Of all the hotels we stayed in during four weeks in SE Asia, this stirs the happiest memories. A labyrinthine collection of beautifully preserved UNESCO-listed French colonial buildings — even on the fifth day I was still getting having a hard time finding my way around — landscaped in such a way to feel like an intimate paradise. Breakfast was...

We stayed for 5 nights and took 2 rooms, numbers 18 and 19 which are adjacent ground floor pool facing rooms. 18 is a deluxe double and 19 a standard twin. Both are "traditional" rooms which means that they are recently built, the "heritage" rooms are in older building(s). The only difference between then was that 18 had a larger...

I had a really good stay with my family in this hotel. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, the rooms were spacious, the pool was nice, the staff was very friendly and the french man manager was very helpful. Luang Prabang is a really nice and small town. I will definitively come back if I have the chance. Merci beaucoup...

I was delighted with this hotel and would not hesitate to go back! The breakfast was fresh and delicious, the pool was calm and refreshing and the rooms were clean and spacious -- all this in a beautiful french colonial setting! Also, I appreciated the fact that it was just a short walk (and even shorter tuk-tuk ride) from the...

We stayed in a Heritage room that was fine although the old timber flooring did creak a lot, which could be expected. The staff were excellent, very helpful. The pool was a welcome bonus from all the walking we did in LP. The bar and restaurant were excellent particularly breakfast. Although it's a 10 minute walk to the town it...

This hotel is quite far out of town. I have stayed in Luang Prabang twice now and I'm afraid the last place I stayed was lovely spacious bright and fresh. Villa Maydou is not good. The smell from the room hit me when we walked in. A real damp.musty smell which we just couldn't get rid of even after spraying...

This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful garden and a swimming pool at the perfect warm temperature. The rooms are large and pretty and the breakfast is delicious! They also lend bikes for the day which is a great way to visit Luang Prabang Nevertheless we were disappointed by the low quality of the service: no member of the...

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Maydou. It is a tremendous value for the price. The villa itself is very nice and extremely clean. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was very nice. If I had to find something negative, I would say the beds are a little small. The manager, Sam, is very friendly and I am...

Dear Mr Yinzh. First thank you to take time to write this review. We are glad that you liked villa maydou so much. You seem not to have appreciated the language skills of some of our staff and so I owe you an explanation. Our staffs come from all over the country and from several minorities tribes. Just extended our stay here for a few more days as it is such an excellent place to relax after excursions in the heat around LP. Lovely spacious rooms, modern amenities, laid back green clad pool area, nice staff. A very good choice in Luang Prabang just out of the main areas but easily close enough to everything to walk...
