What I liked: The grounds and seeing the warthogs, baboons and antelope daily, and only wished I had seen the hippos that come out at night. The restaurant had a nice setting, and the food was decent, but not exceptional. I really like our driving guide, King, who was excellen

We had two nights here in October 2018 while on a month long safari through Botswana & Namibia. We were mainly camping with a once a week treat in a hotel. The staff here are great and the owners are a mine of useful information. The rooms are very comfortable and managed to get

My family and I stayed here. It is a well done mid range lodge that is a good base to explore Chobe River. The team are very friendly and helpful, the food is good, guides are okay and the views are lovely.
Lots of mongoose running around!

We stayed in the lodge for 3 nights to explore the Chobe National Park by game drive and boat cruises. The game drives with the lodge’s partner company Puku (we especially recommend the guide King who has a vast knowledge of all animals and always knew just where to find them - a

We used Kubu Lodge as a base for our game drives and other day trips. We found the staff to be very welcoming, friendly and helpful: Sharon, Susan, Doreen, Paulos and Shakes (to name just a few) were exceptional!

The menus were not extensive, but the meals we were offered were

we are a group of 5 adults traveling in 3 vehicles looking to camp at Kubu for 3 nights in April 2018. Is this a good idea or not having just spent a week in moremi and savuti
Hi Wendy. I presume you want to stay here to visit Chobe NP. I found Chobe a bit disappointing as it was so busy - had a few good animal sights, mainly on the river cruise - but too many boats and vehicles on the land tour (morning). Mind you, some of our group did the evening land tour and there weren't many people and they had some good sightings. We stayed two nights and that was plenty. I haven't been to Moremi or Savuti but did visit Kruger, Etosha and Makgadigadi on my recent trip and enjoyed these much more than Chobe. Re the accommodation, we stayed in a lodge at Kubu for one night rather than camping (just a stopover on our way back from Maun and the Makgadigadi Pans which were fantastic - both salt pans and NP are highly recommended). There were some tours organised from here but we didn't do any as we were returning to the area in a few days with a safari group and stayed closer to the NP at Chobe Safari Lodge - there is camping there right by the river which looked quite nice. If you want any more information, please let me know. Cheers, Janette

"All rooms are in the garden but I like those near the river edge"
"All rooms overlook the riverine woodland along the edge of the Chobe River"
"Campsite 2 and 5 with electricity, 3 nearest to river."
"Wifi is available in the reception area. Perfect to help disconnect."
"The campsites closest to the river banks are bigger and are very beautiful."
