Lovely small hotel with serene views over the hills and Mount Phousi. Loved the common areas of the hotel - restaurant, pool area and bar - understated oriental elegance. Lovely helpful staff, delicious food - breakfast by the pool was very special, as was dinner outdoors. We enjoyed the location - we rode the bikes around so it was nice...

In the hot hustle and bustle of holiday touring La Residence is the perfect sanctuary in which to unwind between or after excursions. A refreshing dip in the beautiful pool overlooking Phuo Si hilltop pagoda is accompanied by a glass of iced hibiscus juice, served by any of the smiling staff. Our upgrade to a pool view suite was an...

We experienced an extremely relaxing two nights at this refined small hotel gracing an elevated sight in the former capital of Laos. We were greeted enthusiastically at the front desk where their meals, spa opportunities, boutique, business center and pool area were all meticulously presented to us, while we sipped on a welcoming drink. We were given the chance to...

The place is beautyful, but the service at reception is really poor. We got there and they didn't really know which rooms were for who, but they pretended like they did, so my 89 year old grandmother had to go up and down and up and down and up and down, all the stars the cover the pathways. The director...

We spent 5 days at the Belmond with the intention of having a very relaxing stay in Luang Prabang. We were not disappointed. We had a very nice room which looked onto the garden and spent lots of time at the lovely pool. The breakfasts were excellent with special stands with ladies cooking eggs on one and noodle soup on...

I can only agree with all the five star reviews, this is an exceptional place. We spent 5 nights in a beautiful suite with mountain view which turned out to be a special treat. The service is impeccable, the staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts at the pool were delicious. The only draw back is the cost of food...

We stayed at this hotel for my birthday last year and overall enjoyed the experience. The highlight was the town itself as it is really pretty and peaceful and a real gem of Asia. The hotel is on the outskirts of town, which gives it a nice quiet ambience away from noise and dust. It has beautiful landscaped gardens and...

We spent five nights here across the Chinese new year holiday. A lovely peaceful place outside the main town. Only 10 minutes drive from airport. Hotel offers free shuttle into town throughout the day. They will also collect you from restaurants in Luang Prabang in the evening if needed. Great location on top of hill overlooking the town. Views from...

We had the opportunity to stay at this lovely intimate resort hotel for three nights in January. We arrived late and a reception was set up in the library for our small group of five where they served us nice appetizers and drinks. We opted to upgrade to the junior suite overlooking the pool, mountains and the pagoda in the...

Positioned atop a hill, gazing across the sacred mountains, Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao is an unforgettable place to stay. Its calm, tranquil ambiance echoes that of sleepy World Heritage town of Luang Prabang - former royal capital of Laos - spread out below. Designed in a traditional style, this intimate hotel is gemmed with teak, silk and fresh cotton accents. The hotel's Phou Savanh restaurant is famed for its wonderful French-influenced local cuisine while Doc Champa bar offers guests a range of Laotian and classic cocktails. The award-winning Mekong Spa blends ancient techniques with modern understanding to ensure complete indulgence and well-being and is the first luxury spa in Luang Prabang, Laos. Furthermore the hotel offers a gym, boutique, tours & excursion desk, meeting room and organic garden with cooking class area. The hotel's 34 suites are elegantly furnished with emphasis on local styles and materials. The combination of parquet and traditional Lao textiles creates an immediate sense of peace and space in all suites. Large windows provide plenty of natural light and open onto the exotic gardens.
