This is a low-priced roadside motel, and we don't expect much when the price is low, but our room at the Allen Park had serious problems: 1) The box-springs were reinforced with something that produced great noise whenever one sat on the bed, got up from the bed, or changed position while on the bed. 2) The shower curtain wasn't long enough, and the curved shower rod had been bent down to try to compensate. The result was that the curtain slid to the center of the rod, which meant water on the floor. 3) A hole had been made in the wall next to the basin, in order to provide shut-off valves for the adjoining shower. Rather than installing an access panel, there was simply a foot-wide hole in the wall. None of this was acceptable. In addition, the hotel's rooms face directly onto a busy road with steady truck traffic. That's a problem that can't be fixed.
Decided to book a room here for a couple of nights when we decided to visit Detroit. I was very hesitant after seeing some reviews, worrying that my better half would not be happy with the few dollars I decided to save with a poorly run establishment. The outside is highly questionable, but the rooms are nice!! Fully renovated, and very well priced for its proximity to Detroit and Dearborn. I would visit again! I have removed a star for the exterior aesthetics, and then charging for a toothbrush($1) and toothpaste($2). Also, outlets would be nice to have near the beds in order to charge ones phone or other electronics.
I stayed in a upstairs Jacuzzi room. It was a very comfortable bed, room serviced by housekeepers daily while we were their. Both the ladies were very nice and did a great job!! Check in was easy also. I liked that it had a decent size fridge and microwave in the room. Jacuzzi was nice and relaxing and placement was nice could watch tv from it!!
My girlfriend & I spent an awesome weekend here for a wedding a few weeks ago. We found it through Expedia and being pretty close to the Detroit attractions (casino, Ford Field, Little Caesars Arena) was great. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable and less than half the price of downtown hotels. The furniture seems new & the family like service was top notch. Glad I found this place!
I've reviewed this hotel before, but I have to do it again as they have been really improving their rooms and updating them. We stayed in what they termed a 'handicapped' room which meant no tub just shower and we loved it! The shower was so nice, very roomy with a great shower head. The room was totally redone - newly painted, new furniture with a comfortable bed, fridge and microwave - all you'd expect and for a truly reasonable price. There is no breakfast offered, but there is coffee in the lobby. The staff is really friendly and helpful and you can't find anything this nice for around $50/night many places. I love this place and we stay there every time we're in the area visiting family.
