From pre-stay communication, to check in to departure, we couldn’t have hoped for more. Cattya took care of us at every moment. She is the epitome of hospitality, from two with very critical hospitality eyes. Truly the best part of our trip!!!
First of all.. TURTLES. Turtles all over the property. There's over an hour of hiking trails on the property alone, and probably dozens of turtles just chomping at the grass all around you. You can see them from your balcony, you can see them during your walk from room to breakfast, they're giant and they're chilling. The hotel itself meets or exceeds all expectations. Good food, wine, super friendly staff, fireplaces, balconies, comfortable beds, and decent enough location (remote forest location, but 15 mins or so in a cab to lots of bars/restaurants/attractions). Keep in mind this is kind of an eco lodge. It is in the middle of a large plot of land full of turtles. They have a pool (during our stay it was a bit too cold to partake), but they are not a pure luxury establishment. The hot water does run out if you're expecting a super long shower. There are no elevators. There isn't a bartender. Having said that, they do have a yoga studio, pool, the lady who makes the food does a great job, they have beers and wine in the fridge for you to enjoy, and they will go above and beyond to help you get the experiences out of galapagos you want. Can't go wrong with this place!…
The hotel was outstanding. I was really impressed with the delicious food. Our manager was superb and very helpful. Wonderful ground , pool and facilities. The food was carefully prepared and it was delicious.
We arrived in early May to a perfectly planned honeymoon adventure. Owner Robert, made some excellent pre-arrival suggestions for activities and turned it to the capable hands of manager Cattya!! What a location! Quiet peaceful and the friendliest staff in South America. The food was fantastic, and it was never an issue getting transportation to town when we wanted it. Cattya arranged our spa day and included a couples massage and a long soak in their pool. We still talk about hearing the jungle around us as we drifted of to sleep - truly paradise!! Great trails through the coffee and fruit trees (led by Saba the resident lab) tortoises and many bird species!! I can see why this is the highest rated property on the island - GREAT service, highly recommend! Book today and give Saba an extra scratch for us!…
Semilla Verde is a wonderful small boutique hotel with comfortable rooms, spectacular wildlife, and delicious meals! We booked their 5 day/4 night package for 4 adults and 5 children (11-15 yrs). They did a great job arranging daily activities for not much more money than we would spent on own. All tour partners/guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Our host, Katrien, was warm and fun to talk to. She kept us informed of our daily schedule and gave great directions on where to find the best beach and restaurant for our free afternoon. Best of all, she was very accommodating to the picky eaters in our group. The grounds are beautiful. The kids love the resident giant tortoise and dog, Oscar and Saba!
We had an excellent experience. Semilla Verde has a beautiful walking trail on the property where we were able to see giant tortoises. Cattya, the hotel manager, was attentive and provided a personalized experience. We look forward to our next opportunity to stay at the property.
The boutique hotel was outstanding. Every detail was thought about and completed without asking. Gorgeous clean quiet grounds with tortoises roaming freely. Food excellent. Attentive staff. Beautiful yoga studio!
This place is relaxing, romantic and beautiful. I remember not wanting to leave the peace and serenity of this place whilst there was so much to explore around Santa Cruz. Here the staff is family, the food is delicious, the trails take you deep into Galapagos natural history and there are wild tortoise’s as well as birds and pristine nature around every corner. Best stay of our honeymoon! Thank you Katrien and Cattya!
We had a lovely 4 night stay with our kids (ages 12, 10, 7) at Semilla Verde! The property is gorgeous and the staff makes you feel like you are part of a family. The kitchen staff made the most delicious breakfasts and Katherine was amazing! While we didn't book our tours directly throught the hotel, Katherine would sit and chat with us about where to go, what to do, where to eat, and the fascinating history of the islands and the property. This hotel is not "in town" but the 13 minute taxi ride is worth the tranquility, beauty, roaming tortoises and all around lovely atmosphere of this hidden gem. Thank you to Katherine and Robert and family!
The best choice on the island! We made the reservation already two years ago but due to COViD we had to keep on postponing which was absolutely no problem for the owners. When we arrived, we received a warm welcome and even an upgrade to an executive room. Cattya, our host has been amazing! She answered even our unspoken questions. The food offered both at breakfast as well as at dinner is great. My children loved the Belgian waffles at breakfast. The hotel is located in the highlands. Away from the husttle in the port but only a 15 minutes drive from the city center. Semilla Verde is the place to be on Santa Cruz. Great place to be and to relax!
