hot to cold - but I don't think that was typical. A good find for us 😁 I would recommen
I really enjoyed my stay with North Seymour! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The AC worked well and so did the Tv. The wifi in the rooms was a bit patchy but it was the same across all islands I visited. The wifi in the social areas is much better. Also, the location of the hotel was excellent! It's about a 5-minute walk to the port and the centre of town but it's on the outskirts so that it's quiet at night and you can sleep well. They also offer daily breakfast included in the room and the variety of breakfast every day was awesome. It really helped me start my day knowing I could just go down and have a lovely breakfast before heading out. My only advise to the hotel is to put signs in the rooms asking guests to leave the towels hanging if they don't mind reusing them. They changed my towels every night and I think it's unnecessary and a waste of water and energy, so it would be nice for guests that are a bit more eco-conscious to have the option to reuse their towels for longer. Other than that, a great stay and I regretted not booking North Seymour hotel in my last night at Santa Cruz when I came back from Isabela. It would be go-to hotel if I visit Santa Cruz in the future!…
Terrible very loud mechanical nouse on 3rd floor on and off every 5 to 15 min during day and night. It's may be a watertank, compressor or something on the roof, i think. Do not stay on that floor or not pay until you check it all.
We stayed here on our very first night of arriving in the Galapagos, the room was a nice size, clean and airy and had hot water. It is about 15-minute walk from the main port area where all the action is so we suspect its a quieter stay than some of the hostels. The staff were polite and helpful, we left too early for breakfast so we cannot comment on this, however, you can see the seating area when you arrive and it looked clean and well presented. For budget-friendly travel in a quieter part of town - North Seymour is a great choice.
We stayed here for 4 nights and were impressed from the first greeting. The manager was friendly and very helpful, the room was clean, the neighborhood was quiet, the breakfast buffet was excellent! I would most definitely recommend a stay here.
The hotel was very well located and the rooms were spacious and well kept. Janina was amazing with helping us navigate things to do in the Galapagos and planning our travels prior to arrival. We had an amazing trip and would highly suggest staying and if possible working with her to plan your trip to the Galapagos.
