Well, may not look busy but great menu with fusion of traditional and western influences. Don't be put off by what may appear to be lack of patronage. Staff are well trained and friendly. Try, Fish Cakes, Pumpkin Curry, Buffalo Cheeks (Yummy) etc., Manager, Chris can discuss any special requirements. This is also a highly regarded boutique hotel on the...

Had a beautiful second floor room, facing the river with a balcony. Location was perfect (little bit quieter part of town but easy to walk everywhere). Comfortable room, comfortable hotel, great for a relaxing vacation. Really enjoyed all interaction with all staff, everyone was helpful and welcoming. Included breakfast was delicious, ample free water was provided. We had a couple...

The hotel is well located (on the main road, overlooking the river) but the room and overall experience were disappointing: Inadequate bathroom ventilation (hence a persistent bad smell), no shower curtain (water from shower splashed everywhere, making a huge puddle on the floor), lots of noise from the street (the rooms on the ground floor are inches from the walkway...

Dear Mari A, We are very sorry our room on the ground didn’t meet your expectations and for sure we are going to look into our drainage pipe. Usually we have no problem with that but of course may have been obstructed by the usage. I apologise again the bed was not to your liking. It is a antique 4...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Apsara. It is a beautiful colonial building. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river. The staff were all very nice, and the food was really good. We spent New Years Eve there and ate dinner at the hotel. We loved Luang Prabang, it was one of my favorite places...

Nicely situated; friendly and helpful staff; breakfast very tasty; bed probably a little too soft; internet has issues of dropping in and out frequently; dinner well worth having in the restaurant - delicious food; good laundry service too.

Upon arrival at The Apsara, we were met by a very welcoming and gracious staff. And in fact, throughout our stay, they attended to all of our needs and were always very nice and friendly. The hotel itself is located just off the main street in Luang Prabang, on the banks of the Khan River. The location is perfect; just...

We had tried Tamarind a few yards along the road but they were fully booked so we walked on and found this place which seemed better. Took a great table on the terrace, plenty of room and overlooking the Mekong, couldn't have bee better! We enjoyed a really fabulous meal, plenty to eat and drink with the most sublime dessert....

The apsara is a nice restaurant by the river. The crispy pork belly papaya salad bahn mi was pretty awesome, it also had some basil in it. The prices reasonable. Good spot for lunch if you are by the river.

The Apsara is located on the Khan River side of the city - a tad quieter than the Mekong Side, and is within easy walking (or riding) distance of the town centre, restaurants and bars, a myriad of temples and the Mekong River. It is a well-designed and restored SE Asian mid century modern building. The service is excellent -...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The first and still one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Luang Prabang, the Apsara was originally a rice warehouse situated on the banks of the Nam Khan [The quieter side of town]. The Apsara is also right in the heart of the heritage village, making it the perfect place to stay. From the comfort of its large, airy bedrooms, rated by the Washington Post as "an inch beyond decadence", it's easy to explore temples and the lanes of Luang Prabang. After which you can relax on the river terrace and enjoy the spectacular views and a refreshing Beer Laos. But that's not all, our restaurant is well known for having one of the most interesting menus in town as well as a superb wine list and the driest martinis in Laos. As Hip Hotels said "Both the restaurant and bar reflect a refined sense of taste" and who are we to argue with that. ... more   less
