We booked a private room one month in advance through hostelbookers. When we arrived (during Chinese New Year) we were informed that there were no rooms available. After talking to hostelbookers (because the man at the front desk spoke very little English) he eventually relented and agreed to let us stay for two nights. However we weren't put in the...

I booked this hostel on the 14th January 2015 over a month before we were due to stay at the cost of 1000 RMB for two people in a standard double twin room over the spring festival break. 3 days before we were due to stay I had a email informing me that they could no longer grant our booking...

This hostel was great for what you pay for. We stayed in a single room the first night and upgraded to a room with a view, which I highly recommend. Justin was great and helped us plan a surf trip. The only negative part was that the beds were super hard, it was like sleeping on a boxspring only.

This was a cool hostel. THe owner Justin, was awesome, he gets really involved and helpful if you want or need. He will take you to places where most tourists to Sanya don't know about. Its great. He helps set up day trips into the mountains or to the beaches or for surfing. It was alot of fun. The hostel...

I stayed in the Raintree hostel for two weeks and I had a really great time. I had a double room which was very neat, but at the same time very cheap. You couldn't wish for anything more for that kind of money, but what really makes the place shine is the staff.. They were very friendly and helped out...

Justin helped us a lot, before we even arrived at the hostel. He helped us, get from the train station to his place and was also very helpful by arranging different day trip-tours for us. The day tour with Justin was one of the best days in Sanya: he took us to a nice small beach where we did snorkling,...

Sanya was a perfect spot to relax and get away from all the stress in the world. After a long year of studying and beginning a summer internship it was the perfect thing to de-stress the body. On our tight budget it was pure luck that we found this amazing place to stay. The location of the Raintree hostel is...

As a surfer I had to choose this hostel for it´s owner is a local who knows some nice spots. The hostel itself offers a nice secure shelter (which is the most important thing if you come to China as a Western country citizen who doesn´t speak any Chinese. The service and stuff is pretty nice and the rooms are...

OK I'm been in 2 minds to write this Review. I was attracted to this Hostel because it seemed it might be a little remote from the city, and with the Owner fluent in English I might get some assistance in arranging tours etc. Firstly, it's bang in the middle of Sanya City, within easy walking to shops, KTV's and...

The Sanya Raintree Backpacker Hostel was in the perfect location, with buses leaving for different destinations nearly on its doorstep. We especially liked taking the 30 minute bus to the beautiful Yalong Bay. Justin and his team are very friendly and helpful, giving plenty of tips and advice on where to go. They also organised lovely day trips for us,...
