My wife and I spent two nights at Hostal Romy, and wish we’d stayed longer. The location was ideal - a 5 minute walk from the main drag in a quiet area. The room was extremely spacious - by far larger than we’d expected, with every amenity you could ask for. Very clean. Ronnie (the owner) picked us up at the airport upon our arrival, and was happy to taxi us to the dock for our ferry when we departed. He was also a HUGE help when our scheduled day trip to Kicker Rock was cancelled at the last minute…he pulled some strings that even our local naturalist guide was unable to work out, and we managed a trip after all. Highly recommend.
Romy is a great host. He personally took us to the highlands as our guide. He hiked with us around the crater lake, took us to see the tortoise farm and Playa Chino. He arranged tour to Punta Pitt which was outstanding and highlight of our trip. Room had refrigerator, cold A/C, comfortable mattress, fresh fruit in our room daily, balcony, provided umbrellas, super clean. WE COULD NOT ASK FOR MORE AND A GREAT VALUE.
A comfortable two-night stay due to hospitality and a large and clean room. The family members were warm (Daniela especially deserves big thanks!) and helped us arrange a tour in addition to picking us up from the port and dropping us off at the airport. Easily accessible to the main town and nice to stroll around the area day and night. They gave us fruit daily in our room and for $5 extra per day/person, the family will cook a nice breakfast. Drinking water is available to replenish as needed. The family also had some life vests and allowed us to use it for free. If you’re looking for a budget place to stay without compromising comfort, choose this place for your visit.
Very happy about this hotel ! We spent two nights with my parents and we slept very well. They offered us fruits and water when we arrive. The hotel and the room were very clean and quiet! We had the possibility to clean our clothes by ourselves, to refill water and they even drove us to the harbour to pick up our boat. Very helpful, with good advise, nice smiles, friendly. Wifi was good and A/C too. Nice balcony with sea view and nice Sunset. I recommend this hotel. About 10min walking from the center, quiet hotel nearby the sea and the sea lions.
We stayed here for 2 nights during our Galapagos trip in October 2019. This is a family run concern and the accommodation is traditional, spacious and very clean. Ronny's daughter, Danielle, met us at the pier and it was a short walk from there to the accommodation. The family are delightful and were very hospitable, recommending possible trips and restaurants. Ronny booked us onto the 360 Island trip which was a highlight for us - especially snorkelling with hammerhead sharks at Kicker Rock! Ronny also changed our return ferry time for us when we decided to stay an extra night. A cooked breakfast with fruit was taken in the main family house and was very enjoyable. We recommended highly Hostal Romy. It is simple, clean accommodation within easy walking distance of the town centre, run by a lovely family. We will certainly stay there again if we are lucky enough to return to the Galapagos.…
This is a budget hotel run by a family Friendly and clean Shower needed a bit of instruction but bathroom good Near airport but also easy walking distance to town Tony also gave us a free lift to the airport. Muchas gracias ! Also recommend tijeratas beach for snorkelling and muyu restaurant
Super clean, spotless room. We had stayed 3 Nights. Very cool accommodation. good kitchen, dinning and sitting room with sufficient utensils. Very close to the sea front, just two minutes by walk. Highly recommended, definitely we will be return again.
This is a family run property and it was fun to have the two daughters run through the various bits of information about things to do and what was available. The owner, Ronny, met us at the airport and took us to property at no charge. He also offers a driving tour of nearby fun spots for $20 per person. We took advantage of that (our group was four) and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Took about four hours. It was an easy walk into main part of town and waterfront area. We were provided a very nice breakfast before we left for our Galapagos tour. All in all we'd highly recommend this place and would certainly stay here again when in the area.
We had the BEST stay at Hospedaje Romy. He picked us up at the airport, invited us for a cold beer, took us on a tour of the interior and made excellent recommendations for additional things to do and where to eat. The entire family is extremely welcoming. The hostal is conveniently located to anything you want to do...Malecón, beaches, town center, airport, university, etc. The accommodations are comfortable: room cleaning and fresh linens everyday, air conditioning, WiFi, fresh water, snorkel rentals, towels for the beach, place to wash clothes. If you have an early excursion, you can request breakfast. They also have a very nice truck and you can contract Ronnie for the day. They can accommodate single rooms, couples, and large groups. I’ve been to the Galápagos more than once and this is the place on the island!…
Our party of 9 stayed at Hostal Romy for 3 nights. We loved the place! One family (2 adults, 4 children) stayed in the "three bedroom apartment" which had a common living room, kitchenette, table and chairs, 3 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It worked out great! Our kitchenette was even stocked with some snacks and fruit. There is no air conditioning in the common rooms but there is a/c in each bedroom that work really well to cool off the room. You also can open the windows and great a great breeze. The other three people in our party stayed in a nice spacious room with a double and a single bed. We were met at the ferry by the owner who then made two trips to the hostal to bring us all there. The whole family was very hospitable to us during our stay. We were recommended places to eat and things to do. They set up one of our tour excursions for us (360 tour) while we were there. A wash basin and clothesline to dry are made available if you desire. Breakfast can be served for $5 per person if you would like. We did that every morning and it was well worth it. The breakfast was delicious. They were very responsive to any requests we may have. The last day we were able to store our luggage there until we were ready to leave and then were given a ride to the airport to fly out. The location was great. You were within a short walking distance to get to anything in "town". You can walk to any market, store , restaurant or dive shop you desire.…
