The hotel is in an unusual part of town, next to the port. Most (resort) hotels are either south near Dubai Marina or in the city centre for business. That however is not a bad thing as the resort has enough to keep you busy for at least a couple of days. The romantic suite which we booked was nice,...

On our arrival they asked if it was our first time at the resort. It was. They checked us into a dark room, which felt as if you are going into a dungeon and it had a terrible odour to it. We requested a room with two beds and this was not done previously. The nice thing is they did...

Never a five star! I've been to better 3 star hotels. The decor is quite old, especially in the bathroom and the shower is very poor quality and cold most times we used it. No iron in the room which I don't expect from a five star. The room in general was very small although the bed was very comfy...

Staying at the hotel was very nice. Private beach, nice staff, close to the city centre. The room was nice, clean and the cleaning staff was quite friendly. Few points, that can make the stay not very comfortable - there are few constructions going in the hotel, but they were not disturbing or limiting during the stay. But it depends...

It is better to be a surprisingly good 3* (or even a decent 4*) than a disappointing 5*. A guest at a disappointing 5* never returns, they will spend their money elsewhere. A word of advise for the management of this hotel; rip a couple of stars of the wall and you'll end up with a lot happier customers and...

The biggest thing I noticed in this hotel was the the staff never smiled, I was amazed, normally in a 5 star the staff smile and seem happy and proud but from the gardeners to the hotel reception they seem really miserable here and I think this sums up my visit and says something about the hotel. In the end...

Stayed here at the end of our honeymoon for 4 nights. The staff are incredibly friendly, very helpful and will do anything in their power to make your stay perfect. The room was stunning, bed comfortable and air con made it a very cool stay. Plenty of bars and restaurants in resort and also very good area to stay in...

Staying in Jumeirah

Neighbourhood Profile
Jumeirah
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighbourhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.
