Please don't stay here, especially if you're alone. It's great for meeting people but that's it. The rooms and facilities are actually ok, but as I was leaving I saw my pillow, under the pillow case, was thick with mould. The staff steal your stuff when they clean your room every day and actually come in when you're sleeping to...

Only consider staying here if you're exhausted from the 2 day boat trip and can't be bothered looking round...I realise now there was a reason Central was full down the road but Spicy had lots of space! In the downstairs form there were Dirty mattresses, basic tired bathroom (often no toilet paper) and nearly no plug sockets. There were TWO...

Rooms were a little uncomfortable, but the hostel was a great place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They shared one of their meals with my friend and he got to try some interesting foods, including fertilized duck egg. The snake whiskey was a nice touch, but I wasn't brave enough to try it.

The rooms are decent and to be fair I'm staying an extra night. Clean etc. But the service is the worst I've got anywhere, they don't care that the WIFI doesn't work, they're more than happy to cheat guests with their little daily 'events' that are always under catered and over priced.

I stayed here twice, my first stay two years ago was on a hard bed as many of the other reviews have stated and the shower facilities were not all that great. On my second stay I tried to find another hostel, and several more have poped up to compete with Spicy Laos for around the same price. But, I...

Walking into the hostel it looked like a fun hippie commune. People were hanging out talking to one another, playing pool, and overall it was a good vibe. Then we were brought to the rooms...I felt like I was going back in time and not in a good way. There are no doors, just curtains, the mattresses are only inches...

We spent two nights here and it was not good. Poorly lit rooms infested with mosquitos and terribly uncomfortable beds. Flooded bathrooms not very well maintained and no hot water. Conveniently located close to great street food in the morning is only thing going for this place.

I stayed in this hostel for two nights after a friend recommended it because it is a great place to meet other travellers. The communal space is mostly outside and there is a very laid back atmosphere where you can sit round the fire. They organise a daily trip to the waterfalls for 30,000 kip which is good value. There...

This place is ok but I can't say much else. The location is good but the organisation and actual hostel is only so so. We booked online and when we arrived they seemed to have no knowledge of the booking. 20 minutes later we were shown a room with some beds which apparently had other people in until 20 minutes...

If you are not very very particular about presentation then this is the best place in LP to stay. Its cheap and has clean loos and washrooms. Just that there might be some broken windows (which was bad as it was 6 degrees at night, and it got really cold). Initially when i went there i was really creeped out,...
