Staff is friendly and helpful. We could leave our luggage twice, which was very comforting. Rooms are a bit small, and so is the bed. Shower nice and warm. Like at a lot of other places you will here traffic, dogs and roosters here. Allthough during the night it's mostly quiet. Worth to mention: right across the street they are building a house/hotel, so expect noise from that during the day (starting at around 07.30u).
We did not actually stay here but the host Annalia who we met by chance at a restaurant on the island was super helpful. We later visited her and it looks like a place very well kept. The place is well located beachy PlayaMann which is great for families.
I stayed here with a tour group and was really impressed by the location. There were no elevators and the breakfast was just okay, but it was very easy to get around from the hotel and it was a nice place to enjoy the island from.
This pretty little hotel is close to the Galapagos Science Center and USFQ satellite campus, but also across from a park and 5 minutes from anywhere in town! La Sra. Soledad makes incredible buffet breakfasts, including locally-made yogurt. The door has a shield on the bottom to keep crawling bugs out, there is beautiful carved wood all over, and the vines giving the breakfast nook privacy with a view are growing out of a variety of ornamental bottles! There's lots of fun to be had in Galapagos, on San Cristóbal, and at la Casa de Nelly - Nelly's House!
Our tour group stayed here for two nights. The room was OK, the shower worked quite well, though there was no shampoo, despite my requests. TV didn't work. Beds were comfy and I slept well both nights. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! Much better than our hotels elsewhere in the Galapagos. This hotel is three+ stories and there are no elevators. But there are nice views from the top, and hammocks in the courtyard for people to rest in. The hotel is a short walk from the interesting things to do and see in town.
Myself and 3 friends came here as part of the Guiding Galapagos tour that we took in October 2017. We stayed here 3 nights. This hotel is great for what it is. Great breakfast every morning (my half Mexican boyfriend is still saying 6 months later how much he loved the homemade empanadas)! The staff was nice the couple of times we interacted with them. The outdoor areas at this place are very pretty. Very cool, ornate wooden benches, hammocks, and a great patio a few levels up. This is where my friends and I had rooms. One of the three rooms up here had a mini fridge but if you dont have one in your room you can use the one in the full kitchen on the ground floor. There is filtered water that you can use to fill up water bottles whenever you please from large blue bottles on the railings on the ground floor. Air conditioning was great! Unfortunately water temperature and pressure was not so great for the showers here. This hotel is in a quiet area but a quick 5 minute walk takes you to the start of the town and all the sea lions. Although you can easily hear the sea lions from this hotel.…
If you are into five star hotels then this is not the place for you. However, we have not seen many brilliant hotels in the Galapagos and this was clean and safe and close to the action near the port. If you are worried about security, my son locked himself in the room with a key that could not get him out. Our room had a window that would not lock which meant that anyone could break in by climbing into the window but that did not seem to be a risk. Breakfast was basic but plentiful.
The Sennora that runs this hotel is wonderful. Great rooms and we were in one on the third floor with a beautiful view of the city. The breakfast and china were the best we had in the Galapagos. Easy walk to downtown. There are many nice restaurants which overlook the harbor. The snorkel trip and views of the blue footed boobys, frigate birds and swimming with the sea lions were amazing. Sea lions sit on the dock and park benches, not bothered by tourists.
Casa de Nelly is a really well run and tended property. Lovely gardens, which rooms look on to. Great location, not far from main drag, but enough away from it to be lovely and quiet. (I was able to walk from previous accommodation to this place with my suitcase in about 10 mins, so very easy to get to). It's nice and close to the Interpretation Centre and Frigate Bird Hill. People running the place were lovely, although had little spoken English. Room comfortable, but I found there was no hot water in the shower in the morning. In room safes would be a nice extra. Was great to have facilities to fill water bottles with safe water for free. I found the wifi to be the best during my stay in the Galapagos.
LLovely breakfast, lovely people and a great terrace with hammocks which are perfect for a few sunset beers at sunset Rooms clean, air con, good shower and very nice people. 3 mins walk from town so ideal location
