The Best Boutique Hotel in Mandalay. Good Restaurant, Good SPA and Good Service. This is "The Place" for you to have either your safe business or vacation trip. All the staff are very polite and well-trained.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Although the hotel is not central the staff more than make up for it. The rooms are small but have all the amenities you might need. As the hotel is boutique the pool, spa and restaurant are all to hand. If you like Indian food this is the place for you.

First stayed here 15 months ago and it's still the same. A small delightful hotel offering an oasis of peace and comfort in a busy city. Too many 'boutique' hotels seem to be built for the satisfaction of the designer/architect but this is a genuinely great place. Super friendly staff, nice touches such as the nightly cocktails by the pool...

The staff here were really delightful, they were all friendly and accomodating which is more than can be said for the room which was small to say the least. As I was travelling with my brother and we needed twin beds I thought that this was the reason and that rooms with double beds were larger but on reading the...

We stayed here for three nights during our time in Mandalay. The staff at the entrance and in reception were most welcoming. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and it was quite safe to take a walk around the block after dinner. In the restaurant they served a nice Burmese set menu which was a good introduction to...

We loved the outdoor shower and waterfall off our room. The soap smelled so nice. The staff were so helpful. Restaurant has outside seating in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees and other plants.

A lovely welcome and helpful staff. The bedroom was adequate. The restaurant ok if you like Indian food otherwise there was no choice. The pool area is very pleasant but a bit small. It was in quite a good location.

Loved the neighbourhood east of the Palace and cycling distance from the golden palace and several fascinating pagodas (the Palace IS REALLY HUGE and takes a while to pass in a taxi, best to be closer to the main sights). Fair sized pool partially shaded by trees, lush garden has a pretty good Indian restaurant but better Burmese food outside....

The staff were absolutely fantastic with their service. So helpful and friendly. However, our room was a superior room and there was 6 inch space down one side of the bed to the wall, no bedside cabinet. Hard to get into bed without bashing yourself on the wall. Pic attached. The other side of the bed had a bedside cabinet...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
An oasis by the landmark Red Canal in local folklore just minutes from the famed Mandalay Palace and other attractions, The Hotel by the Red Canal is a convenient sanctuary, with its lush tropical greenery and calming water features, amidst the hustle and bustle of Myanmar's cultural city. “By choosing to stay with us, we will provide you with the extra measure of quality, comfort and personal convenience that you are looking for. Being small, we are able to provide personal attention to the needs, wants, and expectations of every guest.” The boutique-style hotel is a celebration of all things Myanmar, featuring teak furniture and fixtures & fittings made from rattan, mother-of-pearl and other local materials as well as Myanmar marble lining the bathroom walls. Each of the 4 types of guestrooms or customized suites, differentiated by individual style, bears the name of the major ethnic groups in multi-cultural Myanmar and is adorned with rich traditional paraphernalia and trappings reflecting their respective cultural heritage. All Chin and Shan suites feature a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and garden green. Ground floor Chin suites enjoy a “water moat”. The Rakhine suites are spacious and ideal for the business traveler. An outdoor shower with a slate wall of cascading water is the highlight of the honeymooner Kachin suites. ... more   less
