We spent three nights at the Mandalay Hill Resort. The Hotel is comfortable but quite impersonal. Definitely some TLC needed. The rooms are standard size, but with very small bathroom. The lifts are not set properly and consequently take ages to arrive! The Buffet meal in the evening is ok - a shame they have no plate warmers as with...

We stayed here for 3 nights before we headed off on a tour. All of the hotel staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to buy a tourist SIM and they sent a taxi out for us to buy the SIM for 2,000 kyat one evening, we would happily have gone but it was all...

When Accor (Novotel) pulled out because of the unrest, it left behind what must have been an acceptable hotel and this remains the case as far as standards go for Burma. The food is ok, but pretty pricey ($41 for buffet). Happy hour is a nice gesture though you have to have two of the same drink, no mix and...

The hotel is close to Mandalay Hill & The Royal Palace. Attentive service. Nice restaurants, especially Mings. Beautiful breakfast. From our room, we could see Mandalay Hill and many of its pagodas lit up at night. Mandalay is busy town of more than 1.2 million people.

We spent two nights here towards the end of January before joining a cruise on the Irrawaddy. The public rooms are impressive and we thought the food was good. However, the room was very ordinary and the bathroom extremely small. We had booked a room overlooking the Hill, which has a monastery on top. This turned out to be an...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was quite small n generally didn't feel pleasant. We were out most of the day and only used it for sleeping thank god. The Kipling restaurant downstairs had good live music being played on our return one evening.

Couldn't fault anything about this marvellous Hotel. The staff were fabulous, the accommodation was right on the money for the price and the food was incredible. Note: the restaurant serves espresso coffee but you need to ask for it specially otherwise you get the standard filter stewed stuff.

Stayed here for several days as part of a 2 week holiday in Burma and the food and drink we found expensive when judged against its quality. We don't mind paying for high quality food and hotel accommodation but this didn't match up to the very much over stated bling of the decor. At first glance the rooms looked quite...

Our second visit here for 2 nights, and still one of the best in Mandalay. Our booking was done by a local travel agent, Pro Niti. Great place to relax before a flight home. We like the Hill View Rooms. They may be a bit more but worth it for the lovely view and also a bit quieter from city...

We had beautiful views from our connecting rooms. It was too bad we could not open the windows to take pictures of the sunrise from a better angle than through the glass. The lobby is magnificent. That's about it for the positives. Service is absolutely terrible. The hotel was packed (Xmas season) and it was quite a struggle to find...
