Nestled on the iconic Palm Jumeirah, the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah garners praise for its spacious and pristine rooms with sweeping views, though a few guests suggest a modern update. The hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness receive high marks for elegant decor and meticulous upkeep. While its location offers stunning vistas, some guests find it a bit isolated.

Sixth visit to Dubai but first visit to the Waldorf Astoria (The Palm) and it will not be the last. From the moment we arrived to the day we left the service was exceptional. We selected and paid extra for the Pearl Lounge on the 5th floor and it was a great choice. We had breakfast there each day, afternoon tea most days and always had pre-dinner cocktails. The staff are amazing and the quality and choice of food and drinks is excellent. The hotel has three restaurants but as we had access to the Pearl Lounge we did not eat at all in the main restaurant. The two restaurants, Loa and Social were superb with great choices from the half board menu and other choices were available for a supplement. In particular Eshan in the Lao was a perfect host combining friendliness with high levels of professionalism; we ate there 5 times. The Social restaurant served very good food selections but lacked the atmosphere of Lao. After our meal we always had drinks in the Serafina Bar where Gwen and Teja made our evening a little more special with their excellent service. Entertainment in the evenings was also very good. Room service (often overlooked in reviews) for both morning and evening was very good and special mention should go to Salman and Buddli and Wazim and Salmin. Rooms were kept spotless and always kept supplies of toiletries and coffee/tea topped up. The beach is also very good and Santosh was very good in ensuring we always had a good position for our loungers and kept us regularly topped up with water in ice buckets. The beach is kept spotless and fro families the LifeGuards are constantly on watch for anyone in trouble. As regards the pool areas, these were very nice and it was a nice touch tio have an adults only pool and the main pool was full of children. Only negative as that the room we were allocated was sea facing and also faced a busy road, though the soundproofing was very good. However, the balcony also was in the eye line of a construction site which meant we did not use the balcony. I tried to get moved to a room on the other side of the hotel (Palm view) but a room was not available fopr three days so as we wanted to unpack and start our holiday we stayed where we were. Thanks for the receptionist Thinzan for her efforts in trying to get us moved. I would recommend that anyone booking should select the Pearl Longe access but insist on a room on the Palm view side. Not much more I can say except we had a great experience in this hotel

This hotel never disappoints which is why we keep returning - this was our fifth time. Familiar faces on arrival who recognised us from our previous visits - they really looked after us. This hotel is like a home from home for us. The hotel itself is classy and facilities are just what we need. We received 5 star treatment throughout our stay.
Location - the hotel is on the Palm and after spending some time near JBR I’m so pleased we continue staying at this hotel. It’s away from the madness and allows you to retreat to a calm relaxing environment. We could quite easily not leave the hotel but nevertheless we did to meet friends. We ordered Uber taxis and they are so reasonable.
Reception - warm welcome with a cold towel, welcome drink, thorough explanation of the facilities and a big smile.
Pearl Club Room - the most amazingly comfortable bed and Bathrobes. The complimentary toiletries by Aesop were amazing. The room was spacious, clean and had a fabulous view. Housekeeping did a fabulous job cleaning the room - twice a day which was very much appreciated.
Pearl Club Genuine VIP treatment from all staff which is why we always select this option in addition to our room. The food and drinks options are fantastic. The staff, including the chefs, go above and beyond in Pearl Club. The canapés are delicious and the breakfast offerings are fantastic - the pastries in particular are delicious. The whole lounge deserves recognition but a few people we’d love to mention who really are amazing and looked after us: Sagar, Mercy, Evelyn, Saba, Jennifer and Umesh. Thank you for everything, you’re all very special to us.
Poolside Every day all staff looked after us. There were days the staff would, unprompted, set up the same loungers for us each day! This was unexpected and we were very grateful. Cold towels, sunglasses cleaned, a hose down with ice cold water fragranced with Jasmine and regular top ups of ice cold drinking water - made our pool visits special and comfortable. Palm avenue staff were always on hand if you required food - which is delicious. One observation is the staff run about so much I’m not sure how they do it in that heat - and they’re always smiling and ready to help. A few people who really looked after us we’d like to mention: Perara, Thomas, Sasi, Donesh and Sagar. Thank you so much for everything.
LAO The food here is exceptional, as is the service. We ate here three times during our stay. Eshan provided fabulous service and really looked after us - thank you. Eshan asked for a picture with us one evening then on our last night, placed a card on our table with our picture on it along with a thank you from all the staff - so lovely. All the staff are fantastic, including the chefs.
Mezzerie The restaurant has a different theme night every night - we tried each one as we stayed for 2 weeks, it never disappoints. The Head Chef remembered us from our previous visits and was always keen to ensure we liked the food. He’d always make a point of saying hello. If you wanted something they didn’t have they will do their best to ensure you’re accommodated. The dessert station is fabulous.
Gym The gym is excellent and has all the equipment you need for a great workout. Fabulous view from the treadmills of the Burj Al Arab.
Thank you to everyone for looking after us and for making our stay so memorable, you’re all amazing. ❤️

My wife and I decided we needed to get away from the cold, wet and gloomy UK and get some winter sunshine and couldn’t think of a better place than the Waldorf Astoria on the Palm Jumeirah.
6 years since our last stay here and I am pleased to report that nothing has changed. It is still one of the most pristine, calming and delightful places we have ever stayed at.
What makes the place so special is without doubt its people. Wherever you go within this vast, palatial and immaculately clean hotel you are greeted with a smile, and greeting (often with your name which is incredible bearing in mind how many guests they have).
As we’ve done before we stayed in a Pearl King Room on the 5th floor facing the sea, with great views across to the Burj Al Arab and the Burj Khalifa. Spacious with plenty of storage, a separate bath and shower, plus a desk and seating area all luxuriously appointed.
Another reason (and recommendation to anyone thinking of staying here) to choose a Pearl level room is because it gives you access to the Pearl lounge also on the 5th floor. This lounge with wonderful views across the Palm enables you to enjoy a peaceful breakfast away from the crowds downstairs, soft drinks and refreshments throughout the day, afternoon tea and then cocktails and canapés in the evening. A real haven of tranquility that adds to your holiday experience.
Here you will get to know and enjoy the world class service from an amazing team of WA employees. A massive thank you to Evelyne, May, Sony, Jennifer, Shiena, Mukul, Governdan, Amrita and Allannagh who made us feel so very special and looked after us throughout our stay.
Another benefit of the WA is the adult pool, situated a nice distance away from the main pool. Here you will find the exceptional Sasi and his lifeguard colleague Sohan. Nothing is ever too much trouble for these two gentlemen and their smiles, service and making time to stop and chat with us really stood out. They both work so very hard in the hot Dubai sunshine to ensure everyone has a good time and everything they need (even time to come and clean your sunglasses!) Thank you guys.
Finally, we would also recommend going half board as that gives you the ability to dine in each of the three a la carte restaurants (Palm Avenue, Social and Lao) on specially created menus. Please see my separate reviews for Social and Lao in particular - both wonderful places to eat and again enjoy exceptional service.
All in all a great return to our hotel of choice in Dubai - a calm oasis on the Palm away from other busier areas of Dubai. A real escape with a chance to rest and recharge which is exactly what we were able to do.

Overall, we had a good stay at this hotel, largely thanks to our wonderful experience at the Social restaurant.
The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the hotel was able to accommodate our request for two connecting rooms, which we really appreciated. The spa area is also beautiful, and the massages were very good. The pool area is large and clean, and our son had a fantastic time splashing around all day. A big plus for families is the Little VIP program, which offers thoughtful amenities and activities for children.
Disappointments & Areas for Improvement
We specifically chose this hotel because it is marketed as both a luxury and family-friendly hotel, and good restaurants are very important to us. Upon arrival, we were informed that one restaurant was closed for renovations and that another (Social) did not allow children. This left us with only two options: the buffet restaurant and the Asian restaurant.
We generally dislike buffets, which is why we had chosen a hotel with high-quality à la carte dining. None of these restrictions were mentioned on the website.
We decided to eat at the Asian restaurant, where the quality was mediocre—but even worse, the food was cold. After sending it back, it was returned to us still cold.
Later, we walked past Social, and thankfully, the kind manager informed us that children are actually welcome. From then on, we dined there every evening, and the food was outstanding. However, for a luxury hotel, it is unacceptable that guests are misinformed about dining options and left with only one (poor) restaurant unless they actively seek alternatives.
Another major issue: • The pool and beach were only accessible from 9/10 AM. Since this is supposed to be a family-friendly resort, this was very frustrating. Our son woke up at 5 AM, but we couldn’t even let him play at the beach or baby pool until much later in the morning. • Weekend day guests from outside the hotel often leave trash everywhere, take pool toys, and behave as if they are on a party vacation or let‘s just say behave like animals. • The food at the pool was really disappointing; definitely not the quality you’d expect from a luxury resort.
It’s generally a good hotel, but with these kinds of issues, the price-performance ratio just isn’t right. For a luxury hotel, we expected much better communication, service consistency, and a more exclusive atmosphere.

In search of a week's rest from 16.11.24-22.12.24 we found what we were looking for in the Waldorf Astoria. It is located on the palm tree, which is a little outside but probably provides a little more peace for it. However, with a taxi comes well into the city. The Deluxe Sea View Room is spacious and beautifully decorated. The Houskeeping goes to great lengths to beautify the ambience or to fulfill wishes. Small things (e.g. the transparent intermediate curtain, is quickly clamped and was therefore dirty) could be replaced. Furthermore, a certain soundscape is created from the adjacent street. Overall: great bed, great bathroom and great views.
On the beach and pool area, a special service of Borzo, Sasi and Jar is offered. Enough pool towels are provided, cool water & cool towels are served and shade is provided at all times. We felt perceived and cared for at all times. Thank you.
The gastronomic offer is extensive. Breakfast is served buffet restaurant Mezzerie. It is very extensive and something for everyone. From the ambience we sat every day on the terrace and also felt comfortable.
Through our half board we ate mostly in the evening at the hotel. The Mezzerie offers various buffet evenings. Highlights here are the BBQ, delicious meat freshly prepared.
At Lao we were directly two nights together and it offers a la card dishes, as well as a three course menu. The food is delicious and the service is more personal than at Mezzerie. For example, we were greeted directly by name on the second evening and our orders from the previous evening were known.
Palm Avenue becomes a great ambience in the evening with a BBQ grill. We can recommend the prawns and the Lobster. Kamlesh and his colleagues have been very hard at work here.
Sunset 55 offers great views and sunset atmosphere. When the sky turns red it looks fantastic.
We hope we have not forgotten anything and thank you for the great stay.
PS. We are already planning our next stay.
Best regards Carsten & Sarah

I could write for hours on how perfect this hotel was! It was my first time in Dubai and my partners second. I can’t express how much I enjoyed my stay at the Waldorf Astoria from the staff to the grounds alone. Some key points are:
1) Book taxis via the Careem app - they are cheap, quick and incredibly safe. We never struggled getting a taxi from our hotel (longest wait time was around 6 minutes) 2) Book trips via “get your guide” we were able to do a 2 hour yacht tour for £46 each which included a BBQ lunch. 3) You are able to swap your half board option if you are eating out at a dinner time. We often left for dinner so changed our reservations to lunch. 4) Food around the pool is fantastic - scan the QR code and enjoy drinks and food at your leisure! You can either charge the room or pay via cash/card from your sun bed. 5) There are towels around the pool and plenty of sun beds on the beach. Pool staff will bring you ice buckets of water as well as chilled flannels and a water sprayer to cool you down! 6) Rooms get cleaned around twice a day as well being asked if you want towel changes etc all of the time. 7) If you have a late check in, you are kindly given the opportunity to order room service to which they will give you credit towards (we got given 300 dirhams to order food between us and it was more than enough)
To highlight, the staff are fantastic, the hotel is lovely and food plentiful. No stone is left unturned. I cannot wait to be back to Dubai in the future and I am sure we will enjoy plenty of stays at the Waldorf not only in Dubai but elsewhere too!

Honestly couldnt fault this hotel at all! For the first time travelling with a baby, they went above and beyond to help us at every turn. The service staff are amazing, from the restaurant chefs, waiters, room cleaning staff, front desk, pool staff! Everyone!! Really what is needed for a trip with a baby. The pool was large and the staff were always ready to give us towels and water/help us with anything! The restaurant staff always made sure they catered to my husbands allergy and the food was sooo good! A good range of healthy foods as well as naughty ones. Deserts were epic! All of the chefs were amazing. The waiters were really helpful and the room cleaning staff were so nice they even helped my take my pram to the room when they could see me struggling. Just the little things. You definitely get what you pay for here and i would recommend this hotel to any family wanting to not venture out all of the time (getting out of the palm takes at least 15-20mins). Will return.

We have just returned from our 8th visit to this lovely hotel, and we continue to return here mainly because of the wonderful staff. Every member of the team have a smile when you meet, from check in to departure they are always so friendly and customer focused, a real credit to the hotel! The property always smells amazing upon arrival, and is spotlessly clean in all areas. The food this year in the Mezzerie we found to be much better than the previous couple of years, especially the Indian themed evenings. We also love Lao, we ate there twice during our stay, both times looked after extremely well by the lovely Alex and Eshan, the food was very good and the half board menu is great value, also recommend the Friday evening brunch, so much food, and the drinks package is good value too! We had a lovely suite on the 5th floor with Pearl Club access, stunning Palm views with beautiful sunsets, the rooms are spacious and have everything you need, and the housekeeping staff, both cleaners and turn down services are excellent! The Pearl Club is a lovely calm space to enjoy breakfast in the morning, and the staff, as always, go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Mercy and Evelyn, you are both amazing lovely people, and we are always so grateful for all that you do for us! We were also incredibly thankful for the continued great service from Borzo, he was a star making sure we were well attended to and really was like our personal concierge, booking dinner for us in Lao, and moving us each day from the adult pool in the afternoons to the family pool so we weren’t subjected to the awful noise of the beach club! The hotel was hosting a large corporate party for most of our stay, which we were not aware of, and every afternoon we had to suffer the terrible noise and thudding base from the arrogant female DJ who thought this was acceptable. The opening of this awful area was surely dreamed up by some social media influencer, if we wanted an Ibiza style experience we would go to Ibiza! Please get rid of it! Placing this area by the adult pool really impacts on the peaceful environment that we come here for, and to overtaken by rowdy drunk thirty-somethings is not my idea of relaxation! As has happened on past visits, sometimes the hotel residents are overlooked by large corporate events. Borzo was our saviour, gaining the itinerary and moving us each day to the more peaceful family pool when the music started, he really does go above and beyond, and is a true asset to the hotel! We were also delighted to meet Dinesh at the adult pool, who looked after us so well all week, cleaning our sunglasses, providing plenty of iced water and hosing us down with lemongrass scented water! Lovely! ☺️

Our fifth visit to the Waldorf which enjoys a wonderful location on the outer Palm. Views of the Burj Al Arab on one side and the Palm on the other.
We stayed in a pearl club king room which provides access to their lounge with breakfast afternoon tea and cocktails in the evening
The adult pool area is a peaceful haven with again excellent service from in particular Sasi Jar and Ojo who keep you supplied with water and fresh towels. There is also a sunglass cleaning service
We ate in all the restaurants which were a high standard with the Indian night at the buffet one of the highlights
The only downside at the moment is construction happening on a site adjacent to the hotel which causes some disturbance.

This was our first family holiday (with a 7month old baby) so we was very nervous about going abroad with everything that comes with a baby of this age. Due to this, we was very careful with where we chose to stay, but I can honestly say the Waldorf on the Palm did not disappoint.
We was greeted with genuine smiles from the moment we got to the hotel, all of the staff were extremely friendly and very attentive to us and our baby.
We arrived before our check in time, but the reception team did everything they could to get us a room early to help with feeding and changing, which they did by getting us a room 4 hours early, which was extremely helpful.
The pool area is great for families with children of all ages (there is a separate adults only pool the other side of the pool bar). The baby pool was a bit small and not a lot to it, but we spent most of the time in the main family pool anyway. There are floats etc available to buy, but the lifeguards and pool staff are always looking out for the children and getting them toys etc.
Aziz the lifeguard was particularly excellent to us. He realised that we had a young baby so was constantly checking we had everything we needed and did his best to get us in a good spot with the sunbeds to keep baby in the shade. I couldn’t thank him enough for everything he did for us.
We ate in the Mezzarie restaurant each morning and night as it was easier for us with the baby and staff were great again. They were always welcoming and attentive to the baby, they got us a high chair every time and was always coming to see us (but mainly the baby :D). The food was lovely and plenty of choice.
Our room was a good size with a great view of the palm (a must as the sunsets were amazing) it was always spotless and replenished nicely. The bed was also huge and the team got us a cot for the baby (although it was deep, so tricky to place a baby gently at the bottom).
We used the personal assistance team on a daily basis to come and collect the baby bottles that we had used and clean and sterilise them. This was such a great help, we had taken our own sterilising tablets, but this service made things so much easier. Special thanks to Win and the team for this.
The only downside to our stay was the construction work going on next door, it was noisy round the pool due to this in the day time. Unfortunately I think this is one of those things in Dubai that you risk, with its huge expansion, that it’s hard to get away from.
Overall though we couldn’t really fault the stay here at the Waldorf Astoria, I would definitely recommend, with or without children of any age. We spoke to a few people staying at the hotel who come back regularly, and I think we will too.
Thanks to all the team for making it such and enjoyable and memorable stay
