A lovely peaceful hotel a short walk from the centre of town. We loved the fact that we could walk everywhere but that the hotel was on a quieter street. Our room, in the main building overlooking the river, was huge and beautifully decorated. Fantastic shower and really tasty breakfast. The staff were lovely and friendly. A really enjoyable stay.

I stayed here with family in the upstairs rooms. I loved this hotel - the bed was comfy and the bedding high quality, the shower was FANTASTIC and I never had a cold one! The room was clean and spacious and I enjoyed the little balcony. Location wise, it is excellent and is minutes form the main street, yet it...

The Apsara was the perfect choice for our first visit to Luang Prabang. The central location meant we could easily explore the town on foot but the location along the riverfront meant it was still relaxing and peaceful at the hotel. We stayed in an upstairs room and everything from the gorgeous decor to special touches (like chilled beer glasses...

Did not look anywhere else for our return to Luang Prabang as our first experience was memborable for the excellent level of service from the staff and the comfy large rooms. This trip our small group booked three standard rooms that are a little apart from the main building which houses the reception area, bar and restaurant. We enjoyed having...

I stayed here for several nights. The rooms were quiet, clean and well appointed. The location is very central and within walking distance of many sights. Being right across from the river makes it a good location for relaxing with a drink, people watching or hopping on a boat for a tour. The staff here were absolutely wonderful. Polite, cheery...

It was a great start to the stay, they were so welcoming when they picked me up from the airport and thanked me for visiting their city. They went through the map and local attractions, which was so helpful as well. The room was quite large and the decor was very charming in a traditional sense. It was so clean,...

This boutique hotel has one of the best beds I ever slept on. The rooms decorations is also something to highlight. You can really feel Luang Prabang atmosphere there. The staff is really nice and speak well english.

This was our first time to Luang Prabang and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Aspara. We had a room that opened up to the street which was right across from the river. Luang Prabang is not a big city so the street traffic was not that busy or noisy. The room was comfortable and had a rustic and...

We loved this hotel.. Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, amazing pillows! Excellent cocktails. Only ate in restaurant once, but memorable food. Seemed all very informal and relaxed. Easy to walk into town. Hotel able to organise any trips that you may want.. Would DEFINATELY recommend it to friends, and have done!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The first and still one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Luang Prabang, the Apsara was originally a rice warehouse situated on the banks of the Nam Khan [The quieter side of town]. The Apsara is also right in the heart of the heritage village, making it the perfect place to stay. From the comfort of its large, airy bedrooms, rated by the Washington Post as "an inch beyond decadence", it's easy to explore temples and the lanes of Luang Prabang. After which you can relax on the river terrace and enjoy the spectacular views and a refreshing Beer Laos. But that's not all, our restaurant is well known for having one of the most interesting menus in town as well as a superb wine list and the driest martinis in Laos. As Hip Hotels said "Both the restaurant and bar reflect a refined sense of taste" and who are we to argue with that. ... more   less
