Detailed Reviews
Older hotel with picturesque rooms. Has no phone or TV and the wifi signal only works well in the restaurant. The staff is more friendly than in other places in Galapagos, San Cristóbal. The rooms are clean. The bathroom is decent but in order to keep the room cold with the AC on, it’s door must be closed.
The soap, shampoo and conditioners are very poor quality and have bad smell. Plus, once they are used, they are not replaced unless you ask.
The restaurant is ok. It offers variety but the plates are not great. The restaurant closes early, even though it has a bar, service stops around 10 pm even on weekends.

We are sorry that you had such a bad experience in 2019. It would be a great pleasure if you could come back and visit our hotel again and give us the chance to surprise you. We have renovated the rooms and have a new restaurant with a wonderful menu, specializing in seafood and fish. I hope you can return to the beautiful islands. Atte,

The hotel is very well located, we were very comfortable in the hotel. The staff was very attentive, we stayed in a triple room and were clean and spacious, the breakfast good, a very quiet hotel everything was right. Perhaps the only improvement could be that the hot water was not working entirely well.

The place is in a perfect location, but the service and the condition of the rooms need to be improved. We came during management change, and I believe the new management will be able to reach the potential of the place. There are some renovations going on already. Hopefully they will do renovations now with a DIY guy, but professionals. The Jakuzzi control system definitely needs to be rebuilt. I recommend visiting from 2024, it will be ready.

Hotel's Favourite
Amazing! This hotel was clean, great customer service, very accommodating, and went above and beyond helping us with taxis, other agencies, and setting a tour we wanted. When we were I. Need of things for the room we messaged in the QR code link and they brought what we needed. One morning our excursion was to leave before the restaurant opened they would send boxed or bagged food with us. You cannot ask for any better.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel situated in an ideal location only a few mins away from a small beach full of amazing sea lions and a short walk to the local shops and restaurants and the pier. We were very well looked after with a personalised breakfast as we were vegetarians. The staff were very friendly.and accomodating. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had a holiday of a lifetime booked through Exoticca in May 2022, and our last stop was to be the highlight of the trip - a visit to San Cristobal in Galapagos.
Unfortunately we were staying at the Miconia. Although it is in a perfect location, this is where the positive ends about this hotel.
There was building work going on next door (which we had not been informed about prior to arrival) and experienced really loud drilling and banging which could be clearly heard in the hotel as there are no solid doors to shut out the outside world. Due to the building work surfaces including handrails on the staircase, were covered in dust.
Breakfast was awful - staff did not understand when we asked if our coffee could be made stronger and we were served with stodgy, undercooked waffles! WiFi was absolutely non existent. Most staff were unapproachable and had little knowledge of English with the exception of the you man who managed the bar, who was extremely pleasant and helpful.
The rooms were very outdated, not even large enough to open our cases comfortably. We had to locate a case on a breakfast bar as our clothes had to be kept in our cases due to the awful smell in the clothes storage facility.
The bathroom had no hot water, no glass for tooth brushing, the shower cubicle was really awful with a mis-mash of poorly cut jagged edged tiles, the sink was loose from the wall and cracked.
All the time we were there we never saw a single customer having food at the Miconia's outside restaurant or drinking at the bar. I think word had got around!
This accommodation may be suitable for a back packer, but not for a customer paying £6000 for a dream holiday. Exoticca you should be ashamed for putting you customers in such a hotel.

We stayed a few days on San Cristobal in Hotel Miconia. It is very well located, just a few steps away from the jetty for the day trips, and we had a very nice room with view on the harbor and ocean. The staff was very friendly. A recommendation.

We spend a week in Galapagos visiting 3 Islands: Isabela, Santa Cruz and San Cristobal, this was our last stop and this hotel was the worst, not even toilet paper on the bathroom, we took a shower and went out to dinner and spot a different hotel asked for availability and went back to the hotel pack our bags and move out.
I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, it seems they don't really care about their guest, after almost a year closed due to the pandemic, you will think been the only guest on the hotel you would provide a better service.
We did not want to end our trip with a bad experience so we move out to the Sunset hotel, better location, wonderful service and very nice room for less money. They do care about their guest and provide an excellent service.

Excellent service from manager Erick, and the New Year's dinner was extremely tasteful and affordable. Once again I would like to praise the manager Erick who gave us special assistance as well as all the other guests. That was the big difference.
