My family stayed 5 days at Maydou during Laos new year. We enjoyed every moments there throughout. The property is well built around 2 UNESCO world heritage houses, nice garden and pool, lots of space, perfect for family with kids. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is beyond our expectations: fresh fruit juice, homemade fruit jam, local style soup......

This hotel has treated us very well! The hours by the pool were heaven, especially with their freshly made smoothies right by our side! We could borrow bicycles easily 3 times a day for little trips around Luang Prabang. Location was also very good, 3 minutes cycling and you find yourself on the Main Street were all the bars and...

Stayed in Room 8. Large double bed and a large single in which my 5 and 7 year old could comfortably share. Thanks to the manager for accommodating us. We used the free bikes most days and it was a ten minute ride into town, at night tuk tuks were a readily available option. Wifi in the room was patchy...

Absolutely love the hotel and staff including a very helpful manager. The only issue is that the floorboards are noisy and also the air conditioning was extremely noisy at night. That said what a great place, lovely pool cute bar area and really beautiful set up. Breakfast was fine without being spectacular. The location is within easy walking of many...

We adored the place and really felt like it added much to our stay in Luang Prabang. We stayed in a heritage room which was absolutely beautiful and yet functional with a bathtub: truly there was a bit of creaking but that is what happens with heritage places. The room was spacious and immaculate clean. The grounds were lovely with...

The goods news is that the hotel is as pretty as it looks like on the photos. The hotel is a short, 10 to 15 minute walk away from the city center. The walk is pleasant, so the location is ok. There is no harm in staying a bit away from the city center but I see no advantage either....

We have just stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and I'm sorry but I really didn't like it! For a start it's so overpriced for what you get! We paid €400 for 4 nights! NOT WORTH IT! We were in the heritage block on the ground floor and I'd read reviews about it being noisy from people above but...

Firstly, the positives of our stay. The look and feel of Villa Maydou is lovely, as it is a heritage Laotian collection of buildings. We stayed in a Heritage room which was very spacious with some lovely architectural detail and a comfortable, if slightly small, double bed. However, there were lots of niggly little negatives which led us to the...
