The University Inn ( formerly Lamp Post Inn--- they still use that name in their emails) is a cute, clean and comfortable old Ann Arbor throwback. The new owner (as of two years ago) is working hard to update this war horse of a motel. Rooms are spotlessly clean, if not overly spacious. We rented the Double Queen with kitchenette...

We are very happy to see that you enjoyed your stay! We have definitely put a lot into renovations, and it is great to find that it is paying off for our guests. The parking lot is one of the last steps to that process, and we expect that work to be finished soon. We look forward to seeing you...

Travelled to Ann Arbor Michigan to watch a couple of baseball games and stayed at the University Inn. While it appears a bit dated the rooms are clean and comfortable. Rates are very reasonable and lots of amenities within a very short drive. Nice quaint place.

The location of the Inn was really excellent.....staying in one of the University Buildings was a little weird.....The room was nice, clean, could have used a few more blankets....they give you vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant downstairs, and its CLOSED on Saturdays...??? we had to get stuff at the little market......not great. Overall it was a convenient place to...

Parking available, ok. Room tinny and not so large but very clear. Only the fridge was not clean and still old drinks inside. The bed was very confortable. But but the bathroom is totally not usefull, and even worst, the shower was out of service !!!

A very early morning hospital appointment led me to seek overnight housing in Ann Arbor. Other reviews indicated The University Inn to be just what I was looking for - a place to stay without breaking the bank. Those reviews were right on. I'm willing to overlook tacky trim, cramped bathrooms and extremely small flat screen TV's. What I don't...

Beds were comfortable, rooms were nice but fairly small. Internet was very spotty. Bathrooms could be updated, not very temperature controlled showers and one person from our group found a spider in there but handled it on his own. We didn't want to complain or have that take away from the convenience and price of the motel. Breakfast was a...

Thank you for your review! Please make sure you book or ask for a deluxe King or QQ mini suite next time as these rooms exceed 450 SF - very roomy and we have plenty! Very close to Michigan campus, but not too close. Room was very clean, bed seemed fairly new. Negatives include bathroom sink in the bedroom, small bathroom/shower. And shower water power was particularly weak. Not bad for a 1-2 over night stay, but not much longer.

Convenient location, Low Price. Obviously money was spent to upgrade the bedrooms. Bathrooms should be high on the next renovation list. Check-in was quick and easy. Room was small but not uncomfortably small. Bath sink is in the bedroom if that bothers you. Bathroom pretty small - shower was weak - marginal. Otherwise the room was clean and bed was...

Travelled to see a football match and stayed here 3 days. Staff very welcoming and very helpful. Rooms spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and a nice bathroom. Rooms cleaned daily. Hotel near bus routes into town etc. which was very convenient. Would not hesitate staying here again. Retail park next door with Trader Joe's, hairdressers etc.

I travel from northern mi to WV a few times per year. It's a 12 hour drive and I usually stay overnight each way. I just happened to stumble on to this place about 3 years ago. It's an old place but very well maintained, clean and everything works including the wifi. There's a small shopping center next door with...
