We stayed for 2 nights. On the first night, I had food poisoning. Humuela, out host was incredible (The owner Sylvia was away and she was helping out). The next morning, she took me to the local hospital and helped us with the hospital formalities, not to mention being our translator too. She was with me from start to end. She really went beyond the call of duty to help me in a most distressing situation. And for that, I am eternally grateful. The hotel was about 10 mins walk from the pier and if you are arriving by flight, the taxi ride is only 5 mins and can be arranged with the hotel (cost was only US$3 if I recall). The room we had was next to the main reception area, so it was super convenient, especially when getting the free filtered water. Food is easily available with numerous restaurants within walking distance. Just be careful where you eat or you might get the same unfortunate experience as I did. Wi-fi strength was strong and the shower's hot water was good. The room was simple with a ceiling fan (which was creaky. Need to oil it). There is a kitchenette next to our room, so you can do some simple cooking and also a fridge to put your groceries too. Free coffee and tea is available too. Some rooms (on the 2nd floor) have their own kitchenette. Definitely an easy choice to stay here!

We stayed here for 2 nights while in San Cristobal. Location is easy to find using maps.me. Roughly 3 blocks from the pier. Room was very clean. Instant coffee available in the reception room starting at 6:00 am. Can't go wrong with the price and location. Close to many restaurants and walkable to Playa Mann and further onwards to Punta Carola and lookout. You will find A TON of sea lions at Playa Mann.

We stayed in the top apartment with private bathroom & kitchen and it was great! Room is very spacious, very clean & practical. Other pros: free drinking water to refill your bottles, great location (walking distance to everything), nice hosts with advice whenever we asked them anything & drying lines in the garden for your wet beach-stuff. Only minor con was that we weren't allowed to wash any clothes (to save water), which we did understand, but is difficult as backpackers with only so many items of clothing.. Sibce this was our last stop on the Galapagos though, we jusr saved up our bigger items and used the laundry service of our first hotel back in Ecuador mainland. (You can rinse underwear while showering, and it dried very fast.) All in all: a great stay, would highly recommend this place to anyone & especially the apartment for couples! (Wifi isn't great in the apt, but does work most of the time downstairs. Not the strongest signal though. But since you're on a beautiful island, you hardly need it anyway :p)

This establishment is well kept, cleaned daily and has pleasant English speaking host Sylvia, Jose is also pleasant but no English. We found our rooms spacious and kitchenette fairly well equipped. However, we get little sleep as the hostel is in the direct path of the city center bandstand which has been pounding out the local version of "music" (aka horrible noise) along with political Rally's every night till at least 4am, usually they cease at dawn. There's no air conditioning or cross breeze and the rooms are stifling. Some days we have had no water until we ask, it is then turned back on on top of that the shower has only one temperature HOT, very uncomfortable in this stifling heat. Under construction at this time as well. Hammers and saws start @ 9am so best to be gone till they cease around 3pn. We considered relocating at any expense just to get some sleep but made it to the end 7 days of misery. Can Not Recommend.

Pensión Suiza was a great start to our Galapagos trip in May 2018. We love unassuming accommodation with nice outside areas and a chance to prepare some coffee in the morning. This place totally fits the bill. Silvia and José were super-friendly and helped us with lots of information. Silvia speaks several languages, but that José only speaks Spanish was a big plus for me. We highly recommend it.

This is a great hostel run by a lovely couple; Silvia and José. There is a simple kitchen dining area with a fridge and kettle but no means of cooking food. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. Although set back a little from the seafront, it is only a 5 minute walk to the main port/tourist area with plenty of restaurants, tour companies etc. On the way to the centre, you pass a fantastic bakery and Chalo Dive - they are excellent! José arranged for a taxi to take us on a half-day tour of the highlands, for $50 it was money well spent. Wifi was almost non-existent, but that is more to do with being on an island 1000 kilometres from the mainland than anything to do with this hostel

We had a room on the garden, ground floor for two nights here. Room: Quite big room with private bathroom with hot water and two separate large beds. In front of the room is a terrace with a table and two chairs from where you can watch the birds in the garden. Daily cleaning. Staff: The owners are very friendly and can give you tips about tours etc. Hotel: On the frontside of the hotel is a kitchen with a microwave, no gas stove and a fridge. It’s too small to have your breakfast here but we ate at our terrace. It’s not suitable to make an extended dinner. Location, Quiet part of the town bit still only five minutes walking to the seaside and restaurants. Bakery only 100 meters, Mercado and mini markets within 5-10 minutes walking.

This hostel is all you will need for a short, comfortable stay in the Puerto Baquerizo Moreno area of San Cristobal. Sylvia is a charming and generous host, knowledgeable about hikes and other excursions. (Some other reviewers have complained about the Wifi, but that is stupid remark: internet speed in general is understandably slow in the Galapagos.) Thanks again to Sylvia, Jose and Oso, their sweet old dog!

Jose and Silvia were very friendly host, though Jose cannot speak English. He was always try to help us. Two lovely dogs were also there. There is little space to make tea or coffee but you cannot cook something. WiFi was just average level of speed in terms of Galapagos standard. No air conditioning (actually we didn't need it) and a little lukewarm shower.

We had booked this via Air B&B and they sent us the wrong adress. Fortunately silvia had send us a message with the accurate one. Silvia was out on a trip so only her husband Jose was there and he is the kindest and sweetest host we've had so far on our trip. Don't speak much English but we got by with our almost spanish. There is free water, coffee and tea. A nice place to sit and enjoy the evenings right outside our room. Payed 30 USD for our room with private bathroom. No aircon but it wasn't needed during our stay. I saw someone said far from town, in San cristòbal NOTHING is far from town. Btw it san cristòbal is such a cosy town and if you're curious about where to stay santa cruz or san cristòbal, stay in San cristòbal! Also the souvenir prices is a bit cheaper in San cristòbal. If you stay at pension suiza go to the bakery at the beginning of the street. Delicious goods! Big thumbs up from us!
