My wife and I wanted to stay in a hotel with local character and color...the Arabian Courtyard Hotel was the perfect choice. Everything outside and inside was Arabic-themed, even the decorations over the beds, even the closet doors. Service was excellent (we opted for the Executive Package), and our room was on the top floor. Directly across the street was...

We chose this hotel mainly because of the price. The staff were very nice and tried to be very helpful but some didnt really understand that much English. I felt that the concierge (where we were sent whenever we asked a question) needed to be more clued up as he didnt have any ideas of what to do and where...

Overall we had a great stay in this hotel it is on an excellent location and close to the tube etc. the staff were lively especially the concierge. The health club was nice and a great idea to give out the beach kits. The room was lovely although it was a double and was well stocked I had a few...

My wife and I stayed three nights. We quite enjoyed our stay there, a large room and comfortable and with a great shower. We easily recommend the hotel. It is in a busy Indian area with lots of shops and people but quite safe. An ATM just around the side of the hotel. The Indian restaurant inside the hotel serves...

This is an older hotel but it is decorated in a beautiful Arabian style, and its location in the older section of Dubai right near the old fort/museum is perfect . Our room was very large with a huge comfortable bed. The view from the window was mainly old roof tops, perhaps ask for a room overlooking the museum if...

We chose this hotel because of the beautiful Arabian decor and furnishings, and its location in the older section of Dubai and were absolutely delighted. We ate at 2 of the restaurants, both were excellent for food, service and value, and had cold beers (very welcome after the heat of the day) in the Sherlock Holmes pub. The staff were...

My sister and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel. I can honestly say that I would recommend it without any hesitation. The location is great for sightseeing, and the staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you. We were staying on a bed and breakfast basis, and the buffet style breakfast options are...

Stayed here for two nights, nice hotel. Didn't use the pool or sauna, Chinese restaurant was very good. Has English pub in hotel. Very close to the museum and creek! Staff were so helpful, best staff I've ever seen in a hotel! Would return for that!

We stayed here for 2 nights on a layover between the US and South Africa. The hotel is old style, but is very clean and in a great location near the creek. You would do better to stay near the beach if you are interested in the water park- which is about a 15 minute (but inexpensive) taxi ride from...

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
