We stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely heritage buildings, secluded peaceful gardens next to monastery. About 10-15 minute walk to the centre. Free bike hire. The room was large with a big veranda with a table and chairs and a large comfy seating area with cushions. It was clean.Unfortunately I think this place needs a bit of t.l.c and it would...

This charming hotel offers a delightful stay. Rooms in the new section have teak floors, private lanais and pleasant views of the pool. There is a charming outdoor snack/lounge area, and an ample breakfast is also served open air. The menu reflects the area's French influence, with omelettes and yogurt among the offerings. Internet is included, and owner Sam is...

Villa Maydou had lots of beautiful tree and plants. I enjoyed the scenery that they have set up. Also he hotel was close to tourist area. Cons: lots of noise, hard for me to fall asleep due to music from the pool bar. A/c was having problem but the receptionist worked hard and kept our room cool the rest of...

Dear Niama Chavariane, Thank you for your review. Happy to read that you like you stay. I'm pleased to read that the Villa Maydou team was able to come up with some solutions that could have solved the problem. The green tiles of the pool is a way to not denature the traditional environment to keep the green colors of...

This is an odd one. On the outside, the Villa Maydou is authentic with a lovely garden setting and a general ambience oozing traditional Lao style. However, I found it lacking in a few areas. The hotel is a higher-end choice so to not have in-room safes or drinking water provided seem to be such simple things that really shouldn't...

This was average value for money place. There is a lot of choice in Luang Prabang so I would probably stay elsewhere next time. Staff are friendly and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is the free bike rental. The bike was an excellent way to explore this town. Hotel is located away from the peninsula but it was...

We stayed 2 nights and were pleased with the location and the level of service and comfort. It is located right beside a temple, and the temple courtyard is used as an entrance way. It is a 10-minute (max) walk to the touristy area and dining and shopping options. Our room was spacious and clean, with a big comfortable bed....

I had so wanted to like this place. After a rugged multi-day trek into the hills, my friend and I looked forward to relaxing at a more upscale hotel. The property with restored wooden buildings was indeed lovely to look at; our upstair room was well appointed with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool. Unfortunately, service was spotty, especially...

We wanted to choose a comfortable hotel at the end of our trip. The Villa Maydou turned out to be an excellent choice. It is run by French, with a touch of French ambience. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, lovely furnished, the bathroom with wodden furniture and a bath tub. Our neighbours were monks in a monastery, we loved they...

I'm a bit torn with regards to this place. It's a beautiful little hotel, nicely restored big wooden Laotian houses in the middle of a green oasis. My room was nice and large with a good bed and a strong very hot shower, however, there is no safety box. Villa Maydou is situated a 15 to 20 minutes walk from...
