Tucked away from the hustle and noise of the city, Royal Angkor Resort is only minutes away from these iconic landmarks, providing unprecedented access to the legendary Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Bayon temples as well as the charming and historic town of Siem Reap. Stretching over two and a half hectares, this iconic Siem Reap hotel is jeweled with a beautiful tropical landscape and decorated with the most remarkable architecture, reminiscent of the early 20th century. From fine dining to traditional rooms and suites, Royal Angkor Resort & Spa combines ancient charm with modern-day leisure, creating the ultimate space to unwind and embrace the magical spirit of Cambodia.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
A beautiful Asian-style hotel that is unfortunately showing its age. The rooms should be renovated, the wood painted, the carpet in the hallway replaced, the bathrooms renovated and the mold in the shower removed. It is outside the hustle and bustle of the city and is therefore quiet. The highlight of this hotel is the oversized pool, which invites you to swim every day. The hotel complex is beautifully laid out, tastefully decorated with many stone figures and sculptures, a feast for the eyes, although the hotel has certainly seen better days. The breakfast was good, there was something for everyone. The staff was extremely charming and accommodating. At this point we would like to particularly highlight 'Savorn', who spoke the best English of all the staff and gave guests a positive feeling with her extremely competent manner in all areas. We also felt very comfortable here, even if the four-star award is just about achieved, it's a shame!

Definitely high quality place. The location is not central but with 2/3€ of Tuk Tuk you can reach and come back from anywhere.
Very kind staff (as in all Cambodia) and spacious and clean rooms. Excellent international savoury breakfast, the sweet one a little understocked even if what little there was was very good.
The flaw that I would like to point out is that it turns out to be a bit dated (although still very high level both in the furniture and in the service).
Excellent internal SPA!

We booked a bungalow unit in Angkor Royal Resort and Spa. We were given free upgrade to a villa. The villa was very big. There were 2 rooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, a living room, 3 bathrooms. We only used the 2 rooms and main entrance hall. As the hotel just reopen in May, there were a few staff in the hotel. A chef, a waiter, 2 staff at the counter and 2-3 staff to clean the room. We loved the BIG swimming pool as most of the time, we were the only people using the pool. It was kind of a private resort just for you. The staff could have been more courteous by greeting all customers. Only the hotel managers and waiter were polite. Also, on the last day of the room service delivery of breakfast, the waiter told us the amount of tips to give him. I was shocked as tip is optional if staff showed good services. I did give him tips for 1 set of breakfast delivered daily but if asking for how much tip to give, I think it is not very nice. I don’t give graciously as his services was not good. Since waiter asked for it, I gave it to him as seeing their earning is not a lot. Breakfast was not good, not consistent in services. Hotel was not near to city Center nor food stall. Depends on your expectation. If you want a big hotel but only a few staff n average services, having a personal ‘private’ villa then u can consider staying here.

We stayed during and for couple of days after the Cambodian New Year when the hotel was very busy, yet the staff appeared to function flawlessly from our attentive courteous bellman to our cool beverages in the great smelling lobby. The room was great, the A/ C worked well. Breakfast was buffet style, with many options including an omelet bar and staff refilled coffee and tea at your table throughout. Later we used the pool which came supplied with clean fresh towels and great service poolside. Even the maid service was above average. The only negative the WiFi was a little slow the first night but was fine later.

This hotel was very tired and clearly lacked staff and any money spent on it for some time. There were lots of dead bugs where they clearly had fumigated but then didn’t sweep up. The lighting in the hotel was very dull and the carpets were in bed of a good hoover but actually need to be replaced as thread bear. We had two power failures during the night which woke us up. The service was not good at all. Had to mention that our room safe didn’t work but repeatedly had to ask for this to be looked at. The breakfast was poor with very little choice and when food ran out it was not replenished. I didn’t see the pool water tested at all during our stay but I could have missed this of course. I would definitely think twice about staying at this hotel.

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is excellent. We spent some time photographing the beautiful decorations that are inside and outside.
Our room was spacious and clean with very classy wood floors and unique wood furniture. My wife was especially delighted with the claw foot jacuzzi tub! The hotel desk was very helpful arranging transport and making honest recommendations about the many local attractions.
I think that most of the guests are here for Angkor Wat and the other spectacular temples but this hotel is a worthy resort destination in its own right.

Overall, very good, but improvements are definitely required. The hotel is a bit dated and musty. Only the rooms are air conditioned and as it was oppressively humid while we were there, which took the edge of our stay. But the staff were amazing. Everyone we dealt with were superb with one lady in particular who was friendly and remembered our drinks order. She also gave us advice on what to see. I would love to stay there again but during the cooler time of the year. I am not sure if I can mention her name here, but she was excellent.

This is an older resort located outside of town on a busy commercial strip. (The location reminded me of the busy highway outside of Disney or Universal, with its many hotels). The lobby is beautiful and the staff are lovely. The first impression is one or restful luxury. However, the public areas, including the interior hallways, are not air conditioned, so it gets pretty stifling walking to your room. This may be a cost savings, or it may be just because it is an older property. The rooms do have a/c once you put your key in the slot by the door. Our room took a very long time to cool off; we called, but they kept telling us to wait. It did eventually cool off, but then it broke in the middle of the night dripping water all over the floor. They did come to fix it in a timely manner when we notified them the next day. Also at night, we were startled to see hundreds of small insects crawling all over the balcony doors outside the room, attracted to the light inside. This was unpleasant; we had to turn off the lights or keep the curtains shut once it got dark so they wouldn’t congregate. (Or we wouldn’t see them). The room itself was spacious, with plenty of space for storage, a balcony, and a beautiful view of the pool. This was the standard room, I imagine the deluxe are even nicer. The bathroom was also spacious, with a shower and separate jacuzzi tub. The decor is lovely, with many Asian and antique touches. The wifi in the room was not very good. The pool is beautiful, with a bar and fun elephant showers. The restaurant food was decent. Still, the hotel has an older, musty feel, and some things don’t work as well as they should. The location is on a busy commercial strip outside of town. This is ok if you’re only going to visit Angkor Wat and would like resort amenities to return to at the end of the day. Still, Siem Reap is a fun and pretty little town, with lots of fun bars, restaurants, and shops for all kinds of interests and budgets. We would have preferred to be located in a more central area within walking distance of all of that. If you’d like to see a bit of the town rather than be isolated, I would stay somewhere else. We had read in another review that the hotel offered a shuttle service to the town, but we didn’t see that and we were not told about that when we got there. We took a tuk tuk to town and back, on the very busy highway, which was certainly an adventure, though it’s quite common here.

We had a single night at this hotel on route to our holiday on the Mekong. The Hotel is on the main road out of Siem Reap and has a large pool surrounded by trees. After enjoying the ‘Happy Hour’ drinks we had a very pleasant meal in the restaurant, oddly there didn’t seem to be many other guests.

A beautiful traditional hotel in Siem Reap, quietly situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. I absolutely loved the place, as I always prefer a spacious and palatial atmosphere that feels like it’s all yours. The lobby is mesmerizing and beautifully designed, featuring elegant decor and a large swimming pool. As someone who values privacy, the experience felt truly royal to me.

There are steps to walk in to the pool . Smoking seems ok if outside of your room but not sure of smoking outside balcony as we stayed in a villa (given free upgrade) due to post covid reopening.

Gee I wasn’t aware of the party- But the place is huge and I’m sure there would be places that are peaceful for child. Also very safe area. I wish I could tell you more but I haven’t been there at that time of year. But the staff and property is very conducive for a sweet and wonderful time.
Well have a great trip! -Davy
