This is a private reserve. They have short hiking/walking trails, ducks, geese, hummingbirds, two dogs, a cat, and some fish. They also have a wonderful variety of plants and flowers. It's not a botanic garden; it's more of an educational center for orchids. The staff is warm and helpful. We were here with an infant and a 5-year-old boy. They allowed my sons to feed the animals, which they loved. They also went out of their way to offer us breakfast away from the main dining area in a garden space that was gorgeous. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and had comfortable beds. For 120.000 pesos for two adults, including breakfast, your expectations need to be in check with the price. It included a large bathroom with hot water in the shower, a master bedroom, and a spacious living room with two single beds. It was surrounded by green. The breakfast was delicious. Eggs to your liking, arepas, bread, fresh fruit salad, fresh fruit, hot chocolate or coffee. My wife particularly liked the scrambled eggs with onion and tomato. She is Colombian, and she said it was among the best she's ever eaten. We will definitely return as the boys grow up, as they will enjoy different aspects at different ages. Diva was a patient and informative guide who led a truly interactive walk around the property.

What everyone says below, basically. Call ahead since they're not always available. Diba has some odd anthrpomorphic ideas about orchids, and not just metaphorically but literally--believe me, I asked. Who knows, maybe she's right, but that would be big news.

We went to this place with no expectations, we just wanted to show my mom some orquids, since she likes them so much. Since entering the gate we realized this place is truly special. The host, Diba Andrade, is an incredible, smart, pasioned, curious and loving human being who loves showing you her world of beautiful flowers, colibrís and makes you want to go back every other weekend. The scenery is superb, the flowers are mesmerizing, there is a lake and some ducks and the food is delicious. Most of all is tranquile and it fills you with great energy. Please go, this place needs so much more support!

If you enjoy nature, this is the place to go in Ibague. This tiny reserve holds dozens of different orchids, fruit trees and various other native Colombian plants. In a small pond they also host ducks and fish, and the forest that surround it is inhabited by tiny titi monkeys. The accommodations looked superb, although we did not stay there. But best of all was Ms. Diba Andrade's guided tour. She is both knowledgeable and engaging. I will definitely go back and stay at the reserve.
