We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at this Lodge. We found the Staff very accommodating and focussed on looking after their guests which they did throughout our stay. The catering staff must be congratulated on the variety and quality of their offerings which seemed to seamlessly appear throughout the day, excellent.

The various trips we took part in to Chobe NP and to the Chobe river were hosted by very knowledgeable and caring staff who worked wonders in ensuring that animals were found and their history, background explained in great detail. There was never a dull moment on these trips and once again, the snacks, drinks provided were first class.

I think the owners have made the right decision to upgrade the property, currently it is perfectly serviceable, but with the passing of time the current facilities, decor might be considered outdated by future guests. Tourism is a competitive market and other Lodges, Hotels etc might appear more attractive. One thing that many of them cannot offer is the intimacy of a small number of rooms and communal dining ......a real bonus in our eyes.

Top class boutique hotel on the banks of Chobe river in Kasane! Excellent staff, stylish and comfortable facilities capped by exquisite food and private (land and water) safaris made memories that will last a lifetime.

We stayed in a family room, which provided two single beds for our kids and a king size bed for my wife and I. Whilst not out on safari, we enjoyed the onsite pool as well as a retreat from the midday heat to our airconditioned room. The chef served top restaurant quality food at times pre-arranged with with us to suit our preferences.

Our twice daily safaris where arranged around our schedule and wishes, and each trip provided unique experiences. Our guide was very friendly, professional and knowlegable.

Overall an experience that exceeded our expectations.

Anja awaited us at the gate with welcoming cold facecloths ...what a pleasant welcome after a long and difficult trip through se Savuti. She is a very interesting lady and inform us of interesting places to visit. The personal also welcomes us warm heartedly. Every meal was served with love and the table was extraordinary well set. One can sense that the staff is proud of what they offer the guest. We really enjoyed our stay with Anja and her staff at The Garden Lodge.

Chobe River Lodge has direct access to the river. From the terrace you have a beautiful view over the garden to the river. The warthogs tell you "although you are in a civilized environment here, it is still wilderness".

The rooms are nicely furnished and offer a lot of space. All openings in the rooms are secured with fly screens, so there is no need for a mosquito net over the bed. We found this to be very pleasant.
It would be very nice if all rooms had a safe, but that can certainly be arranged :-)

The service is very good, you always have the impression that everything is very well organized. The food is very tasty and plentiful.

A great and interesting pool with nice loungers invites you to cool off.

The tour offer of "Wild Horizons" was fabulous with our guides BK (aka Botswana King :-)) and Tefo.
Were we already flashed by the boat tour with BK, we have to say that Tefo was the best tour guide of our 3-week tour. The man is the hammer! Three game drives through the park with him and none was like the other. His expertise and commitment were great!

We spent 2 nights at The Garden Lodge in March as our first stop in our 3 week road trip through Botswana. We had pre-arrange Kheto meals for my wife and we were not expecting much from any of the places we were going to be staying in as this may not be a very common request. Well were we pleasantly surprised. Hein pulled out all the stops to provide delicious meals. We had also requested a couples massage, which although is not currently offered by the lodge themselves, a mobile therapist with equipment was arranged by Hein and the massage was conducted on the premises (Now that is luxury service). The lodge is newly renovated and the quality of the workmanship is of a high standard. Our river cruise and game drive into the Chobe Game Reserve did not disappoint. We had so many animal encounters and all these activities are offered by the lodge and their staff.

If you are seeking all of the comforts of home but long to spend some time in the wilderness, then this lodge is a MUST for your next visit to Botswana.

For years the idea of a ‘luxury bushveld experience’ still required visitors to bite the bullet and shoulder the irritations of run down, poorly looked after facilities.

At the risk of sounding cliche, you do not have to look any further. This lodge epitomises modernity and luxury without compromising on the authentic African experience.

What’s more is the staff are excellently trained and friendly. They tended to all of our wants and needs and went out of their way to offer us unique activities outside of the normal tourist areas.

The only ‘bad’ part of our experience at this lodge was having to leave.

We will be back as soon as possible. Highly recommend. You cannot go wrong.

We stayed for two nights on our safari tour through southern Africa in this lodge right on the Chobe River. Here we saw the biggest crocodile of the trip, as well as lots of elephants, giraffes - and our first lions in the picturesque national park! The rooms in a two-story building were spacious, clean and really very nice. The (quite expensive) buffet had delicious meat from the hot stone (they say) and a rich salad for the vegetarians. The warm vegetarian offering, on the other hand, wasn't really great. Breakfast was excellent! WiFi OK.

We had an excellent and highly enjoyable experience. The staff were attentive, kind and knowledgeable. We did two activities organized by the lodge: a sunset river cruise and then on the next day, a full day safari. Both were fantastic - the guides were excellent, the scenery was beautiful and the wildlife viewing was great. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the prepared meals were convivial and delicious. One of our party is celiac, and the staff was attentive and able to accommodate his needs- no issues with gluten exposure. The views along the rivers edge contributed to the lovely experience . All in all a relaxing lovely experience.

Fantastic Lodge, Friendliest Staff, Best Sun-Downer, Best Water Safaris
On our trip from Windhoek to Botswana, it was this lodge that gave us a very special experience. We would have loved to never leave there again. We were only there for 3 nights. A next time is already planned and then 1 week.
The reception from the whole team with singing could not have been kinder and warmer. When we arrived there was a welcome drink and quick check in.
Daily boat trips as well as daily sun-downowners on an extra terrace are offered. Everything has always been super planned and very nicely offered.
Seeing animals from the boat is very special. The crocodiles and hippos are incredibly close. It was a one-off.
With the sunset we were back at the lodge to the Sun-Downer.
Do I have to mention that both lunch and dinner and sun-downowner were phenomenal?!!!
The decoration throughout the reception and lounge is super nice and something very special.
The game drive the next morning was indescribably great, with lions and elephants close by.
In short format: Very big cinema!
The rooms are very large and spacious. Also the bathroom is very large with bathtub, shower and extra toilet. We had a Villa right on the Chobe River. Seeing the sunrises there was unique. Also you could relax on the front terrace great.
It's no more perfect for us. Thank you!
We have been to many 5 star deluxe hotels, Vacation rentals and lodges worldwide. We have never experienced anything as special as this.

The place has a cool boutique feel and from the first minute you feel at home and looked after, everything is under control. We had a full board and safari programme which was perfectly managed everything worked like clockwork and the care and attention of everyone was as good as it could be. Go!
