La Peregrina Galapagos B&B is a cozy little hideaway right in the heart of town, across the street from the Pacific Ocean. Lush green garden grounds surround each private room, where a wooden balcony offers access to the fresh ocean breeze and the visits from resident Galapagos finches, yellow warblers and the occasional yellow-crowned night heron. Included in the price are a hearty breakfast and purified drinking water, as well as much-needed amenities like AC, WiFi and showers with both hot and cold water, as well as information about tours. Laundry service, taxis, airport shuttles, and books are also available upon request (for a fee). La Peregrina Galapagos B&B is located on Charles Darwin Avenue, the main tourist area of Puerto Ayora. Cross the street to see pelicans and sea lions begging for a bite at the famous Fisherman’s Dock while marine iguanas lazily sunbathe, hear the waves gently lapping against the mangroves, and, if you're up early, enjoy an inspiring view of the sun rising over Pelican Bay. Souvenir shops, art galleries and restaurants can be found both left and right, and you will only be a 5-10 minute walk away from the starting point of attractions like the Tortoise Breeding center, the Ceramic Garden, the aforementioned Fisherman’s Dock, the Artisan Dock, Nymph Lagoon, the walk to Tortuga Bay, and the main pier from where the day tours start. When you book your stay with us, feel free to reach out about any and all questions you may have about your upcoming trip to the Galapagos Islands. We will do our best to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. Welcome to La Peregrina Galapagos B&B!

I visited the Galapagos Islands in December on a land based journey and was looking for affordable accomodation that is still comfortable enough. I could not have made a better choice than La Peregrina! I wrote to them to ask about available rooms and rates and got a very fast answer by Ingela, she was very helpful with other recommendations as well. On the day I arrived, check in by Jasmin was quick and smooth and very friendly. I had booked a single room, which could easily fit two persons, was very clean with a nice small bathroom, a tv (I never turned it on), fluffy towels, a very comfortable bed and a wonderful small balcony that looked out to the beautiful gardens. I sat there each evening to enjoy a drink and watch some news on the internet (which was no problem - the wifi is slow, but nevertheless it was working well). The breakfast was very good, too, with bread and jam, an egg dish each morning, fruits, coffee and juice, and served in an half-open area looking to the gardens as well.
On my check-out day, I could store my luggage safely at the reception area and walk to the beach again before taking the afternoon ferry to San Cristobal.
Overall, this was the perfect start to my first visit to the amazing Galapagos Islands. Very centrally located (actually in the middle of everything and still so quiet at night), very friendly people working there and fantastic value for money. I would go back in a heartbeat!

This place is lovely! The manager emailed us a few weeks before our trip and helped us plan our stay. She recommended excellent restaurants and places to visit. The check-in process was smooth. Location is perfect! Walking distance to all of the local shops and restaurant and the main dock where we boarded our 5-day cruise. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. Filtered water available at no charge. The owner even offered to do laundry for me using her own washer and dryer for a very reasonable fee. Wifi is slow, but that is across Galapagos and is to be expected. Highly recommended this cute local business!

If you want a relaxing, convenient, and comfortable stay in Puerto Ayora with attentive and friendly staff look no further. Ingela is particularly excellent; hard working and guest-oriented. This B&B is close to the center of town, so within walking distance of a wide variety of restaurants and shops, as well as the Galápagos National Park offices and Charles Darwin Research Station. The restaurant serves fresh and satisfying breakfasts. I was served fruit juice, oatmeal, an egg and bread. The filtered water in the lobby is handy for filling water bottles for your day's adventures.

I've been traveling to the Archipelago since 1990 and this establishment has been there since then, so they are in it for the long-haul. The rooms are clean, comfortable and cozy. Yes, we all know what cozy means, so if you're looking for spacious luxury this isn't for you. I will be back next year and look forward to another excellent stay at La Peregrina.

We were at La Peregrina for 3 nights and it was such a wonderful place to stay! Our unit was clean and comfortable with a tiled deck in one of their small buildings surrounded by gardens of native trees, plants and flowers. Breakfast each day was freshly made and delicious. But the warmth of the staff is what really stands out. My suitcase had been misplaced by the airline so we arrived with just my husband’s belongings. The manager Ingela immediately helped us with phone calls, and then loaned me some clothes! She directed us to places to pick up clothes and toiletries, and helped arrange some short tours while we waited. Every time we came through the lobby Ingela or Jazmin gave us an update, and they were was excited as we were when the suitcase was found just before we left on our cruise. The entire staff exemplified the spirit of Ecuador and the Galapagos. La Peregrina is in a great location, right in the midst of shops and restaurants, yet tranquil and peaceful. Highly recommended!

Awesome hospitality and customer service. The hostess was very communicative and helpful, offering many Tips and advice. Their family are descendants of one is the original families, the angermeyers, to inhabit the Galapagos and she has lots of interesting stories. The rooms are simple but clean and with AC. Could be improved by having a mini fridge. The host is flexible with breakfast, which was a standard American breakfast. The common space has some hammocks. Excellent location right across from the brewery, harbor and fish market!!

The B&B is fine. The location is what this place makes okay. The breaks fast is simply below average of Ecuador, the staff is uninterested in their guests and their WiFi is simply the worst. The rooms are good and the bathrooms small with little warm water.

I would not stay here again for this price.

Very clean, amazing location and extremely attentive staff! We walked everywhere! So many restaurants and beautiful shops around. Supermarket is also walking distance and have yummy snacks for when you have a full day out on the beach. Beds were super confi and the AC was sooo great!! Wifi is a challenge around the whole island, so don't count on finding amazing reception anywhere, great opportunity to disconnect and just be present and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!

This was conveniently located to lots of shops and restaurants. Cute garden area, and we loved the hammocks. Our study abroad group stayed here and everyone was so helpful and accommodating. They helped our students with laundry at a reasonable price. On days we had to leave early, they made sure we had breakfast. Felt safe as a code was required to enter the lobby.

You can take a taxi or a bus back to the fair point. Just ask where and when the bus runs.

What is the best way to get here from the airport in Baltra?
Answer from Kristine C

If you fly into Baltra there is a bus that will take you to the fairy. Just fallow the masses to find the bus. Then from the fairy no Baltra you will be shuttled across to Santa Cruz. From there you need to take another bus to Porto Ayora. Again, the bus is not hard to miss. I think it is a about $2 and takes 45 min, depending on the stops. The bus will drop you off in the middle of town near the water. From there you can walk to everything.
