The place really needs a makeover.Facility is becoming outdated and obviously not keeping up with times. The whole place smells like mold and marajuna. From the elevator to the halls and even my nonsmoking room. Hotel supervisor didn’t even care when I confronted them with the problem. Would not recommend coming here being you have much nicer places to stay like borgata harrahs and hard rock.

The room smell so nasty. The bed wasn’t made. Room 730. We were going into the pool from the South tower coming from the North. We were never informed that we had to carry the room key with us and the person at the desk seemed to have an attitude.

A few years had passed since I last stayed at Tropicana in AC, and having had what I would describe as an acceptable stay in the past, I thought I would try my luck with one of their "South Ocean View Rooms" which claim to be newly renovated. Upon arrival to the room, I immediately started laughing at the new "renovations"... they're so new that they aren't even complete as far as I can tell! In the bathroom alone, the original door remained which was splintered at the top and planed raw on the edge, presumably so the contractor could get it to barely close. They didn't paint around the vent on the ceiling, and there was a piece of trim missing from the vanity. It seemed they changed the wallpaper, but then reinstalled the old yellowed outlet covers and light switches. The remodel looked worse than a DIY house flip. The stay was very inexpensive, so I just wrote it off as a good laugh. The second night however, upon returning to the room, I was disgusted to find a roach crawling up the side of the bed (see photo)! I ran into the bathroom and grabbed a handful of toilet paper to kill it, and threw it into the bowl to flush it... when the toilet clogged! Thoroughly annoyed and disgusted, I rang the from desk to explain the situation, and they assured me that someone was coming up to plunge the toilet. Pi$$ed off, I left the room for the night. I couldn't believe that after that incident, the best they could offer was a plunging of a toilet... no apology, no follow up... NOTHING! Any other casino would have comped the room, apologized, and offered up another room, but NOT Tropicana. They were much more concerned about retaining a couple of hundred bucks than a customer. Stay at HR, Borgatta, or Ocean... no roaches and MUCH nicer rooms.

This hotel cost me 30,000 in Wyndham Rewards and I wouldn't use this location as a pet hotel. The distance from check-in desk to room was unacceptable! Had my 80 year old Mother with me and the struggle was real. Then we made the mistake of doing reservations at their Gastro Pub which was over a mile walk opposite of our room. Lame machines, staff on the floor didn't really know where anything was and valet was only for diamond members. Oh and let's not forget the $20 fee to park in valet. There wasn't even an event going on. Safe to say we are never going back. Ended up at Ocean Resort and then Borgata (THANK GOODNESS) WAY BETTER ON ALL LEVELS!!! PS "renovated rooms" does not constitute overlay of materteral that you can still see the old hotel underneath. The carpet was disgusting and the bed/pillows like laying on rocks. Also if you like to smoke this place is for you. My hair and clothes STUNK to high heaven and we couldn't breathe. Did I state NEVER AGAIN??!!!!

We can stay almost anywhere in the world, but when we go to Atlantic City we always prefer the Tropicana. The location on the boardwalk facing the ocean is great, but it is the hotel complex that is the real destination. There is always a buzz of activity, and the casino, restaurants, shopping, movie theater, and so forth offer a plethora of nonstop fun. It rained all weekend but we hardly noticed. Yes, this hotel is pretty big, and requires a LOT of walking, so be prepared. We parked in the Havana tower, for a $10.00 fee. We stayed in the lovely and convenient North tower this time in a comfortable suite, we dined at Chelsea Pub in the Chelsea tower for both dinner and breakfast (elegant, delicious food, great service and wonderful view), and we went to the IMAX movie theater to see the new James Bond film. We also ate lunch in the special Mexican restaurant in the Marketplace. I joined the new Caesar's rewards program so I will receive points and discounts for everything. Checking in and out in the lines was a bit slow, but the place was packed with visitors so it is understandable. We will be back the next time we need an Atlantic City getaway!
