Beautifull hotel, nice break from Dubai & Abu Dhabi. Pools in the middle of the desert so nice:-) Restaurants so nice. Everything is positive about this hotel. Traditionnal, quiet, relaxing, nice roof tops for sunset. For sure if I return to UAE, I'll will go again and for a few nights to this place.

This hotel was a nice break from the city of Dubia. My two boys loved the pool and enjoyed the camel ride. The rooms are neatly decorated and feels very Arabic. The staff were all super friendly and more personable than the other two hotels we stayed in Dubai. One night going to dinner we accidentally left the safe open....

The resort design is very good resembling UAE old communities. The rooms are very nice as traditonal UAE style. The check in staff were efficient. The food was good however overpriced. The rooms price was also on the high side. The room service is bad. I requested extra water at 2:45pm I got it at 6:40pm. There were many mosquito...

Good things: Checking in was fast. Few minutes to get to the room. Nice design and atmosphere. Bad thing: I always need to be connected to the internet. but it seem that the 3G reception is too bad in the room. 4G not available. Wifi is free but lousy. It keep disconnecting every few minutes.

We enjoyed Friday brunch on April 3rd at Al Forsan and the team served us very well. Kids stuff was great but my wife thought the camels looked overworked - haha We were extremely pleased with our dining experience and will continue to recommend Bab Al Shams to our friends and visitors to the UAE.

Bab al Shams is still a choice to experience some desert Feeling. But it Needs some refurbishment as well. It is not a 5* Level, not in Service neither in ameneties. It seems to live on the fact that in Dubai is not much choice in Desert Hotels. The pricing seems too high for what is offered. Breakfast area is...

Wonderful evening in Al hadheerah restaurant where is the atmosphere of Arabic cuisine and music and heritage shows. The service was excellent . Our waiter Yasser was unusual . The price was very appropriate, where they can use NBD card will get a very good discount. I will come back soon with my family.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
