Teresa and Marco are the most lovely hosts and the place was everything we needed. Clean rooms with enough space, aircon, kitchen, drinking water and 2 minutes walk to the main strip (you don't want a hotel there because of noise and sealion smell). It felt like staying with family it's so nice there and Carmelo the sleepy cat is friendly too. Hope to come back here again, gracias por tu hospitalidad :)

Unfortunately much of Galápagos is overpriced and having experienced various tour agencies you can feel like you are being ripped off. Hostel Terito is breath of fresh air. I turned up without a booking, and unfortunately my chosen room was full. It was tipping down with rain and the kind owner let me wait until the rain stopped while i search for another place. However the rain didn’t stop but he ended up sorting something out so I could stay at the hostel. It is in a good central location, not far from a tasty bakery and only about 10 minutes walk from the harbour. He looks after the property very well, it’s clean, has air-con and has a friendly house cat called caramelo. Highly recommended

We spent 4 nights in Terito and enjoyed it very much. Upon arrival we were picked up from the port free of charge. At the Hostel we met lovely Caramelo - the cat. Marco was away so his son was our host, he spoke English very well and helped us with planning our visit. We were lucky since we do not speak any Spanish. Friendly and helpful hosts.

This hostel is one of the coziest I've stayed in. The owners are amazingly friendly and they take good care of you. The location is good, the rooms are clean and bright and the hostel has a kitchen. It has everything you need and I would recommend it and come back at any time. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Why paying more money in a fancy hotel? Hostal Terito is the best value for money in Puerto Baquerizo, it´s comfortable, in a quiet street and close to everything. Short walk to Plya Mann and Punta Carola where we can sea many sea lions in the wild, also close to the downtown pier, markets and bakeries. The owner goes to pick up guests arriving at the airport or in the pier and no charge for that. Guests can use the kitchen and there is a refrigerator only for them to keep things they buy. Drinking water at the reception. What more do you need ?

We really enjoyed this hostel! The owners are very an older couple, they do not really speak English but they are very helpful and super nice. They really want to make their guest feel like home and they show high level of hospitality. The owner, Marco, even pick you up by cab when you come to San Cristobal by ferry (without charging anything). They really enjoy to host people so I definitely recommend this place, it is so worth it! There is no breakfast but you have a nice cafeteria just some meters away, and they do offer coffee and bread free of charge.

No airconditioning, only fan, not suitable for hot weather. Breakfast is not included in the room price. Toilet bowl was old, bad smell. As the location is in the residential area, sometimes noisy with loud music.

The owners of Hostal Terito are a beautiful couple in their 60's. I felt like they were my parents. I checked in with them when I left and when I got back. They don't speak much English and I butchered my Spanish, but we were able to communicate. I do not know what the other rooms are like because I traveled alone so had my own room and shower/bath. It was fine for the 2 nights that I spent there, as mostly I just took a shower, slept and repacked my bags. I wasn't in the room much.. I was on the opposite side of town from the airport, but the taxi was only $2.50 to the airport. There is a panaderia about 3 blocks from the Hostal with cheap baked goods for snacks, breakfast, etc. The town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal is the Government seat of the Galapagos province of Ecuador, but there is less "tourist stuff" available on this island than on Santa Cruz in Puerto Ayora. If you fly from Ecuador you will either fly into the Baltra airport and get ferried to Santa Cruz Island to take a bus or taxi to Puerto Ayora, or you would fly to San Cristobal airport an take a short taxi ride into town. Cruises leave from either Island, although, I think more leave from Santa Cruz Island. I was left on San Cristobal after a 6 day cruise to the western islands, so I sated and extra day. I took a 1 day tour to Espanola Island which was fantastic. If I had had another day, I would have taken a tour to Punta Pitt, which is the only place you can see the Red footed boobies.

This is a small, quiet, very comfortable hostel run by a couple in their mid sixties. Rooms were clean, comfortable and fairly inexpensive (I paid $25 per night for a single room). Drinking water is available for free. There is a TV in the common room and and breakfast is available for $5. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful but they speak next to no English. Once you've made a reservation, Marco, the owner will contact you to arrange to meet you at the airport or boat ferry upon arrival. The Hostel is a 5-10 minute walk from the center of the tourist district: Closer to the interpretation center and Playa Mann.
