We stayed here also with Newyears Day, the Casa is in the area Getsemani, which is an area that's always is alive........ Maybe a little bit to much, but the Casa is very nice and the lady (Sarah) will takes very good care of you and will do everything you ask. She also make the desayuno (breakfast), everyday something else....!...

It is an old house and the whole is more a B&B than something else and those who expect to find a hotel type of accomodation could maybe be disappointed. Our room had all we could need to stay confortably: air conditioning, good beds, very clean sheets, and bathroom, OK wifi connection, (we did not turn on the TV), etc....

Lara is a fantastic hostess and she makes the best arepas in Colombia! I'm so glad we stayed here, because Getsemani is a beautiful little neighborhood that is fast filling with hotels and hostels. Although we didn't speak Spanish, we had no problem communicating with Lara and we would have loved to get to know her better. Dearest Lara, I...

Great rooms, nicely designed interior, good breakfast costeño, perfect location, Lea was a very helpful and fantastic host! Little downers: advertised pool was not working, third night was still charged even though we spontaneously decided to leave a day early.

The little Hotel was really nice and perfect for our stay in Cartagena. It is located in Getsemani, so a little walk fromt he old town center, but perfect to walk through the City. Lea, the owner, is really nice and helpful (organising bus to airport and so on). The breakfast is very tasty with fresh food, scrammbled eggs and...

Casa Portal is in a great location near Plaza Trinidad, Cafe Havana and a host of things to see in Getsemani. The hotel is small and a great change of pace from bland corporate hotel chains. This is more like a bed & breakfast rather than a hotel. After all, it used to be a home. The architecture is interesting...

We made a reservation online, but when we arrived they asked us to pay four our room, saying they hadn't received any payment. That same evening they discovered the price had been payed already via our visa card, and they said they would return the cash we had given, but they hadn't enough at the hotel, so ultimately we left...

We chose this place due to good reviews and location. The location indeed was good (10 minutes walk to the old town). However, we didn’t really understand, how someone could write any positives about this awful place. Casa Portal De Getsemani was shown as a guest house with rating of 4 star. However, it would much better fit in a...

We had a reservation for casa portal that was made over 2 months in advance. However, when we got there we were told it was full. The excuse was that the website was to blaim for the overbookings. On the question why they did not inform us of this in advance I never received an answer... Instead they redirected us...

My wife and I spent a week at Casa Portal de Getsemani in September 12. Cartagena is an enchanting Spanish colonial afro-caribbean creole city full of sights, sounds, smells, tastes. Our barrio, Getsemani, awoke to the cries of street hawkers with their papayas, citrus, plantanos. Later salsa and cumbia and champeta from doorways, somewhere in the background someone practicing the...
