Fairmont The Palm is often celebrated for its ample amenities, including a luxurious Gold Lounge and family-friendly pools that guests have called out for enhancing their leisure experience. The hotel's prime location is also a hit among travelers, offering close proximity to beaches and attractions. However, some guests have been disturbed by the loud music from nearby beach clubs, particularly at night, which has impacted the otherwise tranquil atmosphere. While the service receives high marks for attentiveness, the value proposition is occasionally questioned due to pricey drinks and additional charges. Rooms are generally well-regarded for their cleanliness and comfort, despite some noise complaints and dated decor.

First time in Dubai, and my choice of hotel did not disappoint. I wanted to stay on the Palm Jumeirah, but not on the crescent as I knew I’d be sightseeing and shopping. So this hotel was a perfect location for me.

Fairmont - Palm Jumeirah (not to confused with Fairmont in the city centre) is an 8 min walk to Nakeel Mall and The View (highly recommend). You’ll also find the Golden Mile Mall opposite the hotel for your needs.

However…. There no need for anything! You will find everything at Fairmont. Upon arrival, the welcome was great and I really appreciated the early check-in (due to an overnight flight). Every staff member I met, was so friendly and attentive. From Mubarak helping us with our luggage, Mariam in reception, to Anna in the Leisure Lounge! I really did appreciate all you did for me. I’m sorry that I didn’t remember everyone’s name, but each one of you was amazing!

The hotel had a great choice of food for the buffet breakfast/dinner. I thought it was very well organised, quick, and efficient. I loved the fact the staff remembered my coffee order and how I would need 2 cups back to back! Unfortunately, being a Coeliac, I have to be Gluten Free. This was my one and only concern but I was not disappointed.

The head chef, Krishnan, met me, walked me through the restaurant, offered to make my own dishes, and was incredibly polite about helping me. The knowledge was great with all the staff, and I was definitely on their radar each time I arrived for breakfast/dinner. Krishnan made some amazing dishes for me, and I was very grateful, especially with the knowledge and importance of being gluten free. There was also a gentleman, Abinand (hope this is right) who was on the pastry/bread counter. He would get me bread and pastries pre-wrapped/warmed up for me each day. So I did not need to worry about cross contamination and the packaging was certified. (Very important for anyone who has to be Gluten Free).

I also dined at the SeaGrill restaurant and, again, was not disappointed. The staff (Irfan, Mark, Pristanth and everyone whose name I didn’t note! Sorry!) explained the menu I could choose from, and again, I ate some amazing dishes. I liked the chilled vibe and attentiveness this place had to offer. I actually ate here 4/5 evenings as, after a long day of sightseeing, it was nice to relax and enjoy some good food. Oh and loved the choice of music!

During my stay, I needed some medical attention. Their in-house medical team were fantastic with me. Really appreciated the extra care and advice given. Again, the hotel caters for everything!

The hotel itself is very impressive. From the lobby, to the rooms, pools, beach,… and just the atmosphere overall. Despite the hotel being fully booked, it was such a chilled environment and so well organised. I really cannot fault it!

You can go for lovely walks around the area and the West Beach. You’ll find the security man, Delavar, very helpful and he will tell you what and where everything is.

Lastly I want to give a big thank you to the 2 young men who cleaned my room daily. They were fantastic and I wish I remembered their names. Nothing was ever too much for me to ask them. So pleasant, helpful, and they did a fantastic job with my room.

Since returning back to London, I’m already looking at dates for when I can return to Fairmont! I need to tick off Global Village from my list!

Quick Tip: The hotel does have a shuttle service for free. Departs 3 times a day to Dubai & Emirates Mall. Upon check-in, the staff do explain all this to you!
And don’t forget the tourism tax which, for 7 nights, was 140 AED.

I stayed at Fairmont The Palm with my wife and our 2 children 23-31 Aug 2024 and we had an amazing time!

We arrived at the hotel in the early hours of 24 Aug and when I asked the receptionist where I could buy food, I was pleasantly surprised to be told that the dinner from the prior evening’s menu could be delivered to our room, at no additional charge. We were upgraded from a partial sea view room to a full sea view room, which was a lovely gesture.

Throughout our stay, the hotel’s chefs catered for my son’s specific dietary needs brilliantly. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous when he was served-up a huge à la carte steak and bespoke-baked, fine dining-style strawberry cakes!

We had opted for the half board option and could eat breakfast plus lunch or dinner each day. The food and drink provided was of a very good quality, whilst you can use your All.com membership number to receive a 30% discount off the price of any soft drinks that you might choose to consume with your lunch or dinner.

The hotel services and facilities staff couldn’t have been more hospitable. Anything we requested for our room, for example additional pillows and for the mini-bar’s contents to be removed so that we could store the complimentary bottled water (which was replenished as necessary throughout our stay) in there, was fulfilled promptly and diligently. We used the hotel’s laundry service once during our stay and our laundry was returned to us beautifully presented, within a wooden case or a suit cover, as appropriate.

In terms of transportation, the hotel offers an in-house taxi service and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for an Uber or Careem taxi, wherever we were in the city.

Dubai is simply amazing! Of all the places that I have been to in the world, Dubai is the most impressive. Everything is spectacular and pristine. You feel so safe and the people are so hospitable.

Fairmont The Palm was a major contributor towards what was our best family holiday yet - thank you!

Due to the level of service we received I really wanted to like this hotel.

We arrived at 5.30am and although we are Accor gold holders we did not expect to get a room straight away so we were delighted when they sorted us one out within an hour. The view was of the dual carriageway which runs and out of the Palm which was a disappointment but at least we could rest after a long trip.

The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. They are starting to look slightly worn but not enough to be a problem (we much prefer a traditional style hotel than the white marble and turquoise of more modern hotels)

Service in the club lounge is superb with Gilbert and Allen and the team providing excellent service. The food here is reasonably limited in choice but excellent in quality. It was a haven of quiet in a hotel that was practically full.

The location is great on the West Beach with its beach side restaurants and clubs and several other luxury hotels. Nakhell mall is also close by.

What let this hotel down for us was the outside spaces as they are simply not big enough to accommodate the number of guests in the hotel. Both the pool and beach areas feel really cramped. This is combined with the fact that hotel seems to be populated by an army of ‘sun bed hoggers’. When I went for a run at 7.30 they were out in force putting towels over their chosen beds like they were at a 3* All inclusive in Benidorm. Practically all the beds have gone by 9am with most laying unused most of the day.

Would I stay again? Probably not it just felt a bit too much like I was on a TUI holiday and not quite the luxury that we visit Dubai for. That said it was still reasonably good value for money in comparison to a lot of Dubai hotels.

Very disappointed with my stay here from start to Finnish with at first a 2 taxis driver arguing and then fighting over what taxi drivers turn it was to tack someone this was at the front door of the hotel that led to my wife and child being pushed

Then the day before Christmas Eve all my water in the room was brown (photos shown below) witch ment me my wife and my 1 year old child where unable to get a wash that led to us missing a very important booking reservation

When we approached the reception abut this it did not seem to bother them and informing us it’s a accident with pipes and not there issue witch it obviously is there issue it’s there hotel we was down stairs for 2 hours trying to get this issue sorted and in the end up members of staff where just ignoring us this issue was never
Truly resolved

Then for the remainder of the stay the water was comeing out sandy and dirty so we did not use the bath at all witch is difficult with a 1 year old son staff was informed but did nothing that solved the issue

The room was never cleaned properly our full entire stay made the house keeping aware of Staines and marks where things had been from before our stay

Was waiting round the pool for over a hour and a half on a burger for my son that we ask for multiple times when landed it was cold and was wanting payed before we even eat it then another member of the pool staff came 5 minutes later to try bill us agen for the same thing had issue like this the full stay also made reception aware of this but nothing was ever done to resolve these issues

DEFINITELY NOT A 5 star hotel very undertrained and just unhelpful staff this hotel is definitely not what it once was very shabby worn out facilities

Dear 807sharmained, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay. We deeply regret to learn that your experience fell short of your expectations, and we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered. The temporary water outage was an unexpected emergency, and we understand the significant impact this had on your plans and overall experience. While we worked to address the issue as quickly as possible, we regret that it caused you such frustration. Regarding the incident involving city taxis outside the hotel, we want to clarify that these are independent services not directly managed by the hotel. However, we took your concerns seriously and promptly reported the matter to the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of all guests. We are disheartened to hear that your interactions with our team did not meet the high standards of service we strive to deliver. Our staff made efforts to address your concerns during your stay, but we regret that these attempts did not improve your experience. The concerns you raised regarding room cleanliness and dining service have been shared with the relevant departments for review and improvement. Please accept our apologies for any inconveniences caused. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and demonstrate the exceptional hospitality for which we are known. 2nd 14 day visit to Fairmont The Palm this year. Hotel exceeds expectations. Food and service in Flow Kitchen, Little Miss India and Seagrill restaurants of high standard. Frevo food good but live music was uncomfortably too loud - did not return. So if you enjoy conversation with your dinner, don't bother!

Staff in hotel and at the pools all very efficient and friendly. Our room housekeepers Nijam and Tarek were amazing, like a couple of ninjas. We would leave the room and when we returned the room was spotless and all towels, water, coffee etc was replaced as new. They even provided a turn down service with the same attention to detail.
As Accor Live Limiless Gold members we were offered a room upgrade which was most appreciated. We have stayed at three other hotels on the palm and five in the Dubai area including Jebil Ali and Ajman, and would choose the Fairmont for future holidays.
Great job to Fairmont management and staff. Thank you.

This was my 3rd time back to this hotel. It’s lovely and all the staff are so nice and accommodating and feel like friends at the end of your stay.

Room is big and comfortable I was on the 4th floor and yes the music especially at the weekends on the beach is loud but you cannot hear this when doors are closed.
Seagrill is my favourite restaurant so chilled and relaxed and once again staff here are fantastic, the lovely India lady with long hair (sorry cannot remember your name) remembered me and my friend from last year and came over to say hi. Also Levi’s was another one there that was lovely to be honest they all were.
Have to also give BA a try especially at the evening brunch at the weekends.

I have seen some changes over the last 3 years, some for the better some not so much.

Positives

Return of the turn down service
Clean fresh towels given twice a day if needed.
Move to planet saving removal of plastics etc
New renovation of the buffet restaurant waiting staff don’t stop and are so friendly.
Omelette station is my favourite thanks to the quick chefs there.

Negatives

Buffet restaurant was very manic with lots of unruly children with fingers in food, also had to ask several times for condiments to be replaced.

Would be good for an adult’s area especially in the evenings as I won’t go as not relaxing currently

Pool area’s
I know I was in peak season but I come at the same time every year it was manic and it’s the first time I’ve had issues getting a sun bed around the adults pool, as I’m on my own I’m not got going to set my alarm to get to the pool at 7am to get a bed, I was getting there around 10am and lots of beds were free but with towels on them reserved. People were not then turning up until late afternoon. There used to be a rule to only save beds for 1 hour then the pool guys would remove the towels this needs to come back swiftly. One day there was a uncomfortable confrontation between a lady that had saved beds before 10am and pool boys allowed a older couple to use them at 3pm she came back at 4pm and kicked off at the couple and everyone that wanted to listen to her. It’s the first time I’ve seen this at the Fairmont and hopefully the last.

Pool towels used to be unlimited now only 2 per person given for the day. I really don’t want to be laying on a wet towel after a pool dip for the day.

I have still booked for next year as feel so comfortable here, my home from home, but these little things especially the pool items need to be sorted, I’m not on a package holiday in Spain and also not paying that price tag so should be sorted.

Dear Sarah M, Thank you for your detailed feedback about your recent stay at Fairmont The Palm. We are thrilled to hear that this was your third visit and that you continue to enjoy our warm and welcoming staff, spacious rooms, and the delightful dining experiences, especially at Seagrill Bistro. We are also glad to know that improvements have positively impacted your stay. We are, however, truly sorry for the challenges you faced. The atmosphere in the buffet restaurant and the pool area is something we will review with our team to ensure a more seamless experience. While we understand your concerns about sunbed reservations, we are reinforcing policies to ensure fair usage for all guests. Similarly, your comments about a potential adults-only area in the evenings have been noted for further consideration. We deeply value your loyalty and are delighted to hear you have already planned your return visit. Rest assured, your feedback helps us enhancing our services, and we look forward to welcoming you back next year for an even more enjoyable stay. We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at the Fairmont and would not hesitate to return.
Location is perfect, the staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was excellent and plenty of choice, certainly never stuck for finding something to eat, it was more not over feeding yourself as you wanted to eat it all. Having different restaurants to visit too was great and we were certainly not disappointed with any meal.
The only thing I would say was a downfall is that a drink was not included on the half board basis with your evening meal, not even water. Water was charged at 30AED per bottle yet it was complimentary in your room. Next time I would look into the drinks package we found out about whilst staying.

I've given 4 out of 5 simply because the staff were amazing and extremely helpful with sorting the issues we had. The food is amazing. Little Miss India was gorgeous, as was Boldly Asian.

First of all, this is NOT a relaxing hotel anymore. We last visited in 2019 when the boardwalk was being built. There are now beach clubs/bars which had just opened and blarred their music out til 1am. It was competing with the other beach bar to the right, which also had construction work from 7 amm going on. We moved rooms because of the noise but the staff were very helpful in accommodating us.

There aren't enough sun beds. A lot of people come down when it opens and leave towels down, so anyone coming down later than 10 am may not get one.
The pool is looking a bit tired now with tiles missing and cracked. It is very expensive now too, we worked out a can of diet pepsi by the pool was £6. Balwant and Rasal were lovely, though. Very friendly and helpful. The lack of outside space does let it down a bit now.

The buffet was a bit hit and miss service wise for breakfast. Most mornings, we were chasing up our hot drinks. It would be nice to have an area where there aren't screaming kids running around while you're trying to eat. Granted, we went in half term, but we have older children, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. Maybe use one of the sections for no families with under 5s. We had a Halloween afternoon tea, which was to die for! (No pun intended)

Kids club staff are amazing. They are all so so lovely, and they held a fab Halloween party! Keilagh, Jennifer, Glenda, Charles, and Catherine you are just amazing!

If you want something relaxing, there are other hotels which would suit you better. Whether it's the changes to the outside boardwalk bringing an 18-30s vibe or the change in clientele, it's not what it was.

A huge thank you to Tiffany and everyone else who helped sort out the issues we had. It was appreciated.

Super nice hotel in a more than excellent location. Very nice staff who are extremely helpful. The only downside we experienced is that they were renovating the breakfast location during our stay. As a result, it had to be temporarily moved to a 'B' location which felt massive, impersonal and like a sports hall. Why don't they renovate in mid-July/August when it is 40 degrees+ and there are significantly fewer guests? Because I cannot tolerate crowds and noise pollution, we were assigned an outdoor breakfast location with 100% personal service during the renovation. Very nice & thank you Faitmont The Palm

First time visiting this hotel having previously stayed at The Anantara, Zabeel, JA Ocean view and JBH.

I wasn't certain that the Fairmont would be able to better them , however I was soon proved wrong.

As is the case in Dubai, we received a very warm(literally!) and informative welcome from Ashraf on the reception desk.

The rooms were large, comfortable and had the biggest and most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The rooms were meticulously serviced by the housekeeping team on a daily basis.

During the stay i lost count of how many Birthday and Anniversary cakes we received but they were all delicious.

The food was of a very high quality, probably the best of all of the hotels I've stayed in to be honest! We ate mostly at the Flow buffet(vast and numerous choices of food), with 2 visits to Little Miss India and also Sea grill. Little Miss India was sublime in both it's surroundings, quality of food and knowledge of the staff, easily the best Indian food I've eaten. Sea grill is a lovely, calm environment in which to eat with once again fantastic quality of food. Special comment goes to Irfan for his attentive service.

The pools and gardens were spotless and very well maintained. We did visit the beach later in the day due to the heat, however either location has plenty of sun loungers.

My Wife used the Spa facilities and said they were "amazing", she especially enjoyed the service of Shenani.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and were it not for some of the challenging prices, i would return asap.

I must make it known that the people who actually made the holiday, were the staff. It could be said that they are just doing their job, however, i firmly believe that each and every one of them took pleasure in the fact that i/we were having a great time and certainly nothing was too much trouble. To reiterate this, on our last morning some of the staff created a Bon Voyage dish and thanked us for being humble and kind with them. I believe that you should speak to others how you wish to be spoken to yourself, and we did this to all whom we met.

I need to mention the following staff for going the extra mile.

My Ugandan Friend John the doorman, what an asset to the hotel this young man is

Our housekeeper, Sampath.

Our Breakfast team of Jackilyn and Kataur, literally couldn't do enough for us.

This hotel and its staff have set the bar very high now and we will 100% be return guests.

Bravo!

Yes all pool’s are free and sun loungers, then opposite the back of the hotel area across to West Beach is an area on the beach private for The Fairmont, with lovely thick cushions on the sun loungers again all free. Towels available also for the pools and beach from the little hut. Xx
