My experience in this hotel was simply fabulous, particularly from Juan David who helped us for over an hour the night before we were planning to go to the Tayrona Park. Give the holiday week, the park was fully booked and we hadn't paid for our tickets yet. Juan David was so helpful and tried everything possible to get us...

My wife and I stayed only one night in this funky, cool hotel. We paid for a suite, which we loved and had the surprise of enjoying our own small pool on the rooftop of the suite. Within safe walking distance are the waterfront and a city square with great restaurants and bars. The service was excellent with front of...

Casa de Isabella is a brilliant place to stay. Can’t recommend this fantastic hotel highly enough! All of the staff were incredibly friendly, caring, and genuinely interested in our well being which made us feel at home instantly. They also helped us a great deal in organising our trip to the Tayrona National Park and were always there to offer...

Stayed here for a few nights, found the place top notch, breakfast was always nice consisted of fruit plate coffee/tea with a juice and also a choice out of 6 other dishes can't go wrong! The rooms were a good size, bathrooms very nice, the pool was big enough for a little splash around and the staff very friendly and...

My dad and I have spent three nights at Casa de Isabella in Santa Marta. It has been a great experience. The rooms are comfortable size, clean and have good beds. Yes, the rooms have no windows (as we've experienced is common in Colombia) but through the decoration and light plan in the room this becomes a non-issue. Furthermore, the...

Perfect place to stop for a night between Cartagena and parque tayrona. The helpfulness of the staff was unparalleled, especially Luis and Jordy, and we were extremely satisfied with the hotel room's security, convenience, and amenities. If you would like to glean home decorating tips, this is the place to come: the throw pillows had hues similar to those of...

Mid-way through a 3 month trip we stayed in this hotel. It was the nicest place we stayed throughout the trip and was one of the nicest hotel stays I've had, even though it was much cheaper than most hotels I've stayed in. It wasn't flashy but had really lovely rooms, the service was absolutely fabulous. The breakfast was really...

What a charming and beautiful hotel. It is close to fabulous restaurants and a short drive from Tayrona National Park. I highly recommend choosing this hotel if you only want to do a day trip to Tayrona. The front desk staff were so help and fluent in English. Can't recommend enough. Also get their fried arepas at the included breakfast!...

Glad we decided on a suite as the rooftop plunge pool, chaise lounges and seating area with view of the sea were delightful. Good variety for breakfast and nice to try local dishes: arepas with fried egg one morning, pureed plantains the next. Long breakfast hours with early start allowed us to eat before an early departure. Server was a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa de Isabella pays homage to the charm and history of Santa Marta's colonial era while ushering in a future rich in culture and beauty. Founded in 1525, Santa Marta is Colombia's oldest city. Its natural port provided a refuge from long journeys on Spanish galleons, and its position on the north coast allowed explorers to use it as a base camp for trips to the interior. Casa de Isabella sits in the Centro Historico, the Old City of Santa Marta. This area, first developed after the Manzanares river receded in 1850, holds buildings that reflect traditional Mudejar architecture. The building's original owners inhabited the house for four generations and contributed significantly to the city's growth in the 19th and 20th centuries. In renovating the hotel for the modern era, we consistently chose classic style, maintaining the original integrity of the building and its surrounding neighborhood. Our guests feel the simplicity of Santa Marta's natural charm while enjoying modern comforts. From the greenery of the courtyard to the intimacy of a personal rooftop pool, Casa de Isabella fuses the tranquility of Colombian culture with top quality hotel conveniences. With lighting fast Wi-Fi, complimentary I-Pads, and Apple TV, as well as restored furniture and handmade adornments, this hotel stays anchored in tradition while looking ahead toward a bright future. We have proudly renovated the most beautiful boutique hotel in the Colombian Caribbean. ... more   less
