I read mixed reviews about this hotel before leaving for Myanmar but having now been there I think many people have unreal expectations of what to expect in a Country that has recently come out of 50 years of isolation. This is a very good hotel by any standard. Massive gardens and pool, excellent and large rooms and very good...

We spent a couple of days at the Mandalay Hill resort in December. The appearance is a bit dated and the rooms are small, shabbily furnished and reminiscent of a 1980s Ramada Inn. Fortunately, the spa was lovely and the front desk staff efficient. My advice is to really do the research as Mandalay is changing quickly

Facilities (restaurants, spa, pool area etc.) are very nice. Rooms (at least the one we had) was very basic, bathroom was old and small. Not worth the money if you ask me, but we only stayed for 1 night so no big deal. However, would not stay there again.

This hotel has many good features. The staff are very helpful and polite particularly the deputy manager Zhi (we think sorry if misremembered). The spa is the most beautiful my wife had seen set behind a pool and with very relaxing treatments. Lovely BBQ area with fantastic cooked to order food and chefs so proud of their service. Comfortable bar...

This is a good hotel with nice views and rooms, a decent breakfast spread and acceptable service. It is well located within easy reach of the main tourist attractions, recommended for stay at Mandalay

Our first impression was of a little disappointment. We had booked Mandalay Hill as somewhere special for Christmas and found the rooms a little small (particularly the bathroom) and pretty average with the furnishings then we were hit with extremely loud music coming from the lawn area where they were sound testing for a private function the next day -...

This hotel was our destination for a two night stay after a river cruise from Yangon. We were led into the lounge area and greeted with, a very welcome, welcome-drink, while an early check-in was organised. We were very soon in our second floor room, with wonderful views over the hotel gardens and up to the stupas and temples that...

This is a difficult hotel to rate. The location is good, but it's not the high end hotel you may expect. Good: Location, breakfast, friendly staff, hotel grounds. Bad: Room service options severely limited, bathroom is old, not enough electrical outlets, terrible WiFi, not enough elevators. After a remodel this hotel could be brilliant.

We had a spacious room overlooking the pool and the hill behind the resort. We didn't use the pool, but it was very clean. Good happy hour, nice buffets. Splurge on the outdoor BBQ buffet, its a very romantic setting. Breakfast buffet offers a lot of options.

We had a great view across Mandalay Hill from our window. Hotel was nice and staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good but a little bland with reasonable options for vegetarians. Happy hour was great :-) Pool was nice but was in shadow of the hotel for most of the day. Gym was OK but machines were old. Mandalay...
