We stayed for one night at this hostal. We booked a twin room with private bathroom. The bathroom was located outside our room, but in the same hallway. Room was quite, clean and spacious. Bathroom is a bit outdated, but also clean. Shower was not hot. Carlos and his wife are very friendly and organized a taxi to the airport for us.
Nestled a few streets back from the main street of Charles Darwin, you find this nicely decorated, clean and well tended hotel (although they call it a hostal), The owner's are a nice elderly couple who live on premises, and tend to your every need,. I stayed there 6 days total, but did some island hopping in between, and they were nice enough to store my luggage in the office free until I came back. You cannot beat the value for your money. For an extra $5, you are served a full breakfast (coffee, juice, fresh fruit, yogurt with granola, eggs and toast). Highly recommend this place!
We were two people arriving after a Galapagos cruise. They have good wifi that works by the office or on the terrace. The room we had was large and would sleep 4 with plenty of room for storage. The room was very clean and the a/c worked great. We appreciated that it was in the quiet part of town. There is a shower by the office to allow you to clean your feet before going to your room. The family is friendly and they made breakfast to our preferences.
Suenos Silvestres is an incredible place to stay. Close to the main street of Puerto Ayora, a short walk that still feels safe at night - no taxi needed. The owners and staff are amazingly kind people who care about their customers. Delicious breakfasts cooked for you. My rooms was spacious and clean with my own bathroom. I had no issues with the wifi and the TV has many channels. Its in a quiet area, thick walls so its easy to relax without hearing other people.
We stayed here for 4 nights and booked last minute and they accommodated us for rooms- it is a very quiet hostal- the rooms are clean and washroom is very spacious and nice and air conditioning works well- they have nice hammocks to relax Internet works at reception and not well in rooms which is typical of Galapagos They serve breakfast here too They provide towels for the beach and you can hang up your wet clothes Traveler tips - eat at the kioskos street as it’s more authentic then the commercialized road by the beach For ALL taxis and excursions shop around at all the places- you shouldn’t pay more than a 100$ to Pinzon or Isabella tour - taxis follow a standard price for all trips - consult with information services that’s located in the centre- there is also a ride share to and from airport which is 8.75$ per person- highly recommended it…
I stayed here on my way home to California. Separated from my group after learning they were leaving from San Cristobal, I took the boat to Puerto Ayora. I was happy to find the hotel immaculate, safe, with a lovely garden and run by charming people. Close enough to main shopping district I ventured out on my own and had dinner. The next morning the lady running the property made me breakfast even though it was not included with my stay. She was very sweet and looked after me well. Thank you!
Hostal Sueños Silvestres is the perfect place to stay in on Santa Cruz Island. The rooms are spotless, bright, and the air condition works perfectly. Shower was spacious and always had hot water. Esther, the owner, is lovely and makes sure you are perfectly happy. She also keeps the place so tidy! The hotel is super close to everything, yet on a quiet street. Breakfast ($7) was yummy, too, and Ester also arranged a private transport for us to the airport. You really can't ask for more, especially for the price. Note that you will have to pay cash. There also is a water dispenser in the breakfast room to fill up your water bottle(s) for the day - a great way to reduce plastic waste on Galapagos.
My husband and I and our college age sons stayed here for 10 days over Christmas. The place could not have been more perfect. First, they gave us our own little suite with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a nice sitting area. We also had access to a little outdoor patio with hammocks. We rocked in them every night while we discussed the day. The rooms were very comfortable and the AC worked great. We had nice hot water for every shower. They did a wonderful job cleaning the rooms every day even when I told them that they didn't have to. They also furnished us beach towels for our stay. The breakfast was delicious. The place is in a perfect location. Off the main drag just enough to be quiet, but close enough to walk anywhere you would want to go within 10 minutes. There are convenience stores close by and many great restaurants to choose from. My favorite thing about this place though is the people! They are wonderful. The internet is good, so we had to use google translate a lot to get through the language barrier. Unfortunately, this girl only knows un poco Espanol. Finally, the best thing that these wonderful hosts did for me was to help me out of a mess. I originally booked another hotel, but I did not realize it was in an industrial area. The people would not return my phone calls, emails or money until Carlos called them for me. Thank you so much Carlos! We would have not had near as much fun if we had not stayed with you!…
This hostel was welcoming from start to finish. The location is great and is very quiet at night. It has aircon which is much needed. The owner was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Even left our bags when we went overnight to other islands. Would recommend as great value for money. Others in the same area with similar price were nowhere near as nice or safe looking.
We stayed for one night, and found the room to be very clean and right next to a nice outdoor space with hammocks. The presumed owner/manager, Carlos, was very kind even though there was a language barrier between us. I did feel a little insecure with the room being on the first floor with only a knob lock, as anyone could walk in from the street if they were so inclined, but that's likely my big-city paranoia and not something to worry about in Puerto Ayora. The bathroom didn't have soap when we stayed, which I imagine was an oversight, as there were fresh towels and the other typical things one needs. The building is only a short walk away from the main "strip" of town. The room was very dark, quiet, and air conditioned at night, just what we needed. A good value!
