Needed a place where Dad & I could stay for 3-4 days while we picked up some items from the farm to haul out to PA, and preferred a suite type of set-up with a kitchenette and two separate bedrooms--and didn't want to have to spend $100 per room, either. After checking all of the lodging options in the Alpena... More

This is a great place! We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way to the UP. After a 16 hour drive, we knew we were going to be getting in late and gave them a call about a late check-in - no problem. They set the room up so we could get in after hours and were... More

First off this is a Motel. Set your expectations to Motel. Second this is up north Michigan not Chicago or New York. That being said this is a very nice motel. We got the 2 room suite. Each of the bedrooms had a bathroom, nice. The rooms were very clean. The place has a lot of charm. The room had... More

Right across from Lake Huron, clean and friendly, we stayed in one of the front rooms facing the road. No road noise in the room that we noticed. Owners and Staff were obliging and made you feel very comfortable, they even let me weed the flower beds in front. LOL We would highly recommend to stay here, it was a... More

Randy, Sarah, Matt and Amy are great people and our stay was great. We almost had to leave early due to a malfunction with my boat but Matt helped us troubleshoot the issue and we got the boat back in operation. Matt was our hero for the 3 days that we were there. If/when we go back to Alpena, we... More

There was no fan in the bathroom. The shower was dark and the floor was so cracked it would be impossible to clean properly. The carpet was dirty, and I mean dirty. White socks turned black. The A/C froze every night and quit working shortly after midnight. The coffee was bitter and extremely weak, more like tea. $10 per night... More

They are restoring this old rode side Hotel. They have already done so much with it. They had the pool up and working. They are going to put in new carpet and curtains this winter. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was by a busy road so we did keep the fan on all night. He... More

The room I had was VERY small and not very comfortable either. This is an old facility...very out-dated (it appeared the room I stayed in had never been renovated - I assume the same is true for all the other rooms)...the carpet was severely worn (plus dirty)...it had an old style TV that worked marginally well (no flat screen)...and I... They all have brand new beds. new valances. blinds, etc. We have made everything tidy and clean, the tile is the older style but kept clean. even our dusting spray is 99% germ killer.... More

We stayed for two nights. I needed to change my reservation after the expedia stated deadline and they were very accommodating. It is near restaurants and shopping and the staff was friendly and gave directions when needed. The pool was clean. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. My son has already asked to stay there again.

When we decided to have a getaway last minute, we found this motel at a very good price and decided to book it after I read some reviews.
