We were very lucky to find Hostal Nathaly. This place is well located, in a quiet area not too far from the center. We stayed in a private apartment, with a fully equiped kitchen, big fridge, free drinking water, wi-fi and air conditioned. Cleaning service is provided on a daily basis. On top of that the hosts were very helpful and friendly, making sure we had the best possible stay. Thank you and we definetely recommend this place to everyone visiting San Cristóbal.
Nathalys family gave us bottled water and explained everything around the hotel. super sweet and very clean spot. we could use the kitchen upstairs all by ourselves. was also one of the cheapest places to stay so win win!
Hostel is located a 10 min walk from main strip. Also next to a basketball court / sports center which is a bit of a teenagers hangout. Very noisy in the night, music and people until 2am. Then at 5.30am hotel guests / staff in kitchen waking us up. Comfy beds and clean rooms, just a shame we hardly slept. We were quite tired for the duration of our stay. Owner was kind and showed us other rooms, but she told us they were no quieter. Shower was either extremely hot or extremely cold, in bursts, so kept having to hop to the side. My boyfriend called it the shower of doom haha.
We stayed for 3 nights in a double room with private bathroom and AC. The price was comparable for the cheaper end of Galápagos, but be aware that a 12% tax gets added on. The Hostal is a little away from the main part of town but it is only a short walk. We thought it would be quieter due to this fact but the road was quite busy and there is a sports ground opposite so there is noise from this especially in the evening. The area was safe and the Hostal felt secure. The room was big enough and the bathroom was fine. There was hot water all day from an electric shower but not much opportunity to regulate the temperature. Cleanliness was very good. The AC was quite old and made a lot of noise, this meant that we couldn't have it on at night, so it did get quite hot. The Hostal provided free large bottles of drinking water which is common in the Galápagos due to tap water not being potable. This was appreciated. The property benefits from a communal kitchen which is adequate for basic cooking. No breakfast is included. The owner lives downstairs and was friendly and helpful, the only comment is that staff were quite noisy around the rooms early in the morning. There was WIFI, which worked quite well. …
I was at the Hostal Nathaly in February, and I only have great words for this place and for Dulia, the owner. The place is very clean, room have Air conditioning, internet works much better than in other places of Galapagos and it is very close to the waterfront although far enough from the noise of there. There is a big bottle of water in the room when you arrive (noone does it) and Dulia, the owner, is very sweet and helpful. Unfortunately I got sick on my first day there, and Dulia offered to take me to hospital. Her husband took me there and came back to pick me up, and Dulia also prepared some food for me. I tried to pay and she said no, they were there to help me and they were doing it because they really cared. Well, it was like feeling at home, and when you're sick on an island, where people speak a different language, you don't really expect it... In the next days Dulia and her husband have been great hosts: at their hostal it doesn't feel like you are a guest, but more like you are part of a family. It has been great meeting them and stay in their hostal. Although San Cristobal is not the most beautiful of the islands, if I give Galapagos a second try (I have been sick my entire holiday, I should go back!!!! Btw, the best hospital is in Isabela, "Centro de salud", in case you might need one) I will come back here for sure. Thank you very much guys!…
The Hostel is a 10 minute walk from the main walkway on San Cristobel. A peaceful location. My room was number three. I had a shared kitchen with all the necessary equipment. Nathaly and her daughter run the guesthouse and they are helpful and lovely. They even patched me up after a surfing accident. I stayed for just over one week. The kitchen and rooms were cleaned daily and the beds were made daily.
+ Nice clean and comfortable room with all the necessary facilities. Great location, not too far from the town center but far enough away to be reasonable quiet (there's a football pitch over the road but the noise ended at 10pm). Really nice bakery down the road. Really useful kitchen and large bottle of water on arrival which was a nice touch. - Staff were helpful but didn't feel that comfortable overall as we were told off for various things you'd usually do just when staying somewhere like hanging out washing on our balcony railings (even though it was wet from elsewhere) and having the air conditioning on while we were out of the room for even a moment (we do care about the environment - the air conditioning units need a hoover out to work properly). Don't discount this stay from your list.…
For the budget traveler, this place was fantastic. We stayed in the backroom which had great wifi (for the Galapagos) and A/C; the shower was finicky temperature-wise but got the job done. There is a kitchenette upstairs which is great for stashing leftovers or making breakfast. It's a 7-9 minute walk from "downtown" but since it's on the west-ish side of town, it's closer to the beaches. I WISH I spoke more Spanish so I could have interacted more with our wonderful hosts! Extremely sweet and pleasant--you won't regret staying here!
What a pleasure to stay here. The owner was very friendly & helpful for our overnight stay. Quite affordable with clean & comfortable rooms. The shower was good and we have no hesitation recommending this place to the budget conscious. A little out of town, 7 minute walk, but in the scheme of things not a drama. Would stay again, if we return.
We stayed one night, and the bedroom was really clean, and nice. Good location. The hosts were really helpful, nice and welcoming. They made us feel confortable. We did take the breakfast at the house and it was really good and economic. I strongly recommend it.
