Hotel's Favourite
What a lovely experience. Great to spend some time working in the city, then come back to a very secluded and peaceful haven. The hotel is lovely and clean, staff are wonderfully supportive and the facilities catered for everything I needed.
The highlight of my stay was the Samana spa. Christine and Anna took such great care of me, I found myself popping in from time to time just to feel a little pampering. The massage was one of the best I've ever had ! Thank you all for making a very demanding business trip much more manageable by taking good care of me after hours. I will definitely return if the opportunity is there.

From the moment you walk into the Melia Desert Palm you are immediately greeted by what will be the standard of your stay-professional, courteous and constantly going above and beyond the expected. The grounds are impeccably clean and organized. The check in staff were impeccably dressed and the lobby and front reception area immaculate. You are recognized by name whether you go to the bar, the steakhouse restaurant or pool. The rooms in the main hotel are beautifully decorated and maintained and the view of the polo grounds is something out of a movie. If you are looking to catch a polo match, spend a weekend at a top rated spa or just want to get away from the lights and noise of the main Dubai city then this oasis in the desert is a MUST STAY. DXB airport is 25 minutes away as is Blue Water and JBR beach area but Uber is always only 5-min wait.

With the current Coivd restrictions in place, the booking of this trip was performed over many emails between myself & the reservations team. When we arrived at the hotel it was only then that we was informed the steakhouse restaurant and bar were closed, and only available option was the pool restaurant. Having been informed that the steakhouse menu was available seemed and acceptable compromise. However, not a single steak was available via the online menu...so this was not true. The restaurant was also being used as a playground...as it was the only place available within the hotel.
The room was of an acceptable quality and cleanliness, but the private pool had not seen any attention prior to our arrival. House keeping was scarce with only 1 visit during the 2 night stay, so the towels and general tidying up was not addressed.
On check-out we raised our concerns on these topics and told that a representative would call. After 5 weeks this call is still awaited...

One of the worst hotel ever I stayed in we took two bedroom villa with private swimming pool so can my kids gets happy as we paid 5000 AED for two nights but I found the villa with out dated furniture with cigarette remarked every where and cups, light out side is not working and the doors to the garden is not closing
The next day the house keeping is not showing as I called 5 times to request, the room service took forever to deliver the food with takeout plates as the food was cold with over priced and not quality as no one touch it .
The swimming pool was full of incests, lizard everywhere and cats .
We requested cake for my birthday which is never show .
Really itās is very bad experience with Melia desert palm as I recommend to select other hotels in Dubai which is much better and cheaper with better service.

The hotel is lovely. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
Be aware itās a 20-30 minute taxi trip to the city, but the average trip with the careem app was around 80 AED each way, so quite reasonable.
I stayed in a Palm Suite room (note that booking direct on their website was significantly cheaper than any booking sites) and found it very comfortable & the view of the birds and the green polo fields were a welcome sight when opening the curtains, when compared to the skyscrapers of the city.

I booked the 2 bedroom villa (with private pool) in August 2022. The hotel is more like a mini neighbourhood, with lots of small houses.
Checkin process was very smooth & the receptionist i dealt with was informative, friendly, & welcoming. We were given fresh cold juice while checking in.
The entire staff i dealt with were friendly, proficient, helpful, respectful. Wonderful team.
The private villa has 2 shaded parking spots. The villa was beautiful: big living room, high ceilings, 1 master bedroom with a big bathroom & another room with 2 twin beds with its own bathroom. Great air conditioning that can easily be adjusted & super cold.
Kitchen was lovely: fridge, freezer, kettle, coffee machine, pots & pans, utensils, dishwasher, cups, glassware, trash cans, plates..fully equipped kitchen.
Private pool, & it was really private as in even the neighbours cannot see. Pool was big & it was 1.4 meters deep, it is not gradient, meaning the entire pool is 1.4 meters deep. This was a con because usually pools start shallow & then get deeper, however, this pool was all one level.
Major con during my stay: cleanliness. Upon entering, i noticed the tv remotes are sticky & not clean.
The pool itself was dusty, u can see the water was not clean & even the sunloungers (tanning chairs) were not clean.
However, without asking, the pool was cleaned the 3rd day, but alas 2 days have already past.
In the master bathroom, the bathroom sink & bathtub had ants that kept appearing even after i killed them. I called the hotel the 2nd day to fix this issue & they sent someone to spray the bathroom. That fixed the problem.
The shower drainage was also not cleaned when i called for housekeeping. I would still see hair stuck in the point drain in the shower.
The shower door is poorly designed: the glass door would not open after i finished showering because the sink is right behind it! And pulling it inwards wont open the door as well! I was stuck in the shower for 15 minutes until my friend came and opened the door for me from the outside. I donāt know what would have happened if i were aloneā¦itās not smart at all to have the sink be placed right behind the shower door.
Iāve never had such weird incident happen in any hotel.
Overall, i had high expectations & was disappointed. Itās not an awful place, but needs through cleaning & old damaged furniture need to be replaced.
Would i return? No
Would i recommend? Perhaps given that many arabs prefer private pools & this was indeed private.

This was a perfect backdrop to my 30th birthday. I craved for serenity that wasn't too far from the city leaving my toddler behind, and I found exactly that at Melia. When considering Melia don't expect luxury, or Versace toilets. Think comfort, warmth, and intimacy. The property displays gorgeous views of the polo fields, with magestic horses trotting around. The room was well equipped, & we loved they provided Rituals toiletries. The bathroom had a his and her sink, and glass doors so you may not have privacy if you're sharing a room with friends, however we loved it. I was especially impressed that the room was provided with prayer mat and a qibla direction on the ceiling, which unfortunately is a rare find in dubai.
The pool was surprisingly deep, and we loved it! Grab a bike at the gym and explore on your own, or take a horse ride on the vast fields. The front desk is very helpful, and so were most of the staff. We really appreciated Emman guiding us through the property, and always being accessible with a smile. He's the guy to go to if you want someone with a gentle face.
It was unfortunate we couldn't dine at RARE since it's closed on Sundays which was not mentioned on Booking. Com so make sure you call ahead. The asian man operating their front deak at the gym was a patient gentleman. I am embarrassed to not have asked his name, but he was absolutely lovely with us in assisting with our bicycles, the steam and sauna, and basically everything from the get go.
Suparna at Epicure was incredibly hospitable. Their breakfast was good, but I personally prefer buffets at resorts. The quality of breakfast was great but the waiter was dismissive and rude. He took 40 mins to serve and take our order but Suparna had swooped in both times to save the meals. She apologized, and went out of her way to make sure we enjoy our time.
Overall this is the place to be if you want a SPA retreat with a few girlfriends away from noise and bustle.

I love Melia and Melia never stops surprising me. Melia Desert Palm is an absolutelly fantastic hotel. From my opinion the hotel is situated in the best place to stay in Dubai, far away from the noise of the center (what I really appreciate) but on the other hand it is easy and cheap to go anywhere to the center so I can see just everything very positive. The hotel has an amazing food in all the restaurants. I tried a lot of restaurants in the time that I was in Dubai but honestly the food in the hotel was best, the swimming pool, a lovely decoration and spa and much other things like for example horses makes this hotel wonderful.. The rooms are very elegant and very confortable and the personal is extreamly good and kind, so it is impossible to ask for something else. The breakfast at Epicure restaurant with Mrs. Suparna who is a lovely and kind woman that was the happiness of all our mornings with her delicious breakfast. I really appreciate her attention. In the reception Mr. Helmy was also extreamly professional and kind at the same time so they made my holidays unforgeteable and I am really looking for to come back to Melia Desert Palm. Thank you so much MELIA!!

Yes. It means valet parking, near polo suites.
Yes they are. They are temperature controlled throughout the year, so heated in winter and cooled in the summer
Some of the villas are facing the polo court.
