If you just need a place to crash then this place is plenty good enough. If you are like me when I go to A.C. I get very little rest/sleep. The place is a little ran down and in need of some rejuvenation. However the service was courteous. The room wasn't ready as promised and had to wait outside the room while the maids cleaned it up from the previous tenant. If you are visiting at a time when rooms are hard to come by and go for gambling then hey this is good enough to shower up and sleep, just do not expect more than a ran-down roadside motel thats all. I just don't get why the owners don't take a little bit of their money and fix it up better????

This is not really that nice of a hotel. It's not the cleanest, the microfridge won't always work, you'll be lucky to get towels, and the coffee stinks. There are --- on the street corner and the parking is tight.

But..

It's the perfect place to stay if you are down in AC to party and not give a hoot where you crash at the end of the night. It's right next to the Tropicana and only a block away from the board walk. Sure, the hotel itself might not be all that nice but when you are in Atlantic City to gamble, drink, dance, and party what do you care about the hotel?

We've crammed over 6 people in a room at the end of a night and no one has ever said anything. Unless we are splurging for a night of decadence at the Borgata this is the only place we'll stay. We've been here a bunch of times and plan on going back again.

If you area family looking for some kind of clean hotel to keep your kids at, well, stay the heck away from Atlantic City. If you are just down in AC to hang out and have a good time and the only requirement you need for your room is a bed, well, this is the place for you.

On Friday, April 21, 2006 my wife and I stayed at this location (room# 103)and had a good stay. There was really nothing wrong with the room. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom looked as if it had been newly renovated and the TV was fine. The carpet looked fairly new, and we did not see any cigarette burns anywhere. There were a couple of estetic flaws around the door such as some protuding wires, but this did not affect the overall use of the room.
The breakfast was ok, they had a nice machine that dispensed hot chocolate and coffee. However, they did not have any juice or milk which I was a bit disappointed to see. They had bagels, and honey buns. Not the best, but far from the worst that i have ever had. But, it is far cheaper to stay here and go out for breakfast than to have it included somewhere else... especially on the weekend.
What I did like was that were were next door to the Tropicana casino. As far as some other complaints of hookers and other undesirables around the hotel, I did not see much of this. I have seen some complanits about this with various hotels in Atlantic City. Well, welcome to Atlantic City. If you don't want to see the seedy side of life, get a room outside the city or at the top floor at one of the casino's. Rating a hotel based on the social problems of city is beyond the scope of control of the hotel. Not really fair.
I would recommend this motel for anyone looking for a decently priced room, in a great atlantic city location.

The room was ok. Clean and orderly. If you’re on a budget or can’t find anything better this may be your place. It’s very close the Boardwalk and the Tropicana. If you’re looking for a place to only sleep and shower this is fine. Just lower your expectations this isn’t a 4 star location.
I’d stay here again.

I reserved the last Jacuzzi king room through the Choice app. I picked this hotel because it was the only Choice Hotel with a Jacuzzi left for the night in Atlantic City. I arrived a few hours later and checked in. We went to the room and it was a small room with a king bed but no Jacuzzi. I went to the front desk and they said it was showing as a regular room on their screen. I had to call Choice hotels to cancel. I happily went to a hotel down the road.

We couldn't afford a casino room, so we took our chances at the Econo Lodge. Before we arrived, I kept joking about staying at the "Roach Motel". I expected the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised. This was not the "Roach Motel". It was nothing fancy, but it was clean enough and we felt safe. It is very close to the boardwalk and to The Country Kitchen restaurant, where we had an excellant breakfast. The lady at the front desk was friendly, and the parking was convenient.

Been to Ac many times stayed at many hotels there including the Holiday Inn next door. First off Atlantic City itself is "seedy", if you stay in a smaller hotel you are going to feel the grit any where you stay. Friday night ($90)/ Sat ($200) You will hear noises outside at any hour but not all the time. Mostly people arguing or slaming there room doors. Yes there are prostitutes on the streets and dirtbags walking around, like I said that is AC. Always has been. Welcome to the east coast. If you want to avoid the grit cacoon yourself in a more expensive hotel with indoor halls and a lobby, not a motel. I would watch my children very closley at any one of these outside AC motels especially at night. But then again why bring children to AC?
All of my gambling was done at the Tropicana. It takes less then 2 minutes to walk from the Trop lobby to your room at the Econo, just walk accross the street.
As for the rooms they are typical 1 star rooms clean enough to get the job done, shower pressure was pretty good and thats important. Parking is free. If you want better stay next door at the Holliday Inn.

I recently stayed at this hotel over the weekend. The hotel is in a good location right by the Tropicana but at the end of the Strip, but still not bad. The hotel was only one block from the Boardwalk. The two rooms me and my group stayed in were clean. Breakfast was okay, just the neccessities (pastries, coffee, juice, bagels) and they had a do it yourself waffle maker which was good. Overall if you just want a decent hotel to stay in, this is the place.

Do not stay in this dump! I brought my family here and we had to leave in the middle of the night because it was so dangerous. We had people banging on our door several times (I think looking for a drug deal.) When we called the office for help, we were basically told too bad, there's nothing he could do. When I suggested calling the police, he said they never come. We all felt very unsafe, so we did leave about 2 a.m. Don't stay here if you care about your safety.
